You can criticize Sony all you want for copying The wii Mote, Super smash bros, or anything, but they also try new things. They have contributed to this industry as much as Nintendo and Microsoft:

- Cloud Gaming in consoles
- Remote play inside or outside home
- Emulation of PS1,PS2 and PS3 via Gaikay
- Vitual Reality headset
- New ways to play implemented in DS4
- PS+

These are all the new thinks Sony has done so far I can think of. If you say Sony doesn't innovate, then you are an ignorant hater.

it would interesting is every PS4 turns into a VitaTV

Godmars2903652d ago

The Vita TV is likely dead at this point. Its not selling well in Japan and Kindle Fire has stolen whatever potential momentum it might have had in the West.

Honestly, playing Ragnarok Odyssey Ace and Dragon's Crown on a 55 inch tv is a night and day difference from even OLED picture-quality.

If I had the option, I would play every Vita game that way and keep the actual device only for trips.

@Godmars290

Amazon Fire has yet to prove itself. The real competition is still Roku and Apple.

With the right marketing the Vita Tv could still do OK. At a minimum they need to change the name, emphasize the relationship to the playstation brand to benefit from the current buzz around the PS4.

Kindle Fire, by being announced and advertised, has jumped ahead of Roku and matched Apple. Amazon itself is too well established in the consumer mindset for Fire not to be.

Vita TV could still have impact, but with it being technically crippled by not being able to play certain Vita games, the only way its going to come back is if Sony get Gaiki up and running then advertise Vita TV as a satellite device for it and a PS4. With its media streaming options a footnote.

The only hitch with this is that 1) Sony's attention span, 2) Sony's seemingly inability to advertise and 3) Vita TV is already out and bombed in Japan which will really effect #2.

Personally I'd love to get a Vita TV, but with it being what it is, not having any online support in the States, its not all that good of an idea for me to get one. Not unless I can use my JP account.

kneon3652d ago

You keep confusing by calling it Kindle fire, that's their tablet, Amazon Fire Tv is their media streaming box.

I've never seen an Amazon Fire ad, are they really pushing it that much?

I think there is more behind Vita TV than just Gaikai and the PS4. Sony have been working on an over the top cable network and this would be a cheap way to deploy it to existing devices without everyone having to buy a PS4 or Sony smart TV. So we may have to wait for that before we see Vita TV released here.

While Sony have a huge amount of the own content from all their film and TV studios, if they don't get distribution rights from most of the other big content providers this will be DOA which would mean we may never see Vita TV in the west.

Godmars2903652d ago

I see a commercial with Gary Busey all the time, and I barely even watch live TV at this point.

For Amazon fire whatever it is.

That shows my overall interest in it, but that doesn't mean that the thing isn't going to sell. Especially when Amazon, the largest online retailer in the world, is actively advertising it and has it on their front page as well.

kneon3652d ago

I guess I'm watching the "wrong" programs as I've never seen the commercial.

Also the camera used for gaming on consoles, Sony contributed that as well, which I think was huge.

MegaRay3652d ago

Actually, PS allstars is NOT a SSB ripoff except for crossover part.

OT: sony better work to get ps1/2 emulator before vita/3

donwel3652d ago

I imagine it's more like PS1, 2 and 3 emulation instead of Vita

TMNT Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants review - Games Asylum

Games Asylum: "Well, this is neat. As the name suggests, Wrath of the Mutants is the rarest of things – a genuine arcade conversion. With most modern arcade games being ticket redemption machines, this is something seldom seen. In fact, the last arcade conversion we can recall was Raw Thrill’s own Cruis’n’ Blast on Switch back in 2021. This is also based on an older iteration of TMNT, harking back to the series from 2012-2017. It’s essentially breaking franchise continuity (we’ve had two different iterations of the Turtles since) and could even be considered nostalgic for a select few – those who grew up with 2012’s Turtles are probably in their late teens."
