Exploring Skyrim in The Elder Scrolls Online

Leif Johnson: Sometimes the greatest rewards of discovery spring not from encountering new realms, but in knowing exactly where we are. Take my visit to Ivarstead in Elder Scrolls Online's vision of Skyrim. Centuries hence, I knew, a chap known as the Dovahkiin would cross the bridge on my left to take Krinnek's bundle of grub to the Graybeards on High Hrothgar. The bridge was wood now, not weathered stone; the nearby buildings shaped in that gangly, over-tall style common to ZeniMax's take on Tamriel. But no disciples of Paarthurnax awaited me up the snowy path, instead, avalanches and barriers barred me from the spot in ESO I wanted to see the most.

This is disappointing as the 1st place I would want to explore(if I choose the Ebonheart Pack) are places I've seen in the other Elder Scrolls games. I would have thought familiar places would have been high priority.

Too bad a lot of companies want to "move on" and focus on "the future of the series" like people who want to see familiar things are dragging them down. Rockstar with no C.J. in gtav is a big one even though the different universe thing softens the blow. No David Hayter in mgsv is a better one. No coqroq in burger king commercials is the biggest.

I don't mind companies moving on and focusing on the future I actually prefer that. I hate when they change voice actors though

What would have bothered me in GTAV is if Rockstar said we could see CJ and then him not being in the game.

They have advertised that we could see places we have been before in Tamriel, and now with friends, so one would think it would be in the best interest to get all the familiar places done 1st.
