This review may be the silliest stupid thing I have read to date. Call of duty is not "art" such as James camrons avatar. UHM DUH DUMBASS. That doesn't mean it can not be a deep multiplayer shooter and in my opinion it would be pretty damn hard to get players emotions into an online match. No game I know of has done it to date so shut up.

pretty sure bunch of 12 year olds running around screaming at the top of their lungs dosen't count as "deep". Not to mention it takes a total of 0 skill to be "good" at call of duty. Stop trying to defend something that is ruining an industry.

How is it ruining the industry? Because you don't like it? Im not a big CoD fan either but you sound like CoD has done something personally wrong toward you.

People have fun playing CoD. Isn't that all that matters?

CoD isn't ruining the industry. The legions of idiotic developers who can't wait to try to copy their formula for the billionth time are what's ruining the industry.
As for skill, it's pretty much point and shoot like any other FPS....not sure why CoD is being singled out in this regard. Because they put poorly handling vehicles in Battlefield? Oh, the sheer complexity of driving....how deep.
Yaaaaawn. Change the record please, the same old complaints are getting very old now. Don't like it's style? That's fine, but don't claim it's somehow beneath other games which amount to the same mechanics.

art =/= fun

Look at that game Dear Esther.....the most boring title ive ever played yet constantly praised as art?
dennett316  +   775d ago
Who cares if a game is art or not? Surely you play games to have fun, and that's all that matters. They can have a message, they can be mindless....just like movies. Sometimes you want something a bit more deep or meaningful, sometimes you just want to shoot an alien in the face.

So what this guy is saying is that, to be considered art, a game has to take away player freedom and interaction, so that it plays the way the creator wants it to. In that case, you can keep your art, and I keep my games.
