"It’s funny how much we change."
-PSLS comparing Final Fantasy X on PS2 to its remaster not just on a game level, but on a personal level in light of the 12 years that have passed in between releases.
The official Xbox Game Pass Twitter account announced that starting tomorrow Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster will be available on game pass.
The game that got me into the Final Fantasy series, I actually stopped playing FF7 halfway through disc one back in 1997.
Personally the battle in this one legit make me fall asleep because they're so "do it the right way or no way". As a kid I loved it but as I'm older and play so much JRPGs. Definitely needed to be the ATB and not this one. But the story was something I loved
The game is actually live now.
I already unlocked an achievement on it and can I say: The grainy ass PS2 graphics still ended up looking great in HD. Of course, not leaps and bounds better, with old textures in some spots and old game design etc but it holds up beautifully and I'm excited for my 2nd ever playthrough. It has not lost it's charm for me personally.
And the Music! So good.
I wanna get better at blitz ball this time around tho
Right now, you can get a number of high-profile RPG games on PC for steep discounts. The deals include The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Game of the Year Edition, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, and Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom!
Japanese state TV NHK collaborated with Square Enix to hold a massive survey among nearly 500,000 fans, and the results are very interesting.
Eh. Never could get into it for long.
12 is my personal favorite. Followed by 6, 9, and 7.
I agree. It is the best of the Final Fantasy games because it had the perfect balance of game play and exploration, coupled with excellent graphics for its time, an amazing story and phenomenal music. The sphere grid was simple, innovative and engaging and the side quests were fun and challenging. Its definitely my favorite.
My top FF:
It's difficult to decide between FF7 and FF6, but I'm leaning more towards FF7. Then FF6 is a very close 2nd, followed by FF4. FF4 got me hooked on the RPG genre. The story, character development, and music got me hooked. Before FF4, I never cared for video game characters and their fate in a game.
You've changed.....
classics never get old
You're going to cry when you meet the end again.
That zelda ass picture is so distracting. I feel like I see a link to it in every story. For me, FF games get better with time not worse. FFX aged well for me.
I was 7 years old when I first played FFX and I only made it to Kilika Island above and got stuck on the boss there. I returned two years later and got to the part Mushroom Rock, then again a year later and made it to Defender X. I have had a rough history with FFX because I was never good enough or understood how to properly play the game. I played it last year emulated on PC and it was a pretty smooth run with hardly any grinding. I thought FF13 was harder lol.
This is probably complaints about how JRPGs seem like they are not what they used to be and about how they dont compare to newer western games but I never had that kind of experience. I love the traditional JRPG and even ones with newer faster paced battle systems x because IMO they are quite refreshing in todays fairly stale market. (It was kind of long so TL;DR and the quote about the PSVita version looking better than 1080p with very good AA is laughable)
I had a similar experience with KH1 and I always got stuck on the giant lizard on Tarzans world. I was really bad at JRPGs when I was young, except Pokemon which may have depth but is extremely easy for anyone to play. The more I play FF a (and KH) the more I notcie and the more I enjoy them. I know how the games work and usually I manage to beat bosses on first attempts with small amount of grinding or none at all. This allows me to focus on everything else and smaller details
