I Love it AngelicDiamond first sets the rules then claims victory. So, tell me, what exactly is an Indie? What do you consider AAA? You mention Scalebound and Phantom Dust as AAA, neither of which is AAA in my book. The only thing we saw was CGI and even that wasn't AAA quality, not by a long shot. Then you mention a game that has not even been announced (Gears of War 4), I mean come on man how biased can you get? By the way, Im just curious where you draw the line for "indie" exactly. I mean, is Helldivers an indie? because thats coming out this year. Then, you exclude Free to Play, and Im not sure why those can't be considered games, especially when they look as good as Deep Down, also coming this year. Planet side 2? not good enough huh, or is it because its also on PC? but I guess that would take a bunch of your games out as well now wouldn't it?
"FACT" is, Sony has more exclusives, more games, whether that be "indies" included, or not, and more AAA's announced, and more studio's with unannounced projects. That, is fact, if fact is really what you are after.

But why all the game naming? Don't take my word (or for that matter PR's word) go look it up yourself. Don't regurgitate what you were told by your favorite console maker, go check out a list of all games releasing. PS4 has more in every category. we are talking about not even close.

Not sure about the claims made in this article. MSFT has a history of revealing the year's lineup during and after each E3. Sony's claims are always fluffed due to them announcing games at E3 two to three years in advance(lots of cancellations and delays) Sony uses trickery to garner hype. Even the known games are bigger on Xb1.

There is no goal post moving at all. Hasn't the talk always been AAA exclusives?

Back in 2011 and 2012 when MS was lacking AAA's or new ips they were always strong in the Arcade downloads thanks mainly to Summer Arcade. I remember ppl saying "don't count XBL arcade because those don't matter, its AAA that mattered" Despite the fact that XBL Arcade had strong downloads and was very successful. And were worthy of counting them as part of a great line up.

But most of you probably have amnesia and forgotten I sure as hell didn't.

So in terms of goals posting I never changed it, its this site. I tried adding in arcade a while back but nope apparently it wasn't "allowed" according to this site because they weren't true exclusives retail arcade didn't count. Funny enough they started counting as soon as The Journey was announced ironically enough. So now are we resting the goal post now?

At around the same time frame as arcade having good indies, PlayStation was also getting amazing indies. PS3 had such good indies many people gave them game of the year awards... I don't know of any exclusive XBL arcade games that got such attention and respect as PS3's indies.

Not all PS3 fans disregarded Indies, in fact, I am really skeptical that ANY ever have with how many award winning, quality indies the PS3 has had.

Well as a PS fan I can honestly say I did disregard indies, not because xbox had a lot, but because I didn't know much about them and the ones I did play were cellphone quality games.I found myself agreeing with a lot of the playstation fans back when they disregarded them as shovel ware.But now I believe indies have been getting much better over the past few years.And I am just now getting into them.I'm not sure if thats whats making PS fan consider indies as I guess.. viable video games now.But there was a point in time when a lot of people here disregarded them. If "owning" 2014 means selling less than half of your competitions total consoles, then yeah... it is owning. There's really no telling any of those games with be good.
Plus, we have to put in the consideration that most of games will be downgraded sub 1080p below 30f because of the Bone's inferior specs, and those inferior specs can compromise gameplay most likely.

2014 is a dead heat. We've had Infamous and Titanfall cancel out and LoU remastered and Halo collection balance out. LBP3 and Sunset balance. Driveclub and Forza cancel out. the tiebreaker then goes to 3rd party or indies and PS4 has the advantage on both of those unless you REALLY need that month early COD content lol. A man doesn't forget Planetside 2 either though he's sure you don't count indies or think 720p is the same as 1080p or a more stable framerate isn't noticeable or something to try to even it out.

As for 2015 there's already the Order, Bloodborne, Uncharted, Deep Down, Uncharted, Ratchet and Grim remastered, Magicka 2, Let it Die, and many more unannounced ones (remember they just surprised us with a november LBP at E3 so they've shown they can announce and release less than a year away)

To all of you disagreeing about LoU being less value than MCC. Let's not forget that a lot of those games are REALLY old. Sony has done 3 game collections for $40 (Jak and Ratchet and Sly). They were ALL 1080p 60fps. Same thing with MCC except they're charging $60 so basically $20 for the Halo 4 in addition to the really old games just like Sony's collections on PS3. LoU is more recent. The game itself is still $30. The SP DLC alone is $15. So that's already $45 of content in a $50 package. You're paying $5 for 1080p, 60fps, better controller, and a more enjoyable online experience. Again look at the PS3 collections. They're ALL 1080p 60fps and have 2 or 3 games in them for $40.

