Dream Game - Guerilla games do Starship Troopers

We try and merge a major developer and a major franchise for epic results, this time we do Guerilla games.

I would love to see a really good starship troopers game, using the new machines they could put an epic amount of those bugs onscreen at a time.

A decent Starship Troopers game would be awesome. I remember there being a crappy one released on PC years ago. If another one is made this shall be the official theme song.

if a decent band made a cover song of that it would be seriously cool going around shooting things and having that playing in the background

I really like the idea of GG making a Starship Troopers game. My personal Dream Games would be:

1. Sin City by Digital Extremes - They showed with The Darkness 2 that they can make an awesome game based on a comic book.

2. Sherlock Holmes by Rocksteady studios - Somehow I think they would make a great Sherlock Holmes game.

3. Dark Tower (Stephen King) game by ?CD Projekt? - This will probably be impossible to make in a single game just because of the length and complexity of the plot. If some dev team ever ever decides to do this it'll have to be a very ambitious project. I think everyone that read the books will agree on that.

Based on the book or the movie?

The movie versions are just glorified versions of modern infantry.

The book versions are something else. More akin to sci fi special forces. Not quite up there with Warhammer 40k Space Marines, but well beyond the Starcraft version of them.

To quote the book "You don't deploy tanks against them unless you want to lose a lot of tanks"

They were more like a one man attack helicopter than a special forces trooper.

Rockets with nukes, plasma flamer, jumping a mile per bounce... A 40K Space marine would be toast. The MI armor combines heavy weapons, assault(flame thrower and jump mobility), and dreadnought-like armor into one package with machine assisted speed. They can even designate fire support or artillery targets.

There's no time for "drive the tank over there so I can hit them with my sword" or "roll to the left and bring up your chain sword with transhuman reflexes " in Starship Troopers.

I doubt a bolter shell could even reliably penetrate the MI armor. And they won't stand around waiting for a laser cannon to be aimed at them. Even Terminators ought to know better. Best call in the titan legions and Imperial guard armor and air cover to handle an MI or have the fleet knock them down from orbit with a massive area barrage. barrage.
