True I can't imagine better publishers than Sony and Nintendo!

Geekman3684d ago

True, but problems have been reported that Nintendo doesn't speak English, mean they have to constantly translate.

TomShoe3684d ago

It's good to see Sony does whatever they can to keep owned studios like Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch happy.

UltimateMaster3684d ago

@TomShoe
It ain't always easy to run all these studios.

mkis0073684d ago (Edited 3684d ago )

IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW THE POWERS DO NOT SCROLL DOWN THE COMMENTS... haruko spoiled them. Comment#9

M-M3684d ago

@mkis007

Thanks for the heads up. People should scroll past comment 9, and slowly scroll up and report it for spam. That's what I did, I don't want anyone else's game experience to be spoiled like mine was a while back.

Lol @ disagrees . It's still true , even if they can dump projects , have issues and close studios like everyone else , you'd be hard pressed to find another big console publisher that gives you such creative freedom .

Not ubisoft with even AC's former's creator and main Prince of Persia trilogy driving force , suying and complaining about them .

Certainly not Capcom overworked its ip and key personel to exhaustion and boiling point .

No way would it be EA , closing even criterion studios , reshaping Bioware , and having murdered plenty creative and actually successful studios like Westwood ...

Activision ? When do they even create something ? Once every 3 years ? And remember the scandal behind Infinity war's departure ?

Konami got nobody but kojima left and sits on almost all of their Ips ..

Sega ... hum lol . The only good news recently from them are Yakuza and Miku related , and on the Atlus side , for now .

Square enix ? With their interference and bigger than life expectations ?

Pretty much leaves Take Two , (the too rare) Valve and Bethesda ... and Microsoft of course

serratos273684d ago

Honestly I envy whatever and however much knowledge you have of the gaming industry. I'm a novice.

Baka-akaB3684d ago

Dont feel like i got that much ... i'm some old nerd fart playing for eons . Comes easy lol

Bathyj3684d ago

Damn Baka, you paint a bleak picture. It surprising were still gaming after 3 decades. Glad I have a Playstation.

Baka-akaB3684d ago (Edited 3684d ago )

Yeah but i kinda have to see it as the circle of gaming life . For every dead Acclaim , Ocean , Infogrames , Sierra , SNK , Hudson Soft , Titus , THQ , you see or aught to see at some point some smaller studios appears , grow and take their place . Some of course will grow complacent or fail in time too , but we shall see .

Besides now we have a strong indie scene , even on console , something we havent seen since the amiga era

Boody-Bandit3684d ago

It's good to know I'm not the only old fart on here. I've started gaming with pong and never looked back.

OT
That's why I like Sony the most when it comes to manufacturers. They don't put pressure on the devs to rush games out the door and let them do what they want to do. Nothing is worse than a really good game that could've been great or amazing but fell short because of trying to hit a date on the calendar instead of giving us the best most polished product they could've if given more time.

Skate-AK3684d ago

Don't forget EA also killed Pandemic Studios.

@Xi
How would you know? They're talking from a business perspective, I'm pretty sure you've never published anything through Sony, or even been present at any meetings.

Im not being mean, just found your comment odd. No matter how closely you monitor something from an outsiders perspective, you're not going to know the ins and outs of working with one publisher or another.

Army_of_Darkness3684d ago

@Angeljuice

If you've ever played on a playstation Console since the ps1 days, You can just tell by the various type of games/ new IP's they've release that they clearly do give a lot of creative freedom in comparison to the other publishers. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

Angeljuice3684d ago (Edited 3684d ago )

@Army of Darkness

Im fully aware of what your saying, but it is stupid. If you're not in the industry you don't know the ins and outs of what you're talking about. What if you don't get on with the Sony reps on a personal level? It's not much fun having to deal with people who rub you up the wrong way etc.

Just saying there's more to a business relationship than the end result. The fact is that you don't know what it's like working with Sony as a publisher as you've never done it.

P.S. I've had every single PlayStation at launch, I know how good/creative the games can be.

Army_of_Darkness3684d ago

Who cares about the ins and outs. we're gamers and all we should be concerned about is the end result right? cause that's what we're paying for.

jc485733684d ago

wait, isn't Sucker Punch already part of the Sony family?

