Final Fantasy 15 'quite far into development, given high priority' by Square

Development on next-gen RPG Final Fantasy XV is coming along well, series producer Yoshinori Kitase has suggested, telling VideoGamer.com that the game is "quite far into development" and has been given a "very high priority" status by Square Enix.

But then again, how many of us assumed Versus was going to be between 2009-2011? We have to be realistic regarding Japanese development, even MGS4 was 2008.

I dont understand what the hell are they doing with this game? How much time can developing a game possibly take!? It has been 8 YEARS since the game was revealed! >_< Even now, there are no solid details and the game is again missing in action for more than 7 months.
In the meantime we continue to enjoy the glorious Lightning Saga every couple of years.../s

well look at ff13 and tell me that, It sold terribly on Xbox yet they keep pushing it on that system. I don't think Square is ever going to learn or even recover from all of these major mistakes that they have been making.

Bout damn time since Lightning Returns is coming out tomorrow. Hopefully we'll see something at Sony's E3 this year running on the latest build with a release date.

Anyway, they wasted 8 years for this game. I really hope it will be worth the wait and much much better than XIII.

And of course i don't want them to milk it to XV-2, XV-3 Noctis Returns, XV-4 Noctis Will Be Back, and so on. I want one epic long journey with amazing conclusion.

I'd agree, I want final fantasy to be just that. The "Final" Fantasy, like how it used to be.

I like how they had to renumber it because it had been in development already so long that they made 2 sequels to XIII and created XIV and THEN created XIV AGAIN because it blew and still we haven't seen XIII-Versus. Games that get pushed back as unceremoniously as XIII-Versus tend to be disappointing, though I'm not wishing for it.

The most important part of a FF game are its characters. Then the story imo. I want FF characters who are easy to like and not annoying. There is no character in FFXIII who is actually likeable. I miss the good old FF days. Games like VI, VII, VIII, IX are one of the best games in general I've ever played.

The glory days. VII is still the highest selling Final Fantasy by a margin and each game's sales have been decreasing since then, which is funny because each console has a much larger install base than the PSX.

I don't think it could ever live up to the wait we have had to endure.

So I can expect some connections to Etro, Bhunivelze, L'cie gods, fate etc... granted we don't know how big a role they will play. The trailer made it look like another war over Crystals

"Quite" far? It's been almost 8 years, is it being "quite" far into development supposed to reassure us?

So, this is just an observation that I had while I was watching all the FF-XV trailers, but if you pay attention to the HP (health points) of the characters throughout different trailers, you can see that they go from low 700, to mid 2000, to mid 6000...to me this is like a progress timeline (how far into development the game is), I say this because in my past experience playing FF games (FF-7, FF-8, FF-9, FF-10, FF-12), I know that at the beginning of the game most of my characters had low HP (around 700), towards the middle of the game they had mid HP (around 2000), and towards the end of the game they had high HP (around 6000). So, based on this, I would say that this game is really close to being finished, which is supported by this article. I would guess that we may see this game by the end of 2014, beginning of 2015. This is just my observation and opinion, what do you think?
