In an interview on the PlayStation Blogcast, Sony Xdev’s Tom O’Connor has revealed that level size in LittleBigPlanet 3 will be limited only by your console’s hard drive. New level "stitching" functionality will allow creators to join multiple levels together, effectively eliminating the restrictions of previous games.
Isaac Clarke of Dead Space fame has appeared in many games, both as a playable character and an Easter Egg. Have you played them all?
Classic LittleBigPlanet servers are to be shut down permanently following hacks.
Sony’s drastic move comes after months of downtime for the older games.
It was fun while it lasted. And some of the user created stuff was a blast to play with.
Have to say I expected them to be permanently shut down problem would be in the underlying server architecture and possibly something like a depricated authentication protocol which has to be replaced that the PS3, PSP and vita can't support which is why they can't be securely restored on those consoles but the PS4 does support it.so lbp3 was restored on that.
Given the attackers were able to breach the server there was obviously a fear of lateral movement once inside their servers so I can't blame them for this and it makes sense despite the huge blow to the community millions of hours spent building that community.
Despite this blow I believe the millions of creations are going to be available via lbp3 and it's capability of backwards compatibility with user generated content so that's something to be thankful for still not a huge consolation to the many players who only own a older console but unfortunately that's the world we live in these games are old the older they get the more insecure the servers get which the company that make them.host them on and the more likely they need to be shut down.
Understandable they had to do this better to be safe then sorry. I just wish those right wing racists that hacked the servers and started posting homophobic slurs would get want they deserve a good few decades in prison.
BY JOHN SANTINA: Should you introduce your kids to the world of gaming with retro or modern games? Super Mario Bros. or New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe? The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past or Breath of the Wild? Does Timmy seem more like a Tetris kinda kid or a GTA Online kinda kid?
Being a parent is, without a doubt, the most rewarding life choice I have made on this planet (I’m equally proud of the life choices I have made on other planets, but we’ll talk about those another time). It fills me with joy to know that my legacy will live on through my scruffy little gamepad destroyers.
But, being a parent comes with responsibility. Our children need food, somewhere safe to live, not to mention lots of love, encouragement, attention, and someone to check for monsters under the bed.
Modern, retro games do not have the best controls/response a lot of the time. That's how I/we did it.
GTA vice city followed by Silent Hill 2. i want my kid to harden the f**k up cause the world aint a peach :)
I’d start them with modern games. Definitely things like Mario 3, Mega Man, Contra, Castlevania, etc. whip ‘em into shape and have some appreciation for the old school.
I'm going to fire up the SNES and try her with Mario World and Mario Kart, seems appropriate. She'd probably think it was funny beating me up on Streetfighter.
Retro simply because the size of the controller is smaller and less buttons to navigate. The games don't matter as much because it's their first time experiencing video games. They don't know any better, unlike us gaming veterans 😉
Not having a thermo limit is huge for this franchise.
That's it. This game has just become a creator's best friend. I can't wait to see the infinite possibilities that will inevitably be manifested in this game. I was blown away by what people could do on LBP 1 & 2. LBP 3 is basically limitless, and that both scares and excites me.
Well this is going to get interesting once the community gets a hold of it. I am going to be played a lot of different types of games on LBP3
I wonder what the first 1GB game will be like?
This officially nullifies my interest in project spark.
