I agree with all those reasons especially quick scoping and objective k/d whores. Still, it sadly hasn't stopped me going into my local game shop and preordering this game for no other reason than because it's the only game that some of my friends will be playing.
For me I tend to play because the group of friends I regularly game with enjoy playing COD together. We can all play it, Halo is all well and good but half of us love it while the other half just don't get it.
COD is the only game we can all enjoy together online.
A lot of this list is not exclusive to COD...like KD whores.
What I hate about cod is how awful the sp can be at times. Outside of those huge set pieces in the middle of the grind, you start to realize just how bad 3arch is at creating challenge.
A seemingly endless supply of terrorists spilling out of a closet until you pass an imaginary line in the sand.
Terrorist closets- enemies will randomly appear in a hallway in areas where it should be impossible.
Slo motion breaching....fUUU
Grenade spam...remember the incredibly ridiculous and homophobic Fight Against Grenade Spam ad, or FAGS for short? I always found that ironic consider how that's the primary means of attack for the bulk of the AI enemies you'll face in the sp.
everyone's a sniper- despite having at least 5 other bullet and nade proof AI partners with you, everyone on the f'n map shoots at you with snipers precision from anywhere on the map.
the obligatory- helicopter crash, on railz turret section, the run to this point and survive section, the follow the stealthy grizzled vet section, the sniper section, the control the AC130/predator drone/robot/airhog etc section.
This stuff isn't just the last COD...it's all of them. Every single CoD sp has the above and that won't ever change because it's the only way the 2 or 3 devs that work on the game know how to create challenge...and of course, the limitations of a decade old engine.
'10 reasons why CoD is amazing'
'7 reasons why CoD is crap'
'12 reasons why this CoD will be the best'
Sites struggling to put together anything worth reading. *yawn*
I know people who buy 1 game a year and its always COD.
That isn't necessarily a bad thing, this way it keeps all those shallow people in one place.
i think they left a 0 off that number
