Sony payed for them so... No.
MikeMyers  +   720d ago
Anything is possible. Microsoft paid for GTA IV's extra content. I'm not sure how I feel about fragmenting content on various platforms. To me it seems a bit ridiculous trying to get consumers to buy multiple systems to play the same game, especially coming from 3rd party publishers. Trouble is this has been happening for a very long time and I don't see it stopping anytime soon.
Nimblest-Assassin  +   720d ago
If thats the case... I'll be pissed. Not because 360 owners are getting the dlc, thats great for them.

Its because the PS3 version of the game has that stupid big ass red label on the box for no reason

It seriously ruins the box art
ZoyosJD  +   720d ago
Depends on how much MS policy has changed. Their old policy was our system first or not at all.

Hence why RDR, Batman AA, and others still have dlc only on PS3, but GTA IV eventually came over.
MikeMyers  +   720d ago
@ZoyosJD

There are many policies and many backroom deals. This has been the case for a very long time. Microsoft's policy is much like Sony's in that they don't want sloppy seconds in order to remain competitive.

John Carmack once noted Sony has a policy that if a game is released later on (the PS3) that it must include additional content. That is so the game remains competitive because we all know later releases can and do suffer from overall sales compared to original sales. Not 100% of the time but most times.

Microsoft also does not want sloppy seconds and they too want extra content. Notable games would be Joe Danger. It first came out on the PS3 then later on the Xbox 360 under the special edition with added content. The PS3 is also used for DLC as a tactical tool as we can see with Battlefield 3.

http://www.computerandvideo...

As you can see the PS3 had a one week early contract. Virtua Fighter 5 was also rumored to be exclusive on the PS3 until 6 months later. Then it came out on the Xbox 360 with online play. Both systems constantly go back and forth to try and win fans over.

As I say, this has been going on for generations and it's not likely to disappear. The PS2 had games like GTA: San Andreas on a timed exclusive run for 6 months as well. Microsoft seems to be using DLC more so as a tactic likely because it costs less for both sides. Either way I'm not sure I agree with it as it bridges a gap between consumers who shouldn't have to buy multiple systems over 3rd party content.

Yea it is just like any multiplatform "exclusive" dlc that Microsoft has had. Anything thats a multiplatform and its exclusive in reality its "timed". Who knows but I wouldnt be surprise if it does show up on xbox
Knight_Crawler  +   720d ago
The Joker missions in Batman AA for the PS3 never did come to the 360.
Chevalier  +   720d ago
Did any of the previous Assassin Creed missions end up on 360? I don't know, but, each game had them and if those went to 360 later then it's to be expected.
P_Bomb  +   720d ago
Sony and Ubi' always do exclusive stuff for Assassin's Creed, and it's stayed exclusive so far. Brotherhood had the exclusive 'Copernicus Conspiracy' http://blog.us.playstation.... , now AC3 has Benedict Arnold.

It's always been this way. Exclusive MP betas, free copy of AC1 with Revelations, exclusive handheld games 'Bloodlines' and 'Liberation' with PS3 cross-connect perks, Abstergo PS Home space, Copernicus. MGS4 even had an Altair skin for Snake.

I bought Brotherhood used from Amazon a year ago...I still haven't finished it.
I'll check the store for that Copernicus DLC.

I didn't know....thanks guys. :)
KwietStorm  +   719d ago
How do you know what they "payed" (paid) for?
GRamirez  +   721d ago
Could be a timed exclusive.
hawkeyejonjon  +   720d ago
I doubt it. It was said that the brotherhood exclusive dlc on ps3 was timed but it never went to xbox. Time could just repeat itself. It probably will stay exclusive on ps3 and never go to xbox again.
yewles1  +   721d ago
As big as the subject of Benedict Arnold is, I'm betting on timed exclusive.
DivineAssault  +   720d ago

And Dawnguard isn't any good anyway. More overpriced garbage from Bethesda

And in the days of Gta IV and oblivion timed exclusive content PS3 had resistance and uncharted.

What's your point?

