"Even if it means being guilty of dumbing down the Internet."
"Yes I'll bloggers have written them be it gaming related or not."
Perfection.

Are you new to N4G?

In reality Kirby is mad that such a question was posed in the first place.

There are so many better thing we could be discussing even under the topic of gaming.

We should treat each other as noble gentlemen.

"Are Attention Grabbing Articles Bad for the Gaming Community?"

You mean like yours?
SilentNegotiator  +   746d ago
He's examining an issue. It's not entitled "Ps3 is d00med" for crap's sake.
Tzunoy  +   746d ago
well you might have a point with that PS3 bwuahahahahhhhhh!!!!
AngelicIceDiamond  +   746d ago
You mean the ones that start console flame wars. Because you know, those are the ones that "grab attention" more then half the time.

Sometimes it can be fun to see people fight over machines.

Lol at Kirby :)

They're bad in that they distract from other balanced, well researched articles. Still, they do tend to at least be interesting, especially the comments.

Sometimes an author will write an article with a trolling headline and then complain when fanboys flock to the comments to disagree. If they want those hits that trolling titles draw in they need to be prepared to reap what they sow.

Nothing worse than a butthurt blogger after trolling for hits.

Gaming was soo much better
before all the hyperbole, from a multitude of dimensions. People were alot less concerned with which console has bragging rights, and people just enjoyed games regardless of console/platform, that's what gaming should be.

I got to be honest, I don't remember this time period you speak of :). I used to argue with my friends in grade school about which was better, the SNES or the Genesis.
telekeneticmantis  +   746d ago
Did you make music videos
or parodies about how much you disliked their console. Did you have arguments that involved hundreds of people almost everyday of the year for 6 years...No?? That's what I'm saying
WiiUalpha  +   746d ago
Did we have the ability to do that back then? No. That is the only reason it didnt happen back then.

Who are we to say top ten lists, while annoying and numerous, aren't of value to someone? There is someone enjoying everything on the internet at all times so just because it doesn't float your boat doesn't mean it has no value.

Also, the title of the post is very ironic given that it's being shared on a site like N4G and, you know has to be attention grabbing.

And just like movies, music, games, books I will not condemn people for creating attention grabbing content that isn't actually that great. They have to make money, I'm not going to tell them not to do so. I'm an adult I can simply ignore something by clicking the close button, and I don't usually feel like making a fuss about it's content either.

Yes. Next question.
ninjabake  +   746d ago
Short answer: yes!! They make your "profession" and our hobby look like a joke.

Oh crap!...Kirby swallowed a strain of the T-Virus!
Gamerita  +   745d ago
N4G is all about attention & sex.
gumgum99  +   745d ago
Yes they are not very good for the community as, in my opinion, aremostly there to spark flames while fueling hits.

They make Kirby mad, and you should feel bad.
