David Cage has been the reason more gamers purchased more titles than you will in a lifetime. His approach has subtly altered the game industry and he is one of the few people that is assisting in altering the manner in which the general public views our hobby. When you have come close to that perhaps you can have a medal. Until then be happy amusing yourself and framing your trolling award certificate.

Quantic Dream and David Cage have received awards for Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain...both in the gaming industry and from interactive arts groups.

I love their games.

I said no other award show with "Any knowledge of games". Granted it is hyperbolic, but it can't be proved false.

David Cages games are pretty awful, and I could accept that, if he didn't actually think he is the savior of the industry. The man is the most annoying public developer in the industry.

France has an exceptionally creative & artistic society. The arts (of all types) are really appreciated within their culture. I wish more societies promoted these types of achievements more. This is well deserved on Cage's part. He has cut his own niche within the gaming industry.

First the GDCA gives awards to destructive people, then this happens. The industry is definitely getting worse.

Making games more photorealistic-looking and stripping away interactive elements is not helping the game industry at all. You cannot further the game industry by making games like movies and that's exactly what Cage has been doing.

It's because he's not using the game medium's distinctions from film as a strength. You cannot make video games into art if you constantly run by the laws of film. That's like trying to make a movie into art by removing any motion in it and running by the rules of still portrait design.

If you can use these technological advancements to make game DESIGN better instead of just making the GRAPHICS better, then I'd give Cage some respect. But right now, I cannot give this man any credit toward furthering games as a valuable medium of artistic expression. He's simply not doing anything to improve this industry, the GAMES industry.

Just believe the story-telling has a lot of flaws and contradicting plot elements.

But overall the the graphics is absolutely first rate, control lay-out is easy, the audio excellent and game play experience quite good.
