No other AAA titles? AC3, Borderlands 2, Dishonored, Halo 4 and the critics will undoubtedly praise Black Ops 2. Its much better then last year when all we had was Skyrim.
Uncharted 3, Zelda, LittleBIGPlanet 2, and Batman: Arkham City would all disagree that Skyrim was alone. In fact, it was one of the biggest battles for GOTY this gen has seen.
OT: For all intents and purposes, an 89 on Metacritic probably won't Halo 4's chances at all. I expect it to be a substantial contender.
Game Critics Awards decide game of the year, not Metacritic and they utilized the review from 40 publications recognize by Game Critics. The only one of those to have given Halo 4 a mediocre review was EGM. I've been saying for years Metacritic should only use reviews from publications recognized by Game Critics to offer more transparency.

Triple A game from a triple A developer. This is what happens when you have a passion for your product. It really shows.
I've seen footage of this game and it looks outstanding. Great and engaging campaign, solid graphics, and excellent online. The game screams quality.
I'd really be happy if it was ported to the PC. I think Microsoft has sold enough XBox360s by now with their console exclusive Halo 3, ODST, and Reach. What about the fans that were there from the start?
My personal GOTY is still a tie between Gravity Rush and Borderlands 2. I haven't beaten ACIII yet though. I absolutely love it! Halo 4 will be a great game. I have no doubt. I just never really liked the Halo story, so I won't be purchasing it. I don't really like the multi-player either. I can never seem to win...and I'm a ranked veteran on Counter-Strike and Battlefield 2.
PSASBR comes out next month, as well. I'll see how much I like that before I make a decision. I love the beta.
I believe Halo 4 is a GOTY contender though, for those that enjoy it. It seems like 343 has put a lot of effort into this one! Bungie always did give it their all, even if I didn't want it. Lol.
