Kinect 360 > wii because there is nothing they can lose(wiiremote) or break! I know this through trial and error!

While Wii might be better for kids looking for good core family appropriate games, Kinect is waaaaaaaaaaaay better if your trying to get the kids more active. It's too easy to fake out the Wii. Like faking out the old NES track pad. If you remember what that is, then you know what I'm talking about.

Wii has a lot more games for kids.

@above : lots of kids games on wii ont require much movement. wii is definitely more suitable for children.
the kinet type of experience confuses young children they dont understand how it works, i know this through trial too.

calibration process stand here stand there lift your hand children cant read in general.

The reading part comes from the parents actually taking part in their kid's activities. Kids learn very fast... after a couple game they will know what to do.

sorry but it's all about games and wii had much much more than any console.
that should seal the deal. children dont care what works best or not (not that kinect works well), they just want to control their cartoon heroes and only wii can do that. i have a kid i know what i'm talking about.
Kirby Channel and the games, Ben10, Phineas Ferb, mario, super hero squad...... the list is too long!!!

@below : games to move around kids dont play them all day long it's like 10min and they want sth else. Wii Sports 1 and 2 and Wario Ware game children like them. on 360 it's kinect sports and adventures ? sorry but wii sports works much better, especially Resort with motion +. 360 kinect games are just copy paste of wii games.
Wii wins it all for me.

The article is about what one would be better for kids that need to get up and moving around.

how about a bike, hell, even a football.
take em to a tennis court, a swimming pool, maybe they'll even enjoy playing cricket.

you could always get them to pretend to play sports, but surely the real thing is better.
