Tin Salamunic: I can’t express enough reverence for Dodrill’s prestigious Dust: An Elysian Tail. The game is a testament of what a single person can accomplish with enough passion and determination. The end result is a beautifully orchestrated synthesis of skillful programming and exquisite craftsmanship. The game is visually stunning, fun to play, and a joy to explore. It’s an XBLA title that deserves a special place in your collection.
It's right that we recognize the 12 best indie games of the eight generation of gaming. It would be remiss to ignore the impact they've had.
Hollow Knight was a masterpiece. I cared less for the arena combat (Gods, not in the in-game arena) but everything was tight and the exploration was extremely enjoyable. Absolute masters of their craft in level design. I hope Silk Song gives the bees a second chance since their area was only a short subsection.
Mick Doherty has put together a list of indie games that, in his humble opinion, you need to play at least once in your life.
These are games made by a single developer. Serving as proof that you don't need millions of dollars and a team of people to make a amazing game.
I think you've over rated the game a little. Good review nonetheless.
But that's my point. The developer was able to achieve a level of quality that rivals most AAA titles, hence the praise. This is an excellent game, even if it was developed by an entire team of people instead of just one guy. :)
Great achievement for one guy definitely but ultimately a dull experience for me as all these metroid structured games are becoming after there being so many
I loved the game. The visuals and art direction are fantastic and the music is charming! I played through it twice to get the full 400 gs.
The 360 needs more games like this!
