DSOGaming writes: "NeoGAF's members have launched a petition in order to show SEGA that there is PC crowd for more 'niche' games. As suggested, this petition is targeting games that are a perceived lower risk and the initial suggestions are: Vanquish, Bayonetta and Virtua Fighter 5."

Yup exactly I'm a PC and PlayStation gamer as well. If you're a gamer, stop bashing PC because it really gives you the best gaming experience when it comes to graphics, and it's 'gamer friendly' prices. Seriously, I don't understand the logic in how you can be a core gamer and bash on PC? Does not make since to me. I Understand in the consoles there's nothing wrong with preferring a particular ecosystem, but practically everyone has a computer. Heck aren't you on one now? PC gaming has been surging. You're really missing out if you don't game at all on PC, the experience is different and gratifying.

How is that any different than Sony fanboys bashing the PC and downplaying its games and then asking devs to bring those games to PS3/PS4? There are petitions for games like The Witcher 2 to be brought to PS3. And Sony fanboys get all excited every time it's announced that PC games like Planetside 2 or Outlast are coming to PS4.

There are also Sony fanboys petitioning to hopefully get Titanfall on PS4.

So console gamers talk shit about the PC, but still want its games. Then they take to the comment sections to complain about PC gamers petitioning to get more games on their preferred platform. What hypocrisy.

See, the thing is, PCs can be used for many different things besides gaming, and Most PC gamers aren't spending that much. I built a really high end unit back in 2010 for about $1000, and it still runs games better than PS4. The only reason my unit cost so much was because I bought multiple hard drives and an SSD. And the amount of money I've saved by purchasing games through steam instead of buying console games more than makes up for the extra cost. Besides, I don't have to buy a full set of new hardware when the "next gen" comes out. My system plays games from pretty much every gen. Ultimate backwards compatibility. Plus I can run PS2/PS1 games on an emulator(I actually own the copies of my games), so it's got that too. Just sayin'.

I pre-ordered MGR:R, I also brought Sonic Racing Transformed, Viking: Battle for Asgard (awful game, HotD: Overkill and Binary Domain. I have put my money where my mouth is.

And given how long Rising was on the top 10 on Steam I am sure plenty of others did the same.

Yes I am suggesting that, history has proven that whenever corporations at their leisure want to bone console gamers with whatever wallet gouging scheme they can muster be it charging for multiplayer, online passes, DLC milking, fees for services free elsewhere, et cetera, they simply accept it and thus it becomes a standard that often tries to bleed onto others.

If only console gamers treated every other past debacle like they did the Xbox DRM. We'd all be better off.

It's not as if you guys don't get DLC or pay a monthly subscription to play online games.
The way I see it, blowing everything into the proportion of the Xbox DRM debacle is just going into barking dog mode.
Of course, don't take it up the a$$ with stuff like DRM, but I don't think that b*tching and whining about every nook and cranny of this industry is going to make the everything that much better.
Look at EA and online passes. Gamers complained left right and centre, but it wasn't until MS came with their scheme for DRM that they decided to get rid of the passes. But in the end, it was just going to be replaced by another way of making money.
Even then, we're talking about games. We have a passion for them, we shouldn't take it overly seriously.

We don't have to pay a monthly subscription besides whatever games warrant it, like paid MMOs for example which update content monthly. Everything else falls in line with only paying your internet bill. As for DLC, before it became the nickel and dime scheme it is now content came as large expansion packs for a cheap price. It wasn't until the sixth generation once console online services took off did that begin to slowly change. I don't see how paying for services available for free elsewhere isn't something that warrants the same treatment or more compared to DRM. What you consider "b*tching and whining" is the exact submissive standard that has plagued this industry for the past decade. It's called protest and demand, you shouldn't have to settle for what these corporations dish out just so they can make an easy buck at your expense. The only "b*tching and whining" I saw was best described by the many who made an effort to give their two cents and nothing more. No protest, no community driven outrage to vote with their wallets, none of that. If gaming is a passion what reason would we not have to take it seriously?

If you were, you wouldn't have to create a petition for every other good game that releases, you'd buy your games full price and at launch, instead of waiting for the 80% off (or more) sale like the majority of you seem to do, making more devs see the value of making the game for PC.

I started gaming on a console because it's a bit easier for a 4 year old to work a SNES than a 1990s computer.

Pretty quickly I realized that the things I wanted to do with my games weren't possible on consoles, so I moved on. I imagine it's a similar story for a lot of PC gamers.

Notice the disagrees I've gotten and I just want to say this, MS just bought the rights to Gears of War a franchise I like but hoped would see a release on PS someday. I'm not going to go petition to have MS give it back so Epic can bring it to PS4.

Some games are made for consoles some for PC and some for all but just because its not on your platform of choice means you should go petition to get it to your system. If you want it buy it on the platform its on and if you don't want to platform its on just be content with what you get because your the ones missing out by not having more than 1 platform.

Well, I guess my question to you is just how you know these games won't sell, especially when you consider the recent release of Revengeance is a top seller on every major digital distribution site at the moment.
As for piracy, well, all I can say is that console's used game market must be a dream come true for developers and publishers as well.

Some of you that don't game on PC have a very distorted view of the industry. You seem to think that the PC misses out on tons of games and all developers focus on consoles. Neither of these things are true.

The truth is, the PC misses out on the occasional game just like any other platform misses out on some games. It's not like you can play The Witcher 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, Mark of the Ninja, Metro 2033, Titanfall or Alan Wake on a Playstation, for example.

But for some reason when you guys see a game like GTA5 not getting a PC release along with the consoles you start jumping to all sorts of silly conclusions about the PC being neglected by developers, not making money for publishers/developers, and missing out on lots of games.

Nothing could be further from the truth. For every occasional game that doesn't make it to the PC there are tons of others that are exclusive to the PC or which are shared with either the Playstation side or the Xbox side.