Ignore him, there's a reason he only has 1 bubble.
SJPFTW  +   719d ago
LOL Resistance is garbage
Hicken  +   719d ago
Is this a timed exclusive, or is it like the DLC in previous iterations, and a TRUE exclusive?

If this isn't timed(like the DLC in previous games), then your comparison is flawed. Like that nonsense Belking spouts below.
dodo101  +   720d ago
You know what happend to the gtaIV dlc right??
So it's possible.
bubblebeam  +   720d ago
I hate exclusive DLC for multiplats. It's a crappy decision by publishers, as it isn't fair for everyone.

In saying that, it should remain exclusive as it was advertised as such. If it were a timed exclusive, Ubisoft or Sony should have announced it already.
I haven't picked up my pre-order of AC3 yet, but I got the PS3 version. A big reason was because 1 disc, and the dlc.

I don't care that much if 360 owners get it to (I also own an Xbox), it's just that I feel a little bit cheated if it does go there (same goes for 360-ps3 'exclusive dlc).

Were Copernicus missions from Brotherhood ever available on 360? I'm asking because I don't know.
hawkeyejonjon  +   720d ago
It is still exclusive to ps3. So no, it is not available on xbox.
krisq  +   719d ago
Ok, thanks. I don't see how this ACIII exclusivity can be any different then.
TreMillz  +   720d ago
Well to be honest, when it comes to AC, Sony has always gotten the better out of it, and ive yet to see the previous exclusive dlc reach 360 so, who knows
Belking  +   720d ago
it doesn't matter if it comes or not. The 360 has halo 4 and has advantages in other dlc like Skyrim and almost every other game with DLC. Besides, this dlc will be coming to the 360 too. Ubisoft are smart enough to know how important this is to get it on xbox live too.
jd666  +   720d ago
If mentioning exclusive games makes u feel less gutted about not getting this content then u knock yourself out!
palaeomerus  +   720d ago
I'm not even planning to get a copy of AC III for a long while(next summer maybe? I dunno.) So, no worries.
Belking  +   720d ago
Nope but it obviously sure does make you feel gutted.

Lets see halo 4 or AC3. This is an easy choice for me...lol

This DLC will be coming to thew 360 too so don't get your hopes up...lol

Wigriff  +   720d ago
I own both a 360 and a PS3, but my PS3 is my primary gaming machine. Several times now I have bought a title from Bethesda or Rockstar for the PS3, and then was burned when I found out about the 'exclusive DLC' content for the 360. It was bullshit.

Now the same thing seems to be happening in reverse to 360 users, and you know what? It's still bullshit. Bullshit knows no favoritism. Everyone should get the content, and these 'exclusive DLC' rights are for the birds.

Sorry 360 owners. :\
CrimsonessCross  +   719d ago
I only own a 360 (that I honestly don't touch anymore) =_= but if a game is multi-platform then content for that game should come out for all platforms. Why the F*** would you NOT want more sales and just hold and restrict something to a system that someone might not even own?

Agreed though, I honestly never cared for timed exclusivity anyways (at least it was only TIMED and came out at a certain point) and now it's gone to the far reaches of being DLC exclusive to a single console...

*flips table* DONE! (sarcasm)
but seriously, games these days...I miss either something being held to a certain system or not at all. Now it's all spread out being pre-order here, DLC there, map pack up, micro-transaction down, season pass/extra content left and everything else I left out to the right...
=.=

Bad move by ubisoft to do ps3 exclusive because most play on the 360. The reason these other corps do 360 early access or exclusive is because more fans play on that system.
TotalHitman  +   720d ago
Nobody cares who and how many play which console. It's all about the money.
Knight_Crawler  +   720d ago
I think your missing his point.
Temporary  +   720d ago
No ones missing his point...hes just an idiot...lol, has no idea how the business behind these decisions work.
TotalHitman  +   720d ago
@Temporary

I think you misunderstand. By "nobody" I meant video game publisher's. Microsoft didn't pay money for the DLC. Sony did. Ubisoft doesn't care who pay's as long as they get their money. So thanks for calling me an idiot, but if you can't work that one out, then I think it's you who is the idiot.
jd666  +   720d ago
Really? So it's not because Microsoft pay them millions of pounds then? Microsoft started this whole exclusive/ timed exclusive thing off so if 360 fanboys are angry it's their beloved Microsoft they should be angry with!
cgoodno  +   720d ago
Ubisoft sells more software in Europe, where more gamers play on PS3 than 360.

