1UP- The Skylanders franchise, to the untrained eye, looks like something developed in a management board room, much like the He-Man and Transformers cartoons of the '80s -- engineered solely to sell children the next wave of toys. Compounding the negative aura around the budding new franchise is the fact that the publisher is Activision, noted for their oversaturation of the Guitar Hero and Call of Duty franchises.
As such, Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure appeared to be a hollow game meant to ensnare children in a Pokemon-like fashion when it saw the light of day in early 2011. The truth is that while the game's mission might be to make money, Skylanders' soul is firmly planted in the realm of great video games.
The 2010s occupy a difficult time slot in the world of gaming. The games aren't new enough to be "cool" but they aren't old enough to be "retro." So basically, they're cheap. Ghetto Gamer contributor Hyp3rblue digs deep--but not too deep--into gaming's past to see what we may have just missed.
Asura's Wrath was underrated and the dlc was one of the few times i actually felt like a dlc was worth the money.
Everytime I see a picture of Asura's Wrath I get a moment of happiness for knowing that niche game and then the realization of why it failed with the DLC that made me hate Capcom to the point of saying I wouldn't buy a game of theirs again!
(bought DMC5 on release)
well I agree this list is terrible. Had to click just to see how bad it was. If someone wanted to know wt the best games were this decade and stumbled upon this list they would think "wt happened to gaming in the 2010's" lol
The successes of Ratchet and Clank and the Crash-themed Easter eggs shown in Uncharted 4, have a lot of individuals hopeful for a new game. Yet, we have heard that Activision holds the rights to franchise the beloved bandicoot. With their focus on releasing the next Call of Duty, would it be worth their time to make money on nostalgia?
If Sony released a new Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon games on PS4 I would literally flip out and scream like a little girl
Crash, spyro, gex, croc, tombi, medievil... They need to come back, for the love of the platform gaming!

It's going to evaporate parents' wallets.
good game really is,but why did they murder spyro
They rapped Spyro and it milks money out of parents for those crappy little toys. This DOES NOT deserve our attention, it's worse then what Activision do to COD. Buy a figure for £6 so you can unlock a little section on the disc...thats like what Capcom do when they disc lock content.
It's the same as collecting baseball cards or comics.
It does deserve your attention if you're a parent and have kids that are into this.
I can't believe this hasn't been done with Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh.
Sony had Eye of Judgement but it wasn't marketed towards the kids but to me that was a great idea.
I don't even recall the last time I ever purchased an Activision game, but definitely not going to play this. I am not some 12 year old with billionaire parents handling every game to me on a silver platter. This game tends to market to that demographic.
