I agree with this list but Ryse would be number 1.

The character models in Ryse were awesome. No current gen level looks better than The King level in Ryse. The foliage is unrivaled

And Battlefield 4 looks more realistic and has better shading than Killzone

I would say Ryse comes after Infamous Second Son and the Order 1886, personally.

I would also add Driveclub, it doesn't get enough credit for how beautiful it is.

@Tex

That's what Mr. X said about infamous but then he got owned by the developers. In general 1st party titles on the PS4 dont suffer downgrades.

ziggurcat3584d ago

@texag2011:

"The order in it's final state yet. You can't judge that until it releases."

we've actually seen *upgrades* between its initial announcement, and its latest gameplay footage... so your argument falls flat on its face.

@texag2011

You better read this to clear your foggy mind.

MasterCornholio3584d ago (Edited 3584d ago )

@Tex

No Tex. The single player runs in 1080P so it wasn't downgraded. Only the multiplayer runs in 1080i.

@Spotie

Yeah I'm getting tired of "butt Ryse". Seriously its an launch game and there will be games after it that will look better than it.

SniperControl3584d ago

@NextLevel

Spot on about Driveclub, have been very impressed with what i have seen so far.
There are a few 1080p captures floating about, jeez, it looks absolutely beautiful.

@lifeisgames:

you should at least have played the games you're attempting to downplay.

all of the "facts" you've presented are opinions.

but the list is accurate - those are the 4 best-looking games out right now.

Spotie3584d ago

Xbox fans will be riding Ryse to the grave, it seems. Graphically, it was immediately eclipsed by Killzone, then Infamous. I'd argue The Show and Battlefield, too, in many aspects. Uncharted and The Order will be next, but Xbox fans will still be talking about Ryse.

Gozer3584d ago (Edited 3584d ago )

Lol, you don't have a clue. There is nothing currently on the market that can touch Ryse visually.

These...

SniperControl3584d ago (Edited 3584d ago )

@gozer

You need to google "infamous photo mode" and see what pops up, heres a few teasers.

http://gearnuke.com/infamou...

http://beginnerstech.co.uk/...

http://i.kinja-img.com/gawk...

All the above are in-game, also amazes that Infamous is an open world game that uses far more resources than ryse, a on rails linear experience.

Gozer3584d ago (Edited 3584d ago )

lifeisgamesok

I agree. I was floored by how good Ryse looks. To the folks that are saying only the character models look good, you need to look again. The enviroments are gorgeous as well. Like you said, "The King" level is jaw dropping. Ive been gaming 34 years, and Ryse is the best looking game I have ever seen. There are times that the graphics are near photorealistic.

starchild3584d ago

I only own a PS4 and PC, but I can definitely see that Ryse looks incredible. Could be number one, I'm not sure. But nobody can deny it is easily one of the best.

GW2123584d ago

I don't believe anything you say. Nothing. I don't believe you've really seen any footage of the game outside of YouTube. We all know the deal there. If you had, you'd be saying something different rather than being the blind little kid you always are on this site. It's obnoxious. Pathetic and obnoxious.

To your last point: trust me, kiddo, you don't gross more than I do.

Magicite3584d ago

AC4 on PC looked stunning (foliage, weather, sea).
Beyond Two Souls impressed me more than Ryse.
What is Mario doing on this list?

assdan3584d ago

Pretty sure that the character models in infmaous are more detailed. I agree with three games on this list though. Ryse, Killzone, and Infamous. But I'm sorry, Mario kart? They were clearly just trying to throw nintendo fans a bone.

iplay1up23583d ago

Not really. If you play Mario Kart. If you look around the tracks it is almost like everything is alive. It is really a beautiful game. When You use slow motion, you can see even more detail than you realize is there during the race, because there is just so much going on.

Killzone visuals are top-tier. The lighting in Killzone still makes my jaw drop. Particle effects too. Amazing game, and the new maps cant be touched!

Volkama3584d ago

They pale in comparison to the Particle Explosion Future Systems and 21,000 frames per millisecond of Battleblock Theatre.

mayberry3584d ago

Killzone might pale in comparison to that and many other games, but it still rocks the visuals my friend.

starchild3584d ago

Agreed. Killzone Shadow Fall looks incredible and it doesn't seem to get enough credit. It looks just as good as Infamous Second Son to me.

DerekFlint0073584d ago

I'm still waiting for the real jaw droppers to arrive later on down the line, strangely Infamous Second Son never really gave me that wow factor, granted the sheer amount of stuff happening on screen at times is a real technical marvel but i didn't like the art style. Metal Gear ground zeroes can look amazing at times and then elsewhere can be pretty bland for me. Wolfenstein looked and ran great.

I have been most impressed with Asssasin's Creed black flag. Watching dolphins jumping out of the water, while the ocean waves crash along the deck of the Jackdaw for me is a sight to behold.

starchild3584d ago

I agree with you that Assassin's Creed 4 is really impressive looking. One of the best looking games I have played this year.

