"Any "original" writing found within the game is offensive, and not in the usual Family Guy way. At least on the show, there's a sense the writers were aiming to be funny. Not so in Back to the Multiverse. Nary does a level go by without something being called "gay" or "queer." There's no actual gag to that -- it's just someone calling something gay, and we're meant to laugh"
Typical Seth, really. He pretends to be a level-headed, compassionate, proponent of something one minute, and then makes foul attacks on that same group and others the next. He is a pitiful hypocrite. And he clearly uses the character Brian to spew his condescending views.
I saw the score... I guessed Streling... looked down and saw his name... then proceeded to puke. I know the game probably sucks, but Jim is the biggest (literally and figuratively) troll in gaming "journalism". There are people who kiss his butt and act like he's the best thing around, but in reality, he is nothing but an attention whore that got picked on as a kid and wants to feel empowered.
In my opinion, Jim Sterling writes some pretty damn well written and funny articles. Sure, he is a harsh critic but sometimes for a good reason. Now, I haven't played this game so I can't say much about the quality of the game but the game might really be bad, who knows? It's his opinion, after all.
If you're interested in the game and you like the look of it, give it a go. I never buy games based on a review someone else gives it. I'll judge it myself and you guys should too.
"I am capable of enjoying Family Guy. Yeah, I know, I'm a terrible person for that"
He said that people will CLAIM he isn't a fan. Try reading the review next time.
Besides, like he said, they crap out lines out of context. You can easily be a fan of the show and not find that funny longer than 3 seconds. And there's no cleverness or humor to the offensive stuff, unlike the show.
Humor wouldn't save a game that uses absolutely the most basic, crap gameplay possible.
I really hope so. The amount of trashy south park games I have played is depressing. Sadly, the tower defence one has been the best, and even then it was average.
The Tenorman's revenge on XBLA was pathetic. Absolutely boring and lazy development. Fingers crossed stick of truth is good. Though my hopes are about as low as they can get.
Oh please, it's declined in quality sure but it's still entertaining to watch. I don't see people complain about The Simpson despite not being funny since the 90s.
You don't see people complain about the Simpsons? Have you been to the internet before?
However - despite all the hate the Simpsons get: I still love them. They are still funny as hell. And they still deserve that reserved spot every monday evening in my time (It's airing somwhere at 4am on Mondays by my local time - so I'll watch it after work. Ah - who am I kidding. Generally I have watched it before I go to work)
Looks like it's a bland, repetitive third person shooter that doesn't capitalize on the universe and spouts out jokes that are out of context with the humour of the show.
Yeah, saving my money with this one. South Park: The Stick of Truth... here I come.
