Great list. I would personally place Skyward Sword at number 2. A Link to The Past would be 3. I'm one of the few who loved the art that Skyward Sword had. The paintbrush style is really fitting for the franchise, and the story was fantastic(even better the OoT story) but other things like not being completely open held it from number 1.

I would love to see the upgrade system return in the next game as well.

Skyward Sword really disappointed me when it came to the very very easy and short castles and very linear storyline, and Zelda games are all about various castles and big world. They made that game extremely easy and accessible, i wonder if they had the early fans in mind because i guess it's only them who buy and play Zelda games after all.

Yeah I rate Skyward Sword very highly, in many ways it's better than Ocarina of Time. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

i dont agree with the order but its hard to argue as they were all fantastic games.. Zelda 2 shouldnt be that low on the list.. If u give it a shot n keep at it, its a REALLY good game.. Challenging too

If Zelda 2 didn't have the world Zelda in the title, it'd of been a failed game that everyone would look back on and say "Well wasn't that a POS?"

Didn't read the article yet, but it should be pretty much drop dead last on the list. Above those CD-i Zelda games, though.

The CD-I games don't seem to exist in Nintendo's mind, they weren't on the timeline. They did give us things like this though.

Zelda II really is great, and deserves recognition. There are so many great games that this list really doesn't say a whole lot. Everything after the Four Swords and Spirit Tracks is awesome.

A good read! I too thought A Link to the Past was the best Zelda...but I pretty much like every one of the games in the series. I love the variety and life that the games bring...and its always exciting to see a new release.

A Link to The Past is my all time favorite. It's the most impressive Zelda game i ever played, still extremely enjoyable today !!
Zelda 64 got too old and has some issues like stiff movements due to the aging of the game. And Wind Waker is one i like the least in all zelda games. extremely boring during sailing sequences especially when i had to find the 8 triforce fragments and world map is not that good, add to that too short castles and very few of them...

I played through Spirit Tracks without playing Phantom Hourglass. I heard Spirit Tracks was better so I thought I might as well skip the first one. According to this list my sources were wrong. I might have to try Phantom Hourglass now!

It really comes down to opinion I guess. I enjoyed Phantom Hourglass a lot more than Spirit Tracks.

Hope you enjoy the game!