BTW, have you played Tomb Raider Definitive Edition? I think that game is easily one of the best looking games I have played on my PS4. I often find myself thinking that it even beats Killzone Shadow Fall and Infamous Second Son. It's hard to say, though. They're all incredible looking games.

DerekFlint0073584d ago

Yeah, i forgot about Tomb Raider, although i have not played it yet, it does look absolutely superb, i may pick it up over the weekend.

As you say though they are all incredible looking games, i can't wait to see Uncharted in action. The future games will look amazing and improve over time.

Meltic3584d ago (Edited 3584d ago )

Good Graphics but all the games story mode wasnt good. Infamous was Ok but the other ones didint Catch up. Remember good old gaming Days when Graphics wasnt a big deal. The developers concentrated more on the storyline now its only graphic graphic... Graphic is a + but a good storyline is better to play over and over again.

HaveSumNuts3584d ago (Edited 3584d ago )

Most of those games put graphics over gameplay.

Geekman3584d ago

No, TWO of them did. Infamous and Mario Kart had excellent gameplay.

CrowbaitBob3584d ago

I really enjoyed Killzone and Ryse.

Ryse was repetitive as heck, but I loved the combat so I didn't mind doing the same enjoyable thing over and over again.

I feel like Killzone did some really interesting things with the OWL. I love being able to essentially flank enemies with the OWL in single player. It just feels really tactical compared to more straight forward shooter campaigns.

I'm not much of a multiplayer gamer though so I'm certainly not going to speak to whatever the online multiplayer components were like. I enjoy single player campaigns and both Ryse and Killzone delivered for me on those fronts.

herbs3584d ago

Only one of these games has excellent gameplay to go along with its vibrant graphics at a rock solid 60fps = MarioKart.
Killzone = Very pretty very generic shooter.
Ryse = Awesome repeating character models with not so awesome repeating QTEs
Infamous = Gorgeous visuals with a stuttering framerate and repetitive short lived gameplay thats completely devoid of any challenge, basically made for children and casuals...

Looking Ahead: The Lingering Questions About the Next Mario Kart

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "10 years. It’s been almost 10 years since the last mainline release in the Mario Kart series. Mario Kart 8 came out for the Wii U in 2014 and became the best-selling game for the system by a sizeable margin, and later pulled the same magic trick on the Nintendo Switch under the stage name Deluxe. All in all, it's sold nearly 70 million copies over the last decade and is still selling like hot cakes to this day, so it’s no wonder Nintendo has been in no rush to replace it. However, with rumors of a new system being just around the corner, and reports a few years back that a new Mario Kart is indeed under way, it seems the era of 8 might very well be drawing to a close. It’s an exciting prospect to be sure, but after two Nintendo systems with Mario Kart 8 at their heart, a lot of questions remain about how Nintendo will choose to follow it up."

I hope they just keep building on Mario Kart 8; Add a track-creation tool, and probably open it up to more Nintendo IPs with new tracks and characters, so Metroid, Punch Out, Starfox, Animal Crossing, etc etc.

gold_drake6d ago

there wont be a new one until the switch 2 comes out.

nintendo needs their bangers early on

How Does inFAMOUS Second Son Hold up 10 Years Later?

inFAMOUS Second Son was one of PS4's best exclusives, but does it hold up a decade later?

100%, locked 60fps and still look great all these years later, same with the expansion, definitely worth a look if people haven't played it yet, not the best games ever made but a good experience, hopefully a new infamous gets released

KwietStorm_BLM97d ago

Never was my favorite infamous, but it was definitely a graphics showcase early on PS4. Still plays well with the unlocked frame rate.

SDuck97d ago

Still remember getting hyped about this game nearing release. Funny because I never even got a PS4. Jumped from PS3 to PC so I never played it ahahaha

OmegaSoldati96d ago

Its a good game. But thats it. Congratulations you made the best choice. I dream to have a great PC one day.

Profchaos97d ago (Edited 97d ago )

Graphically It's a absolutely stunning game that still holds up today.

Didn't have all that much depth to it forcing you to play though twice for a platinum trophy a good and bad run it was a little disappointing how similar those were Delsin would be like I'm not doing that for you in a cutscene but the cutscene would play out and force you to do it anyway just as you would of in a good run

I did like the story however it got a lot of complaints back in the day people hated playing as Delsin instead of cole despite Coles story being wrapped up.

Overall though the map wasn't overly saturated with useless points of interest there was some collectibles and things to find but nothing compared to a Ubisoft game.

I think it was a good game if a little hollow I've played it through around 4 times now since it's so short.

Also it's DLC was great a full story expansion

I've played 15, and I wouldn't consider any of those underrated TBH. Some of them are pretty high rated.

banger88128d ago

That's amazing, Gamingbolt actually put all 15 games on the same page.

shinoff2183127d ago

I. Not seeing anything on that list underrated. I never played concrete genie, the ASTRO vr,and one other but I forgot the name already. Nothing on there was underrated at all imo.

persona4chie127d ago

There’s only 4 of those games I never played, and no most of those aren’t underrated.
