PSGamer writes: In the wake of E3 2014 there is a general murmuring of concern about Sony’s presentation, in particular, the lack of titles that they showed on stage that would be arriving in 2014. The vast majority of titles that took to the stage along side Andrew House and Adam Boyles would not be seeing the light of day this year. As amazing as 2015 is shaping up to be, the Sony faithful were beginning to worry what they would be getting to play for the rest of 2014. Admittedly, Sony didn’t do the best job of advertising the plethora of Playstation exclusives that were arriving during the rest of the year – so we thought we would do it for them with this list of 40 PS4 exclusives (platform, console or timed) you can play in 2014.

It's clear what kind of impression you have of indie games and why, but you're basically calling a list of games you've never played "garbage". Pathetic. and most of all, ignorant.

Tell you what.... look up the metascores of those games, and 90% of them will still be well rated. The ones that aren't released yet like The Witness, Galak-Z, Velocity 2X, LBP3, DriveClub, and Guilty Gear have all been receiving lots of great feedback from gamers. Try actually playing and looking into what these games actually offer, or you'll look like a fool.

Couple of interesting games, but nothing really special from that list. The best games still to come in 2014, most are multiplatform games:

Far Cry, Borderlands, Batman, Dragon Age, Evolve, Civilization (PC), Shadow of Mordor, Destiny (looks interesting but still not sure about this, since I'm not into MMO's), Assassin's Creed Unity, Sunset Overdrive (Xbox), Bayonetta 2 (WiiU), etc.

Plus last gen exclusives like Tales of Xillia 2, Tales of Zestiria, and Persona 5 will be among the best of the year(since you mentioned borderlands).

According to my raptr profile (i may have missed a few ps2 games while manually adding them) i've already played 28 games on ps4 since picking it up in march, while I had my ps2 I only played 87 games. Granted I was in school and not working then, but its scary to think i'm already 2/3rds from surpassing that number. On a side not, here's the number of games i've played on each platform :D (older consoles, manually added, definitely missed a few games while going through the list)

Ps1 is in the top spot because me and my brother used to rent every new game that came out in our local video store(these strange buildings that used to exist where for a small fee, you could borrow movies and games from them with the promise you would give them back the next day) during that era, same with genesis/mega drive.

Gamecube is low because I really only bought it for zelda and resi and twin snakes. I never owned an n64 either but i'd borrow my friends from time to time. As for the snes, I never owned one either but would console swap with neighbours (i was like 6 or 7 at that point)

RAPTR doesnt have a filter for ps4 or xb1 games yet, i havent played any xb1 exclusives (dont know anyone with an xb1) but ps4 is 28 last time i counted.

Also if you add xbla to 360, it makes it my most played platform thanks to it automatically tracking all games, and of course the length of the generation.

Ah yes, I was gonna say I totally agree with PS4s library surpassing ps2, what with all the lovely digital indie games and other great things coming to the platform, and also because i'm clearly on my way to surpassing my own ps2 collection in less than a year it seems.

I agree ps4 is a dissappointment so far. All I play is bf4 and cod ghosts. Should've just kept my ps3 and 360 for multi player. Kz SF is about a 6/10 infamous ss about a 7.5. Most of the games coming out are good on previous Gen and PC.

What a shit list by the way. Not even worth the article; most of the games look like nes games. Last of us, team fortress imitation, and zombie imitation game are the only good looking games.

After uncharted 4 I might have to trade my p4 for a x1.

Well, first off, it's not a bad site. It gets traffic and has followers - better than some of the questionable sites that get approved on N4G.

And to clarify, it's not because the games are already on the PC and will eventually come to PS4... it's because the title claimed "PS4 Exclusives".

B. If you are touting a list of downloadable/casual/indie games as a selling point, it is a bit of a turn off

To be fair, this didn't come from Sony. I wouldn't let something like this dictate an actual purchase decision. It just diluted the platform for me, conceptually.

Well H1Z1 is coming to PC first and it's still in pre alpha on PC.

It'll be on Steam Early Access in the next few weeks as an alpha build.

SOE haven't even thought about PS4 yet just that it will come to PS4 in time after PC version is completed.

Regardless of what people think of indie games, they have been scoring better than the exclusive games on consoles have. Granted a lot of these aren't exclusive, but still adds diversity to what is already a great latter 2014 lineup:

I have to agree, I know I'll get accused of being a fanboy or trolling, but seriously...looking at that list there isn't a single one I'm interested in except maybe Planetside 2...and that's actually on PC anyway. Most of those games I had to look up cause I had never heard of...I don't see much promise in most of them, but it probably wouldn't matter cause I am already gonna be so busy with so many other games, I doubt any of these would be more pressing than the games I already have pre-ordered. Interesting issue though...what happens to Deep Down if MS buys Capcom? Or even if they just buy the IP? Can that even happen? I'm not sure how that contract between Capcom and Sony works. It'd be weird if MS could buy the IP but was still obligated to at least bring it to Sony. Just food for thought I guess.

