Comparing Watch Dogs to GTA V... Biggest joke and a disrespect to R*.

mikeslemonade3585d ago

Watch Dogs looks better when you compare the current gen versions to last gen GTA5. And Watch Dogs has stealth elements.

If you compare open world Vs open world..
GTA V offers significantly more, you can fly, drive, use boats and submarines.

Watch dogs you can drive mainly and jump walls like free running (A little).

They are very different games, but in the open world context GTA wins, because there is soo much more you can do.

Any game going up against gtav is going to fall short they been working on how they want their game world to be since it was 2D how is not being better than them in every category a negative. You can say this about every urban open world game. I would have enjoy LA true crimes, watch dogs, saints row etc if I had this dumb mentality. Sounds like gamers love how every game is becoming a copy and paste job. No wonder why gaming is becoming stale

- Drive-Bys ARE at least possible on Watch Dogs. Play with a friend and one of you can shoot out the passenger window.
Also, it's unnecessary for the main game.

- Yeah, Watch Dogs' licensed music wasn't as good as GTAV's. It's pretty bad actually. But GTAV's music wasn't all that great either.
However I do have to point out that the original music in Watch Dogs is pretty good.

- The reason why Aiden can't go around punching random citizens is because he's supposed to protect people. There are plenty of side missions in Watch Dogs where your goal is to stop crimes. There's not such thing in GTA cause everyone's a psychopath.
I do wich Aiden had a lot more take down animations. I wanted to beat up a certain character by the end of the game, but couldn't because Aiden's only close combat move is a single-button prompt.
Also Sleeping Dogs' hand-to-hand > GTA.

- Yup.

Both of these games try to accomplish completely different things...

Forget the actual quality and individuality of each title. Let's just compare the shit out of them as both are open world and based in a city.

hkgamer3585d ago

can these games really be compared?

seems like watch dogs isnt really the same type of open world like gta, saints row, sleeping dogs.

i mean its similar, but its almost like comparing gta with infamous or the new gtaV.

just because it is open world does not mean its the same type of game to compare.

GTA wins by a landslide, it's not even a contest.

Cost of realistic looking movement.

Rockstar need to learn that 12 years of work and 5000 employees doesn’t account for one persons opinion on the internet…

Oh and hundreds of millions of dollars in revanue to boot.

Lots of complaints about gta ever since the hd era started and yet it's bugger than its ever been with gta vi up to 180 million trailer views alone. The next game is shaping it be be another genre defining game

MetalGearsofWar36d ago

They already learned they dont have to actually make a great game

sagapo36d ago

The controls of RDR2 felt a but cluncky indeed, but it’s not as bad as some make it out to be. At no point did I get the feeling my experience with the game was held back or ruined by the controls.
But it can never hurt to optimize them a bit, sure.

Zhipp35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

I did accidentally beat someone to death a couple times. An unfortunate mistake but besides that I didn't have any problems with the controlls

jznrpg36d ago

Red Dead Redemption felt clunky at first but I got used to it fairly quick. I thought 2 was easier to control but it could be my experience with the first game helped me out. Great games

Profchaos36d ago

I wouldn't call Rockstar games characters clunky instead they feel like they move with Weight they are not twitch controls press x to instantly snap onto cover the characters instead move like a actor would ducking behind cover they are exposed while they get there.
