For a remastered version of a one year old game those sales are really impressive.

Lightning Mr Bubbles3530d ago (Edited 3530d ago )

Those are very solid numbers for most AAA games, but for a PS3 port, that's just criminal. Naughty Dog should be in jail.

But I mean that in a good way.

Lightning Mr Bubbles3530d ago

Not really, just kidding on that last comment. I think is was a great and noble thing to bring TLOU to PS4, it's a great game that PS4 adopters who didn't have a PS3 should be able to play.

It's good for both gamers and to get the game even more exposure, because as many people as possible should experience TLOU. It's a great game.

And I know it's more than just a port.

NatureOfLogic_3530d ago (Edited 3530d ago )

So this ioi guy who is a known Xbox fanboy that runs Vgchartz, says he doesn't believe Sony's official numbers of 10 million sold because he can't find where he guessed wrong? So PS4 will remained under tracked by more than 600k units. Lmao

Mr Pumblechook3530d ago (Edited 3530d ago )

This website must be making stuff because they always under track PS4 figures and overstate the Xbone figures.

Blood Tears on the VG Chartz comments section said it best:
"The original games has gone on to sell more than 4.5 million units." What a joke! It passed 7 million copies already on the original, Sony already confirmed it. Much like 10 million PS4's and once again, no adjustments. Pathetic!"

frenchtoast3530d ago

I don't think this number is accurate, but I'm also wary of believing the 1.5 mil number, because if they had sold 1 million, they would have sent out a press release or something.

BarneyS3530d ago

The fact that they always adjust Xbox numbers after MS releases sales (shipped) numbers without asking questions is even more pathetic. But when Sony does it they don't beleive it..

aCasualGamer3529d ago (Edited 3529d ago )

Don't trust VGChartz and their sources.

They have PS4 at 9,4 million units sold. Sony announced that they had sold more than 10 million units.

That's an error of about 600 000 units. I don't care what kind of sources they have but that's alot of units they missed out on in their calculations.

TomShoe3529d ago

Ewwwwwwww

Gantrfaxx3529d ago

And it's not any year old game. It's a hell of a game.

Congrats to Naughty Dog.

So glad people are still seeking for unique and different games such as this.

I thought COD and BF brainwashed people to the point they wouldn't even glance at a game such as this.

We need more TLOU type of quality in our industry.

AngelicIceDiamond3530d ago

Whoa didn't know there were sensitive COD and BF fans in here reading this.

You don't come across many games like TLOU everyday in the game industry.

Its a welcome whenever they are they made.

Hk85karlsson3529d ago

Yes we do. A game where story is critical and the actors deliver on their part where the characters become semi-real (almost real to me at least).

This is the type of game I want to play.

medman3529d ago

First of all, these are vgchartz bullshit numbers...not to be believed at all. I'm sure TLOU for ps4 sold much higher, if this pathetic sites history is to be accounted for.

Blaze9293529d ago

wasn't there an article saying this game sold 1 million copies or so in the first 24 hours? What happened?

Spotie3529d ago

VGChartz happened.

I'd put more faith in the numbers the fleas on my dog guessed than anything this site puts out.

Or what? Is VGChartz believable now?

FanboyKilla3526d ago

just ask naughty dog. i dont here them thanking their customers for helping them sell one million in a night. soooooo..... i doubt it. sony never has a problem posting positive numbers.

hey six hundred thousand isnt bad. it is the same game they just sold to the public about a year ago. how many of that six hundred thousand, do you believe are new to tlou? im willing to bet no where near as many the number of returning ps loyalist.

so kudos to nd and sony, they sold the samething twice. that has to account for something. and i think it says great game, but also, a lack of greatness. no pun intended. though it is kind of funny and ironic.

BitbyDeath3530d ago

I thought this was legit when I read the title... nope just VGChartz :-(

Ezz20133530d ago (Edited 3530d ago )

same resction

Lolchartz is being Lolchartz

FarEastOrient3530d ago

This website still has the PS4 under tracked by 800,000 units. Sony already reported 10 mil and this has them at 9.2 mil.

amiga-man3530d ago

VGChartz had very little credibility before but to deny Sony has sold 10 million consoles when it has already been confirmed by Sony themselves just proves how laughable this site is.

Eonjay3530d ago

The site admin ioi has responded about why they wont update their figures to 10 Million. They said that the reason they are missing 600k PS4 in their numbers is because they can't figure out what regions they are down in.

"...If Sony is to be believed..." is a quote from the site Admin.

FarEastOrient3530d ago

They can't figure out what regions they're down in because they guessed wrong.

Ezz20133530d ago

OMG WOW
did he really said that ?

MasterCornholio3530d ago

""...If Sony is to be believed..." is a quote from the site Admin."

Sounds like someone who's extremely butthurt said that.

Why o why3530d ago (Edited 3530d ago )

Time to finally get them out of here

Oh...... but n4g has some kinda deal with them.....take from that what you will

The irony of vgc questioning sonys official numbers is off the chartz

N4g Integrity............