Mikefizzled3684d ago

Yes thats why its a kind of null comment. Employee says boss is amazing. But still somehow becomes an article.

king_george3684d ago

It doesnt become null just because Sucker Punch is owned by Sony... its not even like SP are the first to say this either... they're actually like what? The gazillionth?

HeWhoWalks3684d ago (Edited 3684d ago )

It isn't "null", because not all devs give such credit to their publishers. Beyond that, MANY non-Sony devs share the same sentiments.

OT: Which is why I can expect a stellar product this weekend!

Bathyj3684d ago

Oh really? Is that what you guys do? Go out of your way to shower praise on your boss?

From Wiki
"Sucker Punch Productions is an American production company founded in 1997 and based in Bellevue, Washington. It was an independent company until August 2011, but had worked exclusively with Sony Computer Entertainment since 2000. Sony acquired Sucker Punch on August 2, 2011"

So they became part of Sony because they loved working with them, not they love working with them because they became part of Sony.

Lose the cynicism guys, if it was one dev saying this, maybe you would have a point. Ask Naughty Dog and Media Molecule they will say exactly the same thing.

Hell, ask Quantic Dream and Ready at Dawn, they will say it too no doubt.

A paycheck doesnt obtain loyalty, talent gravitates towards other talent, and no one gives devs the sort of creative freedom Sony does.

truegame3684d ago

Remember they were 2nd party and then Sony got them not to long ago.

The main comment he said "Sony gives them allot of Freedom aka rope! to make a game"

exnoob3684d ago

Could any one pm, the amount of powers (not what the powers are) that are confirmed in the game please?

Zaiaku3684d ago

I've been asking the same question. If you find out let me know please.

Dark113684d ago (Edited 3684d ago )

I wonder if the ex-sony santa monica staff will share the same opinion.

HeWhoWalks3684d ago (Edited 3684d ago )

Help us understand what relevance that would have to Sucker Punch's views of them.

@ Blaze: See the question above.

Hicken3684d ago

Cuz no other publisher has ever let any employees go...

ltachiUchiha3684d ago (Edited 3684d ago )

Well RARE is still a 1st party studio to MS yet they weren't too happy being forced to do kinect projects instead of giving them freedom to spread their wings. Because of that most of the talent that was behind RARE have moved on. I think that should tell u the difference between Sony & MS. Those who got layed off or left Naughty Dog or Sony Santa Monica was sad for gamers like myself who love those studios but thats a part of business. Just like any NFL team nowadays. Seattle Seahawks may have won the superbowl but that doesn't guarantee youll have the same squad next year. Its always a rebuilding process. It sucks but it is business.

100%, locked 60fps and still look great all these years later, same with the expansion, definitely worth a look if people haven't played it yet, not the best games ever made but a good experience, hopefully a new infamous gets released

KwietStorm_BLM96d ago

Never was my favorite infamous, but it was definitely a graphics showcase early on PS4. Still plays well with the unlocked frame rate.

SDuck96d ago

Still remember getting hyped about this game nearing release. Funny because I never even got a PS4. Jumped from PS3 to PC so I never played it ahahaha

OmegaSoldati96d ago

Its a good game. But thats it. Congratulations you made the best choice. I dream to have a great PC one day.

Profchaos96d ago (Edited 96d ago )

Graphically It's a absolutely stunning game that still holds up today.

Didn't have all that much depth to it forcing you to play though twice for a platinum trophy a good and bad run it was a little disappointing how similar those were Delsin would be like I'm not doing that for you in a cutscene but the cutscene would play out and force you to do it anyway just as you would of in a good run

I did like the story however it got a lot of complaints back in the day people hated playing as Delsin instead of cole despite Coles story being wrapped up.

Overall though the map wasn't overly saturated with useless points of interest there was some collectibles and things to find but nothing compared to a Ubisoft game.

I think it was a good game if a little hollow I've played it through around 4 times now since it's so short.

Also it's DLC was great a full story expansion

I've played 15, and I wouldn't consider any of those underrated TBH. Some of them are pretty high rated.

banger88128d ago

That's amazing, Gamingbolt actually put all 15 games on the same page.

shinoff2183127d ago

I. Not seeing anything on that list underrated. I never played concrete genie, the ASTRO vr,and one other but I forgot the name already. Nothing on there was underrated at all imo.

persona4chie126d ago

There’s only 4 of those games I never played, and no most of those aren’t underrated.
