PS4 Camera Sold Out, Shows Why an Xbox One Is a Better Deal

The PS4 Camera is sold out every where including Best Buy, Target and Amazon. About the only place users can still pick up one of the devices is GameStop, which has hiked up the price of the PS4 camera by an additional $10 to, presumably, make a bit extra on every sale.

Mandatory purchase isn't a better deal, having the option to buy the accessory is. I haven't brought the ps eye, nor do I intend to yet because there isn't anything it is used for that truly makes me push to get one, but no doubt in the future I will end up with one, but I get a choice in that matter.

Go ask the people who bought an XB1.

How many of them bought an XB1 FOR Kinect ?

Probably like 12 people.

The potential games on each console is the appeal.

That and only that really.

@brich

Those Xbox One games are all like indie games which might even run at 1080p on ps3/x360 . The next bf/cod/destiny will also be 720p/900p on Xbox One . Unless developers want to dumb down on games for parity's sake, xbox one won't have major games running at 1080p.

You can expect another 15/20 games on xbox one this year running at 720p or near 720p/900p. We are talking inferior hardware with a GPU having just 16 rops and sluggish DDR3 ram . As you seen with Titanfall preorders, sales of tr,thief, cod,bf people prefer 1080p games or games more powerful platform

@saigon
that GG method is very taxing on the hardware . It was more like a rushed out method and wont be possible on Xbox One

It shows that an optional camera is more desirable than a mandatory camera.

Facepalm Acsii....

For some reason ascii dont work here

thejigisup3696d ago

No, no it does not show why xbox one is a better deal. Terrible article article here and there are so many factors into what makes a system a deal in the first place and more factors to consider when asking yourself which is the better deal. Every ps4 comes with a month of music unlimited, $10 psn credit, and one month of ps+. which if you have a ps3 our view as will that's a massive amount of games(for a month) for free and many games that are discounted, they've got some great ps+ sales right now. If you buy a ps4 you can use your Netflix account without paying monthly for a "live" account.so really what is the better deal? That's up to reach individual consumer. This article was written with intent to slight the ps brand. That is all.

mrpsychoticstalker3695d ago

No one complains about the kinect, thats a fact. Only ps4 fans do and they dont even have it.

The whole streaming / share feature being core to the console was a pretty good idea because it allowed Sony to sell the eye toy separately with pretty much 0 games at launch.. Twitch streaming gave people a reason to buy the eye toy beyond just gaming...

genius move when paired with 399 price tag.

What, I thought this was dead after Shawn Layden left Sony. I would definitely pick this up if it's true. I have such great memories of playing the MediEvil games on PS1 and I played the PS4 remake. Such a great and underrated series.

Cacabunga8h ago(Edited 8h ago)

A rumored game at a rumored show.. we’ve seen it all

TiredGamer8h ago

Agreed. The first remake was stylistically beautiful and a very noticeable improvement over the original in every regard. And it was reasonably priced and sustainably developed (i.e. not some mega big budget game that was do or die for the developer).

Zeke6810h ago

Thanks for the spoilers... :(

RonnySins10h ago

Another day, another remake. Ugh!

SonyStyled9h ago

If you played the original print I can see your annoyance. I didn’t and probably a lot others the past 20 years.

Was it any good? Would you suggest playing the original print of 2, or suggest the remake? Just wondering because I didn’t play the originals as I had an n64 at the time

TiredGamer8h ago(Edited 8h ago)

I played the first remake and absolutely loved it. The quality of life and control improvements were very noticeable. I tried playing the PS1 original and gave up halfway through at the janky controls.

Expect the same for part 2. The PS1 version is janky as heck, but I would gobble up an improved remake day one.

The beauty of this kind of stuff is that I find myself enjoying more retro gaming today, so a relatively low budget classic remake (call it a single-A release) is exactly what is missing from first party releases in the modern age. I don’t want every game to be an unsustainable AAAA endeavor that is just overwhelming in every regard. Truly miss when game releases could be modest-sized surprises and still be commercially successful/viable.

Bring on more quality classic remakes!

DarXyde1h ago

I can see your frustration and mostly agree, but modern remakes of games lost eras ago are fine if you ask me.

I don't know how old you are, but I was a kid when the first Medievil came out. It's really for a new generation of gamers more than anything and the industry is at a point now where there is an insane number of current gamers who missed out on those classics.

If we're talking about remakes of The Last of Us or remasters of GTAV, I'm in agreement. Otherwise, the choice to remake games like Final Fantasy VII, Medievil, Parappa, etc. are fair to me. Even PS2 era games being remade would be welcome to me. Often, the tech updates make it worth it.

Knightofelemia10h ago

Such a good series I also wish Sony would dust off Wild Arms and Legend of Dargoon even the Legend series needs to see the light again.

Omegasyde9h ago

My bets on new Socom and/or Wolverine (since Deadpool 3 is dropping in the summer).

I think one after this state of play will be PS5 pro preorder

InUrFoxHole4h ago

SOCOM! SOCOM! SOCOM!
But please not like Socom 4
