First Thief score is here and it looks promising.

All the previews looked promising, can't wait for the 25th. Thief, Tales of Symphonia and LOS2 all on the same day, geez I'm gonna be broke. And March is not gonna give my wallet a break either. Stick of Truth, Dark Souls 2, FFX/X-2 HD, Yaiba, and iNfamous: SS. I need a second job, lol.

TheSimpleMindedOne3716d ago

Gamers gotta be packed for one day lol other wise its decision time.

Automatic793716d ago

Looking into picking up Thief and Plants vs Zombies both look like great games that can hold me over till Titanfall.

Kos-Mos3715d ago

You have a bad taste in video games.

Automatic793715d ago

@kos

Sorry I don't meet your standards. Lol

Kos-Mos3715d ago

You need salvation. Care for some salvation?
Stay away from all three games you mentioned for starters then come back to me and I`ll help you further.
Bless ye

Automatic793715d ago

You are the cure for Salvation. Lmao

Hmm...the review score seems okay. But no word really on the story. When I hear about that, then I'll base my opinion on whether or not I should give it a try. Too many good games coming out, and still a bit "iffy" on this one.

Roccetarius3716d ago

It's not really surprising, if Thief's AI is as blind as a mole. The game is not made with the old games in mind (Thief 1 and 2), but for a new audience.

Agent20093716d ago

You seriously think they purposefuly made the AI worse because of a "new audience"?

DFogz3716d ago

Well they did make a few things easier and more tailored for a 'new audience'

I'm just wondering what difficulty this guy played on. If it was easy, or maybe even normal it could explain the AI not noticing things as often as they should.

Roccetarius3716d ago (Edited 3716d ago )

Yes, i do think they would go that low. What happened with Dishonored after release, is that someone made a mod to increase the awareness of the AI. There was also a few other tweaks, but it's all to improve the feeling of a stealth game.

From what i've seen in videos, there seems to be no difference between carpets or not for example.

TheSimpleMindedOne3716d ago

Really no game difficulty levels.

Pintheshadows3716d ago

In fairness to Thief it features a lot of customisation in its difficulty. Something other games could learn a lot from. The new Hitman for example.

It may sound weird but I actually see that as a pretty next gen feature. I think we should get rid of the traditional Easy, Normal, Hard etc and move more toward this.

A game tailor made for each gamer in a way.

Thief - Taken From Us Too Soon

The Thief game series has had many ups-and-downs, and 2014's reboot showed a great deal of promise nearly a decade ago.

Notellin265d ago

This would be such a great franchise to reboot. A darker game than Dishonored, but focused around stealth and large scale heists from an oppressive monarchy.

That's probably my dream game. I love immersive sims and stealth!

Noskypeno265d ago

People say they hate forced stealth sections in games. But a game focused on stealth with good mechanics and level design feels refreshing from the guns blazing games which I also enjoy. I really enjoyed playing Splinter cell, a game that not many try to mimic today. Not too many games let you shoot lights out, or throw cans or bottles to distract guards. Sure there are games with stealth options like the new Wolfenstein but it doesn't feel necessary to play it that way. Hitman might be the only game that has that feeling, except for that Korean game that may or may not ever come out.

isarai265d ago

You should try the Sniper Elite games, so good, especially with coop

Notellin264d ago

Same here. I'm glad there are some other people who enjoy these types of games!

@isarai I tried Sniper Elite 5 and ended up really enjoying that one. Went back and played 4 as well!.

ModsDoBetter265d ago (Edited 265d ago )

The last one was a trainwreck and has been in the bargain bin since just after launch. If they bring it back, they need a massive change in direction.

Inverno265d ago

only direction they should take is putting it in reverse and going back to what the originals did. I couldn't finish this game, and I made a choice to never play it again. I watched a video about the og Thief and Deus Ex games and the current AAA standard will forever hold back these games. These 2 games alone had already solved so many problems with modern gaming that I don't think they'll get a chance at something great unless they're made by a dev that actually give a damn.

Jesus the last installment sells at about 2 euro and even that is over paying for it. Absolutely diabolical game

SimpleSlave265d ago

Ups and Down? More like Up, UP, Pot Hole, Free Fall into the Abyss...

Rutaprkl265d ago

Thief Deadly Shadows remaster would be awesome.
