Bundling it with Borderlands 2 is a smart move. Hopefully they also bundle it with Minecraft.

dbjj120883726d ago

Yeah, plenty of playtime in that one game alone.

TomShoe3726d ago

Yusssss. This new Slim better be below $170, and there better be a memory card price drop as well.

rambi803726d ago

minecraft bundle that is actually marketed to the target audience could be huge

Im Grabbing the Boardlands bundle

This is the news I've been waiting for.

I've been wanting to get a Vita, already have my list of games I want and the order I'm purchasing them.

I've just been waiting to hear about the slim and the release date but this extra awesome news makes that choice that much easier.

Was going to try and beat all my PSP games before I bought a Vita, but I don't think I will be able to in time.

Can't wait to play this. The First Borderlands was awesome, and the thought of BL on handheld is cool as well.

dedicatedtogamers3726d ago

Bundling it with Minecraft would be a smarter move.

HighResHero3726d ago

What? This is awesome! I may be buying a second Vita.

hellzsupernova3726d ago

are they coming in colours? or just black?

HighResHero3726d ago

In the video the bundle seems to come with the black one. They should bring several colors though because clearly we want them and it would be a smart marketing decision. At least a few colors. Then they could release more later. Either way they prices will hopefully go down on the imports because I'm not paying $250 plus.

HighResHero3726d ago

That would be really special.

dbjj120883726d ago

Best price point for Vita imo right now.

DarkLordMalik3726d ago (Edited 3726d ago )

It is $199 with Borderlands 2 and 8 GB card, all in a bundle.

Edit: Not sure about the card part
"The redesigned "slim" PlayStation Vita, the PCH-2000 model, will be released in North America this spring as part of a $199 Borderlands 2 bundle, announced Sony's John Koller during a press event in Los Angeles this afternoon."

"According to Koller, vice president of marketing for Sony Computer Entertainment America, the PS Vita version of Borderlands 2 will feature four-player cooperative play and cross-platform compatibility with save games from the original PlayStation 3 version of the game. It will also include six downloadable add-ons that Gearbox Software has released to this point. "

Cryptcuzz3726d ago

Source please?

That would be awesome if true. Hopefully more exact bundles are made, but with different types of games that would attract a wide range of potential buyers.

SoundGamer3726d ago

"the new PS Vita Wi-Fi model (PCH-2000 series) will be available via the Borderlands 2 Limited Edition PlayStation Vita Bundle this Spring. The bundle will include the new slim PS Vita system in black, the first-person role-playing shooter hit Borderlands 2 with six DLC packs, and an 8GB PS Vita memory card – all for $199.99 (MSRP)."

@Cryptcuzz:

You need a source link to the page you are already on? curious.

Try reading the article.

dedicatedtogamers3726d ago

It is. Actually, it's less. The system + game + 8G memstick is $199. I imagine the stand-alone system will be $170 or $180.

now were talking.. i might just have to pick one up

Mikey943726d ago

I heard these new vita aren't as good as the ones now the Screens are now Cheaper LCD instead of LED. Kinda disappointing as I'm planning on getting one when I get a PS4 but now I don't know.

lsujester3726d ago

The screen isn't quite as good, but everything else is better.

ICANPLAYGAMES23726d ago

I don't think it will be a huge downgrade, I don't know on that size of screen, but I'm guessing the trade off will be longer battery life.

Clover9043726d ago (Edited 3726d ago )

Yes, battery life is estimated one hour of extra, but I believe an IGN test had two extra hours of life. And as for the screen, the colors don't quite pop as much, but it's only noticeable if you hold the two variations of Vita side by side. Buttons are easier to push, and the rear touchpad is redesign to prevent users from accidentally touching it. The pros seem to outweigh the one minor con.

btw, the screen size is the same.

SirBradders3726d ago

Why don't you go to the shop and see for yourself.

dedicatedtogamers3726d ago

It's a tradeoff. The LCD apparently has a bit less bleeding/ghosting of colors compared to the OLED. Honestly, never had any issues with the OLED screen, but if the new LCD bothers you that much, an OLED Vita is $199 retail price...

Honorable mention to Drive Clubs Ferrari Fxx-K. Should be there over Horizon.

The Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak from the Gran Turismo series

Nissan Skyline from Need for Speed Underground

Motorcycle Steamroller from Dead Rising 3

And finally a car you never drive but saves your ass over and over : Honey Badger from COD MW2

I was thinking of Mad Max. That V8 felt really good to drive around in, especially with upgrades.

No one liked the Batmobile in Arkham Knight. Top 10?

toxic-inferno465d ago

I don't know... It was a strange addition to the game, and the parts of the game where you had to fight in it were tedious. But driving it around Gotham felt brilliant.
