Nintendo’s Wii U has not had the greatest start since its initial release in late 2012. With an unfortunate lack of games, sales for the console have never been anything to write home about. Maybe 2014 will finally be Nintendo's year. At least Mario Kart 8 helped to move some consoles.

Id say smash bros is really going to be my personally favorite wii u game of the year. Melee was incredible, brawl was even better. Hopefully it isnt delayed to 2015. when that happened to brawl i was so mad.

But Brawl getting delayed arguably resulted in a better game. Nintendo is known for this: they just don't hurry the development process to meet a street date. If they feel that the game can be improved, or it just isn't ready yet, they WILL delay it.

And the amount of polish and technical expertise present in pretty much every Nintendo game isn't any coincidence. Nintendo respects their developers and give them the resources they need to make their games properly. Time is a very important factor for that. Other companies could learn a thing or two from them in that regard.

I'm convinced they delayed Smash 3DS for balancing reasons. They said they were playtesting the game and at the Invitational tournament they said they were still balancing characters. When they finish the 3DS game, they'll probably apply all of those nerfs, buffs and other fixes into the Wii U version. Personally I hope they don't delay the latter as they need that holiday release to push a lot of Wii Us.

Starting to seriously contemplate getting a wii U with some of the games schedules to come out over the next year or so.

Do it! I was like you once... And then I bought one! ;)

Starscream863582d ago

Nintendo made a smart move with the free game offer with mario kart 8. The next wave of games due out is going to make things even better.

When I first saw Devils Third I really did want it, I'm not so sure anymore. I hope its change in hands was for the better.

Nioh games definitely up there at the top alongside Ninja Gaiden BLK.

LoveSpuds463d ago

There is a decent fan base for the Nioh games, but still think they are criminally overlooked and under appreciated.

I just bought the PS5 collection to replay them again with all their DLC, a sweet collection for my games shelf for sure.

Yea, those gardens haven't been plowed in over 10 years now though. Imagine if they cultivated it, let it grow again.

Amazing what ya can do with a samurai sword lol 🤣

tehpees3464d ago

The honourable mention though.

TheSenorCheese464d ago

originally it wasn't going to be included because of their take on Samus' character. But the gameplay's actually not bad.

Vits463d ago

Honestly, I don't know if we can even blame them for that take. Nintendo's Sakamoto was credited as the writer and from what we learned later with the Retro Studios interviews for the Prime series, Nintendo apparently never saw Samus as this stoic badass that most of the west imagined her as. Going as far as describing her as "motherly".

Ninja Gaiden was dope but I don't really care for alot of their games.

Why Bayonetta 3 Is a Step Down From Its Predecessor

Many fans have been expressing their disappointment with Bayonetta 3. Here's why the recently released game is a clear step down from Bayonetta 2.

MadLad499d ago (Edited 499d ago )

Yet the Switch is much more powerful than the Wii U - the platform the second game released on. So you're just being negative to be negative with that comment.

anast499d ago

The voice acting wasn't as good...

jBlakeeper499d ago

Bayonetta herself doesn’t even look as good design wise.

-Foxtrot498d ago

I thought they focused on big kaiju like fights which felt gimmicky and thy brought this new character in to try and get away from the leading star

*Spoilers*

I mean they pretty much killed 3 big characters. They killed Jeanne, Luka and Bayonetta herself and it's not the fact they died it's how they died, we've seen Jeanne and Bayonetta survive countless things yet they go out by the lamest ways possible.