I think both Sony and Xbox have solid exclusives this year, I give the sleight edge to MS mainly for Sunset Overdrive and Halo MCC. I think MS decided to focus on this years games more to help gain the ground they lost on Sony this year in sales and Sony choose to focus on 2015 since they are ahead and can afford to focus on the future since they are number 1 right now.

The Halo MCC wins it hands down for me this year, but I can understand that some people just don't care about Halo.

Of course the Xbox One also has Titanfall, I think it's pretty strong for the Xbox this year in terms of exclusives: even though Titanfall is tab disappointing for me and Halo MCC IS technically a remake.

Infamous Second Son doesn't count to me 'cose it poo, and The Last of Us remastered doesn't interest me either: if I'm gona play a remake, I'd rather play the 10 year old remake than the one that came out last year and still looks freakin' gorgeous anyway. BUT PS4 still has LBP3 and Drive Club.

Here are a couple of lists that show a list of games that are and will be available on both Xbox One and Playstation 4. To make it simple, look at the chart and see where it sees Exclusive. If the game reads "console", then that means it will be available on the console only and other platforms like PC. If the game reads "Yes", then it is a pure exclusive on the console only. If it reads "Sony" or "Microsoft", then the game is available on their platforms only. For the naysayers of it being a Wikipedia page, this isn't high school where your teacher can dismiss Wikipedia as a source. There are collective sources at the bottom of both pages to show that the games will be or are available for the consoles. Calculate them yourselves and see what's there.

Most of Microsoft's studios have shown their cards either at launch or holiday 2014 and already announced for 2015. Scalebound, Phantom Dust and Crackdown are clearly 2016 releases, that MS are disguising as games for 2015, to give the impression that they have more games coming than the competition. They clearly wanted to deliver a certain message a E3.

The only exclusives coming out in 2015 are Quantum Break, Fable Legends and Halo 5, and those are all in the second half of 2015.

Meanwhile most of Sony's studios have barely hinted at what they're working on, while every single one of them are working on games for PS4, they have the most to show, and most of them will be ready to unveil games both this year and early next year in time for a 2015 release, perhaps early 2016.

Early 2015, PS4 has 3 AAA exclusives alone: Bloodborne, The Order: 1886 and Ratchet & Clank Redux. There's also the obligatory MLB 15: The Show. Nothing has even been announced for mid-late 2015, in terms of AAA development other than Uncharted 4.

LittleBigPlanet 3 came out of nowhere, from a smaller dev in conjunction with XDEV, so not only can that keep happening from second-party devs, but Sony has a whole arsenal of unannounced AAA games that are likely to see 2015 releases, as well as what we already know.

Then Sony has some high-end promising looking indies that spank anything MS has on its plate in terms of indie development: RiME, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, No Man's Sky, SOMA, ABZU, Shadow of the Beast, and the list goes on.

These "BIG" indies (and yes, they are all hugely ambitious for indie devs), are things MS cannot counter with their own indies. Unless Sony has some kind of chronic delays in 2015, the claim is looking to be pretty accurate.

It's all opinion, no one will ever end this argument, but in my opinion...no matter how great PS has been in the past...NOW they just aren't bringing it with quality titles. I hope that changes. Right now the only games on PS4 that have me legit excited are No Man's Sky (which isn't technically an exclusive, but as for now...) and Uncharted 4. I will no doubt get Bloodbourne and Order as they both have promise, but if I didn't have a PS4, I wouldn't have missed them with all the other games going on at the same time. Sorry, it's just how I feel. X1 is by far my favorite console right now, then Wii U has MK8 and Mario World 3D which I have enjoyed more than any PS4 exclusive to date, plus with Hyrule Warriors/Zelda Wii U/Star Fox coming...there are more "must haves" on their list right now. My PS4 is really just an "infamous box" waiting to become an "Uncharted 4 box". I don't have PS+ anymore so all online games for me are on X1, and all multiplats for me are X1 cause I like the controller and UI (and network) better...not to mention I like collecting my achievements all in one spot...and so far minor res differences haven't made a big enough deal.