This is more like a list of games that are not coming to X1 currently than an exclusives list.

To me, the most important thing is "new" content... Meaning a completely new iteration of an existing IP or and a completely new IP only found on PS4... Not a remake with some new levels or HD... Or a port from another platform...

In that category the PS4 is really lacking in 2014... Next generation, I am waiting until consoles are $199... I'm not going to spend $400-$500 on a console again just to play all the games I have already played. I can't believe how many gamers think that this generation has been full of content... This generation should be renamed from 8th generation to 7.5... Or the recycled generation.

What's got me excited is the huge amount of F2P stuff on the way, making the PS4 a more amazing value for the money with each one that comes out. This year we'll have Deep Down and Onigiri, and we already have War Thunder and Warframe, which has gotten SO MUCH BETTER after the latest updates, it runs so much smoother and fast and furious now! Playing a Survival mission in Warframe is one of the most ridiculously intense experiences in gaming right now. They made player characters a bit stronger, but Survival missions now have TONS of enemy units on you at the same time. We're talking 4 players against 50+ enemies at once, and they keep spawning as you take them down. It's friggin glorious.

People who keep complaining about the lack or AAA titles, hey, ALL the consoles are on the same boat, and people who have that knee-jerk reaction of dismissing indie gaming just because it's not high-budget stuff done by major publishers is seriously missing out on some amazing stuff. And Sony keeps dishing out free indies every month on PS+, so there's really no excuse to not try them out, they're FRIGGIN' FREE.

There are a handful of games on that list , H1Z1 , planet side , Last of Us and Loadout that look really good , the rest look like stocking filler Indie games. Before you start with the disagrees , this is just my opinion. Im not into arcade games on a console.
And I'm not sure Second son DLC should be counted as a Game , kind of insults the memory of how awesome Infamous SS was. But i guess its how it gets marketed like RDR undead nightmare , or Halo ODST. Standalone game implies that it is on Par with its counterparts. So will have to see how much gameplay it offers.
Lastly I've got a feeling Deep down will get pushed to 2015.

The majority of that list of 40 is indie games...which is the problem with PS4 currently. I believe it is 27 of the 40, that are indie games...that's not good by any measure, considering Playstation's history. Another thing to note, would be the rehashes of 7th gen games...such as The Last of Us, and GTA V. As with any new Playstation console, new IP's should be it's top priority.

Firstly the layoffs were imposed for restructuring purposes; london, Guerilla cambridge, santa monica and evolution studios were affected and one or two games were cancelled but it did not, and will not affect current games in development. These devs are currently hiring again for new projects, so i dont possibly see how that's worrisome at all.

The Order was given the chance to come out with gameplay at the discretion of the developer and Sony. They put out footage running on PS4 that was a technical mess, and then downgraded graphical points to try and get it running.

The Last Of Us 1.5 after a year? It is done by many other publishers, yes. It is rarely done by first party stuff because of how it looks, part of that being a disservice to the PS3 owners of the game.

The layoffs have definitely affected different Sony studios and different IP's. To what degree is up for debate.

Capcom is in dire financial troubles, as evidenced in them trying to sell the majority of the company's stock to a single corporation. This is affecting Deep Down, which since its reveal has looked only like a tech demo.

If you disagree with these opinions, fine. I never stated anything as facts, they are just things I have noticed and processed different than you.

You know what's funny though - even without the host of AAA games hitting in 2014 (granted many are promised for next year) but the PS4 is still outselling everything month after month... My son last night said he was now saving to get his own PS4 (we share one at the moment) because the White Destiny PS4 was what his friends at school were talking about as a 'must have'... This is in the UK which seems to have (re)embraced the PlayStation after the 360 years!?

"Exclusives" is a stretch beyond the first handful of retail games. Some great boutique/F2P stuff there, but I know that because I played them last year on PC. Some have even been in humble bundles.

Pretty much all the indies are on PC as well, which according to Sony fans means they aren't exclusives.... I kid, I kid. Anyways, wouldn't consider Infamous: Second Son DLC an exclusive game even if you can play it without the main game. Some good-looking games though.

If you guys are happy with the lists your providing your either easily pleased or putting on a brave face,these lists are laughable,you can name as many 2 year old F2P PC ports and unheard of Indies as you want X1 has more where it counts AAA exclusive games that Xbox One owners can play this year,I have both consoles but I have put my PS4 on e-bay twice only to change my mind at the last minute,I never had a PS3 so I want TLOUR. I would get rid of it otherwise. But you guys keep kidding yourselves that PS4 has the most and best games and Sony will keep giving broken promises and keep stringing you all along with trash games. If you accept or even worse defend it then get used to a couple of exclusives a year if that,you guys need to wake up and stop defending this shit your fooling no one and doing a disservice to people like me who bought into the PS4 hype train,the console is quality but games are lacking BADLY
