I actually agree, though I'm ashamed to admit it. Did a playthrough once with a buddy, and I actually kind of enjoyed it, if just for the laughs at how bad it is.
So you're one of THOSE guys... I already know arguing with you is useless, but come on... Almost FORTY games that are literally just reskins of the EXACT SAME game? It's a bareboned hack'n'slash game that requires virtually zero skill beyond some minor strategical awareness, the graphics have been nearly the exact same since Dynasty Warriors 3 (A game early on PS2 for crying out loud), and the game has had the same dull mechanics since the series adopted the 3D gameplay... It IS broken.
My friend is just like you. Perfectly willing to spend $120 on two copies of the game (Regular version and the Empires version) and will never admit that the game is crap now.
And seriously, what the hell kind of greedy ass dev does that? TWO exact copies of a game, one split for story mode, the other, for the strategy type mode... And sell them both for $60 each? Is their fanbase really that zombifed? Why can't they just stick the two together? It IS the exact same game... God, Dynasty Warriors is worthless just like the game's developers.
Honestly, if anything, you should be ashamed of yourself for supporting these guys.
Deadly Premonition really is a once in a generation game that surprises and confounds you. A lot of people don't get it because they can't look past the graphics (even though there are parts that have had a lot more graphical work done to them) or the wonky combat mechanics. However, if you give it a chance and go with it, you would find an oddly satisfying survival horror which explores paths that are rarely trodden upon.
Also, one of the very few games (Red Dead Redemption had a character underneath bed covers) that actually gets bed covers right. Even Heavy Rain with all it's technological superiority still couldn't get their main characters underneath bed covers.
I found it's controls aggravating and it's full of cheap deaths, getting killed from behind and such, but it's so bizarre and psychedelic it's worth playing..."Taste my Big Boner!".
Good pick. But to a greater extent, I'd say The Path of Neo. That game had sooooo much potential, but may have been a little too ambitious for its time (on a technical level). That game done right with a little more polish, length, and consistency with the movies could have been something special.
I know right! DayZ is a great game that provides you a sense like no other. Also servers are really not that hard to find, just get a server thats is half full or more and it'll work. The inventory system might not be the best, but if you fiddle around with it a bit, it isnt that bad. Certainly not bad enough to condemn the freaking game! It can be a bit glitchy at times, but again nothing major. DayZ really doesnt deserve to be on this list!
Agreed. Day Z may have a lot of bugs and connection issues, but it's not even a finished game atm! Why the hell would they put a game that's still in development on this list?
Servers took long to find and connect to about four months ago. Novadays there's hundreds of servers, most of which have open places. And novadays it takes about 1 minute to connect to server and maximum of 5, if you were to connect on a full server. I personally have experienced hardly any lag after 1.7 updates. DayZ doesn't really deserve to be on the list.
It hasn't changed. It keeps delivering the same, reliable, fun, kill over 100 hours on it's own experience every single game.
More than I can say for most franchises.

Everyone complains about it but I think it had the best controls, camera, levels and graphics (naturally) in the whole series.
