Sony pressers are generally structured, informative and packed chock-a-block with games regardless of whether they’re already out or not. Expect to have to sit through a heavy use of montages, a section on new (but generally already announced) games for the PS3 and Vita, a boring reminder that Sony has it’s own video on demand service that you’re not using before you see anything at all about the PS4. Also expect all of the Europeans to be extraordinarily cranky, drunk or simply have already buggered off to bed as Sony always schedules these things at stupid-o’clock in the morning European time.
It would seem that the biggest game Sony is planning on showing us (that we already know of) is Uncharted 4, the first next-gen entry in Naughty Dog’s acclaimed action adventure series. It seems likely that we’ll be hearing more about heavily delayed street racing game Driveclub, steampunk third person shooter thingy The Order 1882, and that silly virtual reality headset thing Project Morpheus that they’re working on to compete against Oculus. At the risk of looking silly I’m also going to predict a return for missing-in-action team ico project The Last Guardian, now retooled as a PS4 title (and then as a PS5 title in a few years time as the project continues to spiral through development hell).
Digital Foundry : Whether it's via FPS Boost or bespoke software upgrades, backwards compatibility on the current-gen consoles delivered an unexpected delight - the ability to liberate older console games from their 30fps limits, running them at 60 frames per second or even higher. FPS Boost did the business for Xbox Series consoles on an impressive range of titles, but there was always the sense that PS5 could do more. It's a hunch that checks out as a range of frame-rate unlocks are available for PS5, covering many must-have games - the major caveat being that only exploitable consoles running on older firmwares are invited to the party.
you love to see new life being breathed into older titles but damn the process to get there. It should be automatic that these work for everyone... not just those who exploit their systems. Really wish Sony and MS would keep this program going officially.
Damn this sucks. I want this shit so bad, but I’m not jailbreaking my console. And frankly I shouldn’t have to. I’m not a tech person, but is it really that hard for developers to unlock the framerate? Or would that have to be a large patch?
Yep, this sucks having to require a jailbreak for something that should be standard in our industry by now. I learned my lesson when PS4 was jailbroken and I didn't keep a console on low firmware for years, but now I'm holding onto two low firmware PS5s specifically because there are features I'll be able to do that you can't do on official firmware, so this will pay off for me soon enough.
GB: "With this feature, we run down 15 of the most underrated games on the PS4 that never received the love and appreciation they truly deserve."
I've played 15, and I wouldn't consider any of those underrated TBH. Some of them are pretty high rated.
I. Not seeing anything on that list underrated. I never played concrete genie, the ASTRO vr,and one other but I forgot the name already. Nothing on there was underrated at all imo.
There’s only 4 of those games I never played, and no most of those aren’t underrated.
Digital Foundry : Released in February 2015, The Order: 1886 was a stunning PlayStation 4 game at the cutting-edge of rendering technology, with visuals that still hold up today. The game's release pre-dated in-depth Digital Foundry coverage, something we're looking to address with this new video! Ready at Dawn's game never received a sequel and never received a PS4 Pro upgrade, but thanks to developments with exploited, older firmware PS5 consoles, we can now show you the game running locked at 60 frames per second.
And let's not forget,
Ready At Dawn showcased The Order 1886 running on PC at 60fps at SIGGRAPH 2015

I still stand by my theory that this game just released at the wrong time. Almost every outlet spent a lot of time in their reviews ragging on the game for not being an online experience, everyone was in the Destiny hype train and at the time they wanted EVERY game to follow suit, bashing any game that didn't. If this were released after everyone realized how much that wasn't future, people would've appreciated it more. I loved it, and I'm always disappointed that we'll never get a sequel
People cried this game was too short. No people are crying because games are too long.
all i got out of this was bitching and mocking of Sony.
I expect about a 20 minute breakdown of PS4 sales and Vita sales and then another 10 to 15 minutes of PS Now and an announcement of games being made for Morpheus with maybe some demos being shown and full reveal announced for CES 2015. Then I expect the next 60 or so minutes to be a mixture of indies/ third party games/ and exclusives. Equal parts of each.
What to expect ?
5 min montage of currently announced games.
5 min speech about how this year is the best year to be playing on the Ps4.
10 min gameplay vid of Destiny.
5-10 min gamepaly of The Order:1886.
10 min extended gameplay demo of Far Cry 4/AC:Unity.
5 min demo of Driveclub.
5-10 min speech about PSN and future planned services, such as PSNow and other streaming services.
5 min speech about how indies are the greatest thing since sliced bread with a big image shown on the huge a** telly with a bunch of logos from unknown indie developers.
End it all with a Uncharted 4 gameplay.
