Frankly, I think kids tend to get something of a raw deal when it comes to games. How can I put this...
Look at "kid's movies" like Disney's "The Lion King". It's a pretty serious story (I mean sure, it's essentially Hamlet with talking animals), and yet I understood it as a child. Similarly, I think games should make their stories a bit more accessible to kids without watering themselves down. If a serious story can't be told without being littered with F-bombs, I have a newsflash: it's not a serious story. It's just something written to appeal to 12-year-olds and their "big boy list of naughty words".

Kids gaming is mobile. They have ease of use and they have a easier time with it and they can start at such a young age. Also it is safe of rude ignorant people and mature content which makes it parent friendly.

The PS3 & Xbox 360 are 5 years years late to Nintendo Wii's party.

PS Vita almost 2 years late to Apple's, Android's & 3DS' kiddie party.

Nintendo owns 70% of Japanese console gaming market this week which is comprised of mainly of younger gamers.

The only constant in console gaming is change. Sony & M$ were to slow to adapt.