THIS is exactly why it's good to have all the consoles (which BTW my PS4 disc drive broke and I just got it back two days ago...if I'm strictly a fanboy, why haven't I been crying about that all this time?) When consoles go through droughts, you just play on the other ones...it rotates. Right now Sony's game catalog just isn't impressive to me at all...stop trying to force it down my throat.

At this rate PS4 will have 2023 on lock down until MS announces the next Xbox.

IMO MS will probably win for me this year however next year is kind of up in the air.

They both got an exclusive JP dev that are just both epic, one can capture an atmosphere while the other can make such creative and fun games. They both got the big dogs coming, Uncharted 4 and Halo 5, and the two new big IPs Quantum Break and The Order. It will surely be an interesting year that is why I will get a PS4 Q1 or Q2 next year.

I honestly think Wii U will win the exclusive game with SSB, Hyrule Warriors and Bayonetta 2 and next year they are to have Zelda, Star Fox (?), X, Yoshi Wooly World, Splatoon, Mario Maker, and Devils Third so they will probably have a great year in 2015

At the end of the day it all comes down to taste because as far as lineups are concerned they are pretty balanced with new IPs, indies and returning franchises. Every gamer has something to be excited about and if you ask me the best experience will always be being a multiplat gamer.

The bubble system really isn't worth anything. You shouldn't put too much faith on the amount of bubbles a user has. This site's community and moderators report and mark down comments unfairly all the time.

I have 2155 comments on this website. Most of them are (in my opinion) well written and insightful. However, I'm down to 4 bubbles because I got marked down for "bad language" once for saying f*ck something (and I was talking about some pretty bad business practice that went against consumers or something along these lines).

Let's be honest, drive club looks better than forza 5 hand horizon put together! You make no sense. I played forza 5 a total of 8 times. It's loaded with the cars that I like behind a micro transaction pay wall. I'll get sunset overdrive but I've never liked halo or gears games. Pretty much bored of killing bots on Titanfall so I haven't turned on my xbox in over a month. All my multiplats will look better on my ps4 so I'll be busy. I'm willing to wait for playstation exclusives because they tend to make very good ones that leave an impression. Tlou was the best game I've experienced in 20 years and I been gaming since atari.

Now you'd have to have some bias if you said there is a clear winner. Both have a great remaster coming, both have a highly anticipated driving sim, both have an RPG (even though I detest Legends, it doesn't seem like a real Fable imo)

If you like Halo MS' lineup is clearly great for you. If you like RPGs like me Sony's is clearly more favorable for me with ND and KUF2.

In next year, Bloodborne and The Order has got me stoked, and I'm sure I'm going to see something from TGS that will make me happy. The only games I'm really interested in from MS is Scalebound and Phantom Dust which we have seen very little from, hopefully more will be seen at Gamescom or TGS.

Are people really hyped for fable? They haven't made a great game since the first one. Sunset overdrive looks like a game that you would return for store credit at gamestop after beating it in 3 days. Forza horizon and the Halo remastered have the highest replay value of their lineup. I just don't see how you compare those games to Uncharted 4 and Bloodborne. History usually repeats itself and the naughty dog game usually takes game of the year. As someone who owns both consoles, i really don't see the big issue here or why it's even an argument!

I used to be a die hard MS fanboy, eating up anything MS put in front of me and playing down anything Sony had to offer. Now i buy multiplats on PS4 because in my opinion, multiplats play and look better on PS4 right now and Sony have a lot of exclusive deals for content on games which interest me. However both platforms have exclusives which look great and have me excited to play.

Point being, why's everything about winning? why not just be happy with what you have and what you will have? Articles like this just bring fanboys to the flame, i know... because i used to be one.

Nah, but the big N seem to have a lot coming next year. So far this year hasn't been too interesting, but Xbox seems to edge out the competition for the remainder, with Forza, Sunset Overdrive, Halo Collection and whathaveyou. Sony is arguably the weakest in the coming six months, but they could have something up their sleeve yet and next year seems to be another strong year for Playstation.

Interestingly, it's like every other year is a very strong one for Sony. Probably due to development-time and such.
