Ghost Recon Online [Review] – Back to war (IncGamers)

IncGamers: Have you heard of the bystander effect? This particular little psychological quirk basically means that, if lots of people witness an emergency, they’re less likely to act on it than if only one person had witnessed it. The reasons behind this are many and varied, but a fairly important one is diminished responsibility. There are other people, so I don’t have to do anything; they can do it. And anyway, if no-one else is doing anything, then maybe it’s not that much of an emergency. Right?

If you want to see it in action, then here’s a handy guide! Download Ghost Recon Online, play as any class other than the sniper-y Recon, and start joining matches. I doubt it’ll take long before you end up on a team with more Recons than the other two classes combined, and chances are good that all of those Recons will sit at the back of a room, sniping to little effect, while the enemy captures points and wins the game. Why would they switch to a submachine gun and go in close, taking points? The other Recons can do that, surely!

Ghost Recon: Phantoms Egg Hunt Weekend Announced and Detailed

Ubisoft Singapore have announced the Easter Egg Hunt for Ghost Recon: Phantoms, which will run for this weekend.

The description says that the Ghosts have "discovered that the Phantoms are staging a diabolical Egg Hunt", and that they are "using eggs to hide portions of a requisition code which was stolen from the Athena Armory and is redeemable there." The Ghosts find it "unacceptable" that they were excluded from this event, but they "don't know where the eggs are hidden, or the final sequence", so they have to find the eggs that were stolen by the Phantoms and then they get to "keep the prize".

Ubisoft Singapore did say that to make it fun for everyone, they are asking players to not share the coupon with others, as they will delete all posts and comments spoiling the coupon code, but you can share hints about the location of the codes.

Ghost Recon: Phantoms Patch 1.3.5 Issue Preventing Weapons from Firing

Ubisoft Singapore have announced that they are aware of bug in Ghost Recon: Phantoms, that was introduced in Patch 1.3.5 and is occasionally prevents certain players from firing their weapons. Players who face FPS fluctuations will potentially encounter the issue more often, so the developer recommends shutting down other programs running in the background, not use other 3rd party software like Fraps which could affect your FPS and/or toggling Vsync and window mode options.

They said that they are now working on a solution and that they will be hot-fixing the game during an emergency maintenance session on Monday 6th April 2015, but in the meantime, the best workaround for this bug is to walk up to a wall/cover to trigger the weapon up/down state, which should allow players to fire again.

Patch 1.3.5 includes five new beta maps, which you can find screenshots of here, as well as updated versions of seven other maps. The new maps are called Airport, Mansion, Bazaar, Moonlight and Raven Watch, while the updated maps are called Rig, Rooftop, Attica, Subpen, Nukes, The Gallery and Tomsk.
