Girl Gamer Robbed At Gunpoint While Streaming Dota 2

A video came across my desk this morning of a cute young women streaming on Twitch.tv. I see tons of these a day. Yet, as I was getting ready to click over to the next one I see something that leaves me speechless. Nikki Elise was streaming Dota 2, when someone decided to break into her house and rob her at gun point. All while she was live on Twitch.tv. Here is the video below.

That bothered me about as much as the fact that she got robbed in the first place. Just say "Gamer Robbed" and get to the point; it doesn't matter if the person being affronted is male or female, as they're still being subjected to something that's fundamentally wrong.

This author is as dumb as they come. No respect for the individual in the video that was robbed, ignoring any context relevant to the story. There's a reason most journalists write as if they are already be familiar with the details of the stories they're covering, even if they don't actually have any knowledge of the people or games they're writing about-- it saves them the embarrassment on display in this article. People don't fault journalists for acting as if they're omniscient-- but they sure as hell raise their eyebrows at those who can't be bothered to do thirty seconds of research on things.
