GTA 5's world is bigger than Red Dead Redemption, GTA San Andreas, and GTA 4 combined? Did I just read that right....? O_O

NYC_Gamer4179d ago (Edited 4179d ago )

R* is just the king when it comes to bringing us huge sandbox games with pure detail/story telling/gameplay.

Abash4179d ago

All I can say is..... Thank God for Blu-Ray, seriously O_O

Jinkies4179d ago

@Abash

Wonder how this work on the Xbox 360, will that version have two discs where you have to install one of them. I mean L.A Nore was pretty big and that was 2 discs.

Really not liking the sound of three characters, rather just play as the one. I know you can since you can switch but apparently each one will have things like activites unique to them.

"Really not liking the sound of three characters, rather just play as the one. I know you can since you can switch but apparently each one will have things like activites unique to them."

Thats a GOOD thing. It adds to the replayability of the game. Three unique protagonists = three unique campaigns. If you want to play as just one character, the choice to do that is still given to you.

ShaunCameron4179d ago

R* is may favorite Western developer.

Outside_ofthe_Box4178d ago (Edited 4178d ago )

R* has just solidify themselves as the best developers ever in the history of gaming in my eyes, with Kojima and Naughty Dog following behind them respectively.

GTA5 is very ambitious. I can't wait to see how they pull all of this stuff off. I'm a bit disappointed that you can't purchase property, but that's trivial compared to all the features GTAV contains.

i was not happy to read it was more than one playble character at first.
but with the example of the helicopter chase that you can choose if u gonna fly the it snipe out of it of use the character with the assault rifle to take out ur enemies.
i can see what possibilities it offers and have actaully high hopes for it.

i dont believe the amount of spoken text will be suffering by it (by having three protagonists).
if i look at GTA 4 how much text there is in that game is just crazy (rockstar have always did much with that in gta).

then the part of the world that they create even to specific sigarets brands textures for in the store.
and that they took over a quarter milion pics of LA and many hours of video footage.

i can believe this GTA deserves a new number in the franchise in place of gtaIV: Los santos or something like that.

they made me a believer of its greatness. now i only have to wait for the new trailer and i dont have to see anything anymore till release.
only downside was the that the melee doesnt sound that much improved and that the subject of animals was not really touched.
except from a dog behind the fence.
i would like to know if there were more animals in the game but that wouldnt be a game breaker if they were not.

showtimefolks4179d ago (Edited 4179d ago )

You sir did read that and there are under water stuff now in GTA 5? Damn no wonder ts taking them 5 years to go from GTA 4 to GTA 5. RS take heir time to make excellent games

Can't wait day one already pre ordered. Now just waiting for a collectors edition announcement

PS: this may never happen but I will always look for GTA HD collection

iWishTifaWasReal4178d ago

"San Andreas' RPG-like player customization is still absent, but you can customize the clothing of each character"

very disappointed with tho :/

ThanatosDMC4178d ago

I hope it surpasses San Andreas that's the game they need to beat. Sucks about not being able to customize our character. I remember my fat goldilocks CJ.

PiTCHBLaCK4178d ago

@ Snookie12

Yup you read it right. There Including the ocean floor, interiors and the wilderness and wine country. They also added "With room to spare!"

there wont be San Fierro and Las Venturas, i wonder why that would be...

at least the Desert Remains!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mystery hunting here i come!!!

Tr10wn4178d ago

This time is more focus on Los Santos "Los Angeles" rather than a mix of San Fierro "San Francisco" and Las Venturas "Las Vegas", i see this as a good thing since this mean they will use San Fierro and Las Venturas as a unique city a bigger one for another game or maybe a expack.

GamingManiac4178d ago

San Fierro and Las Venturas as DLC would be soooooo freakin sweet!!!!

Ben_Grimm4179d ago

And this is why print media is dead.

KidCuDiWINS4179d ago

That's why I'll be waiting for my print version in the coming weeks. Something about the print version makes it much more special.

NonApplicable4178d ago (Edited 4178d ago )

Consider yourselves a dying breed.

Psychotica4179d ago

This sounds really sweet, it's going to be a bitch waiting for it...

Shotcalm4179d ago

cannot buy property....big letdown

PinkFunk4179d ago

I know. This was a big letdown for me as well. But they did mention they're working on some other "economic" aspects of the game. I'm curious what those are.

i_da_pappy4179d ago

I know right. if its as big as they say it is i wonder what the save system is like?

Rockstar need to learn that 12 years of work and 5000 employees doesn’t account for one persons opinion on the internet…

Profchaos35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

Oh and hundreds of millions of dollars in revanue to boot.

Lots of complaints about gta ever since the hd era started and yet it's bugger than its ever been with gta vi up to 180 million trailer views alone. The next game is shaping it be be another genre defining game

MetalGearsofWar35d ago

They already learned they dont have to actually make a great game

sagapo35d ago

The controls of RDR2 felt a but cluncky indeed, but it’s not as bad as some make it out to be. At no point did I get the feeling my experience with the game was held back or ruined by the controls.
But it can never hurt to optimize them a bit, sure.

Zhipp34d ago (Edited 34d ago )

I did accidentally beat someone to death a couple times. An unfortunate mistake but besides that I didn't have any problems with the controlls

jznrpg35d ago

Red Dead Redemption felt clunky at first but I got used to it fairly quick. I thought 2 was easier to control but it could be my experience with the first game helped me out. Great games

Profchaos35d ago

I wouldn't call Rockstar games characters clunky instead they feel like they move with Weight they are not twitch controls press x to instantly snap onto cover the characters instead move like a actor would ducking behind cover they are exposed while they get there.