If you only look at U.S. sales, yeah, go with 360. But, Europe, which is Ubisoft's biggest market, goes to PS3.

You're kidding right? Adventure games, racing games, fighting games, rpg, all sell more and have a bigger attachment rate on the ps3. The only genre that outpaces the ps3 on the 360 is shooters and not all of them do as well as cod, gears, halo. If anything what you said is quite the opposite. Also you guys are yet to have certain genres that we do that other devs are diving into.

I have all 3 consoles, and a awesome PC rig. I got AC3 on the PS3, because it came with the super silm. Fan boys go to far. My nephew still thinks uncharted is coming to X-box. He's 12, and family. That why i give him a pass.

I emailed Ubisoft regarding the exclusive DLC.

My email:

I would just like to let you know that as an Assassin's Creed fan almost since the beginning (I purchased the first one about a year after release), I am very disappointed with the Benedict Arnold DLC being exclusive to PS3. I've bought and played all of the games on Xbox 360, Collector's/Limited Editions when available, and the majority of the DLC. I am especially disappointed because I read an article ( http://www.gamesradar.com/a... - page 4 of 8) that says Benedict Arnold wouldn't be a part of the game, or maybe I just interpreted it wrong and that a certain aspect of the Benedict Arnold arc wouldn't be a part of the game. The point remains that I am still extremely disappointed, and the DLC exclusivity has me reconsidering my purchase altogether. I sincerely hope that the content is actually timed exclusive, and will become available to Xbox 360 shortly after release.

I appreciate the time taken to read this and potentially address my concerns.

Sincerely,

A disappointed Assassin's Creed Fan

Their response:

Hi STICKzophrenic,

I'm sorry to hear of your disappointment. I cannot confirm or deny that this DLC will be available at a later time on the Xbox 360, because we do not have that information at this time. For those asking, I have recommended considering it as not being available on the Xbox 360, which is certainly disappointing for those that do not have access to a PS3. I do have hope that the DLC will be released on Xbox 360 at some point, but I cannot guarantee it.

-Ubisoft Technical Support

The thing is, I have a PS3, but I've played all the AC games on 360, as I do all the multiplats. I use my PS3 for their exclusives and for Blu-Ray movies. I was just bluffing about reconsidering my purchase, had to throw it in there for emphasis lol.
CrimsonessCross  +   719d ago
At least you gave them a voice of concern about it. It is a little funny how it IS a multi-platform game though. I understand how (Soul Calibur 3?) had their own individual and exclusive characters in that game but when it actually comes down to DLC content for a game it should be released for all platforms that the game is released on. whether the DLC is a time exclusive for a determined amount of time or not, that wouldn't matter that much to me, I would just want to hear that it is being released for the others. =.=

I'm surprised you play the AC games on 360 over ps3; from what I remember the 1st one originally was going to be ps3 exclusive (hence the exclusive dlc over the years I expect-bit like Splinter Cell convictions exclusivity to xbox); the games generally seem to be optimized on ps3 slightly and is probably why the freezing issues I heard the 360 mp is having don't seem to happen on the ps3 version.
STICKzophrenic  +   719d ago
I may not have had a PS3 when the first released. I didn't get a PS3 at launch, I think I got it January 2009.
ALLWRONG  +   719d ago

extermin8or  +   719d ago
tbh I doubt it brotherhoods didn't after all; however personally exclusive timed or not dlc just pisses me off whatever console it's on; in the case of AC it does seem abit unfair on the 360 players as having started the dlc missions they are quite story driven it feels; otherwise I'd rather devs did whole games exclusive as I'm not going to buy another console for DLC that you ofc want me to then pay for again and equally I really dislike having a game no longer capable of being the complete version because there's extra content (particularly single player stuff) on another console. It's like when a developer releases one game multiplatform and then the sequel exclusive....
