Pretty good list. Glad to see them pick from several platforms but where's the representation from the handhelds? Where are the PC games? And do all three Mass Effect games *really* need to be on the list?

kythlyn3769d ago

This list was formed via a point system based on the individual Top Ten Lists of the Gamer Horizon editors. We actually asked ourselves if all three Mass Effect games really needed to be on the list, but based on our points system, they had to be.

dedicatedtogamers3769d ago

You know what? That's legit. If the list is based on a consistent way of voting, I can respect that, even if I don't - personally - think all three games are in the Top 25.

I think each game is it's own thing and they do form a collective whole more than any other game series did this generation. Though I personally enjoyed Mass Effect 3 quite a bit, I don't think it's anywhere near one of the 25 best games of the generation. But, such is the nature of how we scored this.

CRAPPY list! And all 3 Mass Effects? Like seriously?? Where are Bioshock, RDR and Mario Galaxy? GTFO

halo 4, tlou, and gta 5 is way to low should be top 10

Philoctetes3769d ago

Everyone's entitled to their opinions, but I'm scratching my head at ME3 being ranked ahead of those three. That's just bizarre.

N2NOther3769d ago

I completely agree with you. The way we scored it means that because one of us listed it as number one it had more weight than Mass Effect 2 which was lower on my list.

Believe me, it drives me insane to see Mass Effect 3 that high on our list. I like the game and all, but not top 10.

Such are lists.

Not halo 4. Do you realize journey won game of the year the same year halo came out? And I like Journey more personally, never played anything like it. I really don't know why some people like halo still, master chief turned into a cheesy protagonist that little kids look up to. There's so many better games now days. I liked halo 1 and 2. But then again I may be a little bias because I don't like many xbox games like gears (but the first fable was awesome). So my opinion may not be valid. I just honestly really don't see it in halo anymore not being mean, I just thought xbox fans would want a new ip by now. 343 studios can't even compete on Bungie's level in my opinion. I mean you guys have titanfall now, but it's another shooter and not exclusive. I'll be playing it on PC to give it a try.

Halo 3 Had more impact this gen, Trumps Halo 4.

Uncharted 2 should be #1

GTA is atleast #5

If you fix those items this list makes sense, if not, you are dead to me.

halo 4 trumps halo 3 in everything beside online trust me I'm a big halo fan

Surprised not to see Bioshock 1 - but again, opinions!

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing692d ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy852d ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all

Why MW 2019 is still the best looking Call of Duty to date

MW 2019 is five years old at this point and on previous gen hardware, but it is still the best looking Call of Duty game to date.

MW was an excellent videogame. They messed up Spec Ops big time, but aside from this it was a huge step in the right direction initially. Most notably, at launch it seemed to come from a very cohesive creative vision that was felt across gameplay, to story to art style/visual direction. It was also very notably written by prominent ex-Naughty Dog guys that quit almost immediately before release.

That COMPLETELY dissolved through post-launch content and the full pivot to a "cross-mode" narrative that completely obliterated the cohesion in overall story direction. Warzone then "became" the new face of Call of Duty and the franchise completely removed itself from anything remotely creatively "good". It is a pure money machine, so I kinda get why they're doing it....but I personally completely lost interest.

I would love to see Infinity Ward move off CoD and get to make their own product with full control. They clearly have some massive talent in their ranks but it's perverted by Activision's corporate interests.