TheBreezyBB3530d ago

It baffles me why some people still this made up site!!

Lawboy23530d ago (Edited 3530d ago )

"The Last of Us Remastered is an updated version of the PlayStation 3 smash hit The Last of Us. The original games has gone on to sell more than 4.5 million units."

What...the original game has already sold just south of 7 million before the ps4 version....this article is wrong or they have old numbers...technically it's worded right...but better wording would have been "the original version has gone on to sell more than 6 million units"

Underworld3530d ago (Edited 3530d ago )

I'm confused about how much the PS3 version of The Last of Us sold. Is the 7 million number sold to consumers or retail? I don't think it was said.

NatureOfLogic_3530d ago

Vgchartz tracks shipped to retailers. At least that's what they said when defending MS over tracked numbers.

Underworld3529d ago (Edited 3529d ago )

That's not what they've told me. I emailed them months ago asking about it and they told me they track sold to consumers. I think they've pointed it out on their site a few times too.

bloodybutcher3530d ago

To be fair, 7 milionsis more than 4,5m, so he is correct xD

trunkswd3530d ago

That is short of what Cowen & Company analyst Doug Creutz expected and not Sony.

Bathyj3530d ago

Man, you try waaay to hard.

LeCreuset3530d ago

Your troll attempt is as pitiful as it is transparent.

Rimeskeem3530d ago (Edited 3530d ago )

You trust 1 analyst now?

Don Mattrick once said that the first console to reach 10 million sales it wins the generation.

Revengeance3529d ago

Lol your troll attempts get dumber by the day! It's obvious you wanted this game to fail because no games on 360 or XB1 are as good as TLOU :)

marioJP873530d ago (Edited 3530d ago )

10 million PS4s available. You'd expect it to break at least 1 million by almost a month of availability. Welp, im one of those 600,000 who bought it.

DarXyde3530d ago

Key words: "Opening Week". If sales are consistently high like this, a month, or approximately 4 weeks, would probably yield 2.4 million units.

Let's revisit this conversation next week.

LeCreuset3530d ago

"Let's revisit this conversation next week, using real sales data instead of numbers generated by VGC's rectum."

Fixed.

LordMaim3529d ago

Then again if you believe VGChartz, PS4 has only sold 9.4 million PS4s.

Why would this number be any more accurate, especially since it doesn't count digital sales?

The Last Of Us Series Has Remarkable Potential For Spin-Offs

Najam from eXputer writes "It's time fore a new installment in the series, not another pointless remaster."

anast75d ago

They are working on something new. Not to be rude but it is impossibility stupid to think ND next major announcement is going to be a remaster or their next Last of Us entry is going to be another remaster.

AlterRecs72d ago

I think this is in response to them releasing a remaster for the sequel, a game that didn't need a remaster.

Basically a "why did you put out a remaster no one asked for when you have all there options available"

anast72d ago

They remaster is to put out something quick while they are deving new stuff. I don't get how people can be so static.

AlterRecs71d ago

There's no news about a third game being in production, you're just assuming that they're working on something that they aren't

anast71d ago

When they release the news to start the hype-train, you can give me my props then.

DrDoomer75d ago

I want an alternate timeline spin-off, where part 2 never happened.

CrimsonWing6975d ago

They’ve already done Remasters of 1 and 2… what else is there to Remaster?

AlterRecs72d ago

Considering they remastered the first game twice, who knows lol

CrimsonWing6972d ago

That was a Remake. I guess they could do that to 2, but man…. They should wait a couple generations so it can look like a major upgrade.

100%, locked 60fps and still look great all these years later, same with the expansion, definitely worth a look if people haven't played it yet, not the best games ever made but a good experience, hopefully a new infamous gets released

KwietStorm_BLM96d ago

Never was my favorite infamous, but it was definitely a graphics showcase early on PS4. Still plays well with the unlocked frame rate.

SDuck96d ago

Still remember getting hyped about this game nearing release. Funny because I never even got a PS4. Jumped from PS3 to PC so I never played it ahahaha

OmegaSoldati96d ago

Its a good game. But thats it. Congratulations you made the best choice. I dream to have a great PC one day.

Profchaos96d ago (Edited 96d ago )

Graphically It's a absolutely stunning game that still holds up today.

Didn't have all that much depth to it forcing you to play though twice for a platinum trophy a good and bad run it was a little disappointing how similar those were Delsin would be like I'm not doing that for you in a cutscene but the cutscene would play out and force you to do it anyway just as you would of in a good run

I did like the story however it got a lot of complaints back in the day people hated playing as Delsin instead of cole despite Coles story being wrapped up.

Overall though the map wasn't overly saturated with useless points of interest there was some collectibles and things to find but nothing compared to a Ubisoft game.

I think it was a good game if a little hollow I've played it through around 4 times now since it's so short.

Also it's DLC was great a full story expansion
