People have a right to voice their opinion if they see a series that they adore starting to change for the better or worse. It's the developers fault for being yes men to the critics. But then again, if it's your patrons complaning, at the end of day you need to collect that check. Milk and bread don't buy itself.
Not so much "bowing down" as it is adding more content and backstory to The Saints and their related level(s) so people better understand who they are.
Okay. While I may have thought the backlash over Mass Effect 3's ending was a little extreme (all those moral choices, and it comes down to "choose this ending or that ending? The hell?!?!?) , I do NOT, however, think that fans have NO RIGHT to complain about a game if they don't like it. They are paying for it, after all.
And no, developers don't have to "bow down to the internet crybabies," as you so colorfully put it. They just do it because they realize that those crybabies... are also paying customers. If these people weren't paying for the game, do you think they'd care one way or another what they thought about their games?
As far as Absolution? I think the problem isn't about catering to the whiners. I bet it's more along the lines of "we changed this so much, not many people care about it anymore. OOPS!!!"
I've come to love that trailer. It's pretty gorgeous and well-made.
My only problem is the slut-nun assassins suddenly became quite scantily dressed and they don't act at all like trained assassins, but I know it's all effects the developer wanted. Maybe the nuns thought 47 would be distracted by miles-long legs and catholic lingerie outfits. But, why walk together as easy targets? They must be quite full of themselves.
And I like some context to why they go as nuns. It's a change I like. I hope the whole game doesn't suddenly become action-packed, guns blazing.
The way I see it if I was a developer I'm not gonna make changes to the game cause a bunch of ppl gonna cry about it developers need to understand you can't please everybody
I Dont care about changes in the game. I do however care about the changes in the franchise as a whole, Hitman was never about over the top explosions or gunfights with slutty nuns. Its all about stealth and various different ways to accomplish your goal. When i saw that trailer i thought to myself that it was just another franchise trying to be what it isnt, something that has been happening alot this generation.
Im glad that my fellow crybabies stuck to their guns and because of it Hitman wont, probably, turn into another generic and boring game something that has happened alot this generation with many franchises.
i think hitman has a more niche market than other types of games and the market is very dedicated to hitman games and get concerned when they see the devs drift away from the uniqueness that made them fans. in some cases it is good to listen to them. look at zipper interactive. there was nothing but people warning them on the socom4 forums that their new direction was not what they wanted. socom4 undersold and zipper interactive was disbanded
Im confused, everybody here is moaning because fans let their voices be heard. But if its on disc DLC rant and fans wanted their voices to heard because they got ripped of then its ok?
i im very excited about this game. devs are trained to make games unlike the moaners that are trained to moan about everything. if you don't like it don't buy it. buy the older versions of the hitman you like. its that simple. stop acting like kids that feels like your entitled for something
Funny, I didn't think the game lacked stealth or silent kills cause he was killing these would-be assassins. To my mind, i thought this was a segment of the game where you had to busy cause they where out to getcha! Guess when gamers aren't gaming, they have to much time on their collective hands.
Tell you what how about you stop complaining, BUY a game or two and let the devs do their job. You got Darksiders 2, Sleeping Dog and Borderlands 2 (coming up).
Well, I just watched the trailer. And the only thing I can say is that if this industry is in trouble, it's because of gamers, not developers. I am convinced now that gamers are simply less intelligent in this generation, and have lost the capacity to have an imagination and embrace new ideas. They always say they want new ideas or new execution of old ideas, and when you give them what they ask for, they fucking cry about it. And that's what we have here.
A hit squad disguised as nuns? YOU BASTARDS! I wanted something new, but not different from before!
This industry is going to crash and it's because of gamers demanding the same shit over and over again.
I wish they would start a Kickstarter with a fan made game. It would probably be bad, and then all the people that contributed to the bad game would shut up. Too many opinions leads to an overflow of ideas that don't mesh well.
You can say you want a "Robot Ninja Zombie Killer Real Time Strategy Rpg Adventure" all you want, but if you can't make the concept into a feasible package then it's going to end up bad.

I not so sure about that, he knew that those nuns were assassins and that they were coming for him :)
Am I missing something here?
Everybody has a right to complain... EVERYBODY!
Games are supposed to be made the way the team intended.
Devs: You can normally tell how a game is doing by it's sales. Shh don't tell anyone. And that goes to insomniac. You changed too much in re2.
Who complains about a trailer? It was cinematic with no gameplay. Keep on truckin' IO!
pathetic indeed
go laid ppl seriously
