The learning curve is non-existent, and it's also pretty competitive for Mario Kart veterans.
They changed the mini-turbos you gain by drifting into being automatic, because they thought that "snaking" from MKDS and MKDD was cheating. That has completely ruined the series for me. Snaking requires thumbmuscles and precision = SKILL and now with the auto-turbo-drifting along with the bad item balance the game is about LUCK... SOLELY!
It is the worst in the series for me. It is not a bad game, it just really disappointed me.
