As a PC gamer looking at that list of WEAK evidence it doesn't give me any solid info that GTAV PC is coming.

GTAV was built on a PC so of course you are gonna have PC code in the Console version.

In the past both AMD, Nvidia, and STEAM have had place holders in their updates for games that never made it to the PC.

Now as far as me KNOWING a PC version is coming, Simple GTA PC is always 8 months later and it's pretty much a no brainer to see R* release the PC version along with XB1/PS4 version

Take your time R* that way I can buy GTAV PC with all the DLC for ONE low price.

IcenHancer Mod 2 FTW!

codelyoko3777d ago

Haha, thanks for commenting :P

> "GTA V was built on a PC" not really that doesn't mean it has to have PC Specific code. And the code is pretty specific, Dx 11, 64 bit mem, and more etc....
>The place holders you are referring to were the Nov Release ones. The retailer that marks it as March 2014 is actually in conjunction with Eurogamer who hav an insder in the R*.
>AMD Drivers GTA 5 Executable?

Zuperman3777d ago

& people say PC is awesome lol..

By the time PC gamers get GTA V, GTA X gets released on console gaming.

ATi_Elite3777d ago

"And the code is pretty specific, Dx 11, 64 bit mem"

also this can mean XB1/PS4 which by the way are DX11 64bit! LOL

I see what you are saying though but I do agree that GTAV PC is coming but I just think THIS evidence is weak.

BattleAxe3777d ago

I have no doubt that they will release GTA5 on PC. The only one that they've never brought to PC is Chinatown Wars, which is no big deal. GTA sells great on every platform it gets released on, so I'm certain it will come to PC once again.

The one game that I really can't believe Rockstar hasn't brought to PC is Red Dead Redemption, otherwise I think every other game franchise that they've made has come to PC.

Irishguy953777d ago

Zuperman

Sigh - PC has games the consoles don't too. All you need do is look them up. PC games never get the advertisement the Console ones do because they don't have a massive company to piss out money on ads.

ElementX3777d ago

@Zuperman

"By the time PC gamers get GTA V, GTA X gets released on console gaming. "

And GTA V on PC will STILL look better than GTA X on consoles

LocutusEstBorg3776d ago

Except Xbox One and PS4 SDK's DIRECTLY RUN games on Windows 7 and a GTX 780.

Neonridr3776d ago

@ATi_Elite - the PS4 is not DX11, that's a MS feature.

"Now as far as me KNOWING a PC version is coming, Simple GTA PC is always 8 months later"

Except for GTA:Advanced, GTA:LibertyCityStories, GTA:ViceCityStories, and GTA:ChinaTownWars. Those never made it to PC.

I'm sure GTA:V will be coming for PC, only because Rockstar would be fools to not make it and leave all that money sitting in our pockets.
XB1/PS4 while also likely, I think they're less so than a PC version. Rockstar already made a billion dollars on 360/PS3 which means a lot of people already have it for last(?) gen and the only reason for them to upgrade would be prettier console graphics, and I don't see that many people doing that.

wtopez3777d ago

"Except for GTA:Advanced, GTA:LibertyCityStories, GTA:ViceCityStories, and GTA:ChinaTownWars. Those never made it to PC."

I'm pretty sure you can play those on PC through emulators.

JunoDivided3777d ago

Of corse GTAA and storys and chinatown never made it to pc they were made for handhelds.

Nafon3776d ago

Should have just left the first half of that comment out. There was no reason for those games to be on PC. Good points in the second half though.

dsswoosh3777d ago (Edited 3777d ago )

Every new PC title requires spending money on a brand new GPU, which doesnt fit your motherboard, which means replacing the motherboard, RAM, Processor.

Then you discover the cables from your PSU and hard drive are different connections, so you replace them too.

Then the motherboard screws dont fit your case so you replace that.

After benefitting from one game, your PC doesnt run the next game, so you go through the whole process again.

Until you finally give up and say................

...........i cant be arsed any more, i think ill stick with my console thanks.

ElementX3777d ago

A comment by somebody who obviously doesn't know anything about PCs...

Mr Tretton3777d ago

dsswoosh, if you ever were a PC gamer, you were a really stupid one. That is your fault alone.

'Every new title'

Complete and utter BS.

Xristo3777d ago (Edited 3777d ago )

I've been using the same i7-Core 920 CPU, ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 Motherboard, and Corsair TX750 since 2009. Yes, I've upgraded from an nVidia 280, to an nVidia 580, and now an nVidia 780 Classified since then but not because I "had" to. I just prefer to have upper tier GPUs. And guess what? IT STILL ALL WORKS PERFECTLY!

If that was your experience, then it's your own fault for not doing the proper research before purchasing components. You just sound lazy (no research before buying) and/or ignorant with your comments (probably never even owned a gaming PC).

ProjectVulcan3777d ago

Everytime a comment like this is made a console gamer dies of ignorance. Yes, you can die of that. By you I mean you.

DFogz3777d ago

I put my PC together a little over a year ago now, and haven't had any issue.
No need to replace anything, and I won't have to for several more years, and even then it won't be because I 'have' to, but because I want to so I can play the latest&greatest at ultra settings.

I don't know what you did, but I think you're doing it wrong. Actually...I know you're doing it wrong.

tee_bag2423777d ago

Dsswoosh, clearly you're a troll and have no idea what your talking about.

Linwelin3776d ago

@dsswoosh, i have never read such crap, i don't believe you have ever seen the inside of a PC, you have no idea what you are talking about.

Nafon3776d ago

Wow exactly none of that was true. That's actually kind of impressive, right?

BISHOP-BRASIL3776d ago

Some stuff there I could actually see happening to inexperienced people trying to build their first PC, as there are a lot of processors, connection and power standards out there... But how could anyone putting up a PC together by itself ever get the numer one rule wrong? ATX case = ATX Mobo, power supply, etc... There no "screws don't fit" situation unless you are intelectually challeged or can't read the damn box.

Audiggity3776d ago

I was going to rant on how wrong you were... but, ummm... well. Look up. Looks like my work's done here.

always 8 months later? lmao, how many times has that happened

DFogz3777d ago

The exception to the rule is GTA III, it was only 7 months and a couple weeks between the console and PC version.
Other than that one though, they've all been released on PC exactly 8 months after the console.

allgamespc20123776d ago

if you really think its not coming to pc then you are just one big ignorant kid. of course its coming to pc, you dont need any proof to know this. just cause it didnt come with consoles doesnt mean it wont come to pc

ZombieKiller3776d ago

I want it on my PS4 damnit! NOW! NOW NOW NOW!

I had a 15 minute run at 5 stars last night because I was hanging from a tank being lifted by a Cargobob. My friends were driving the helicopter carrying the tank while I was in the tank spinning, laughing hysterically and shooting.

They drop me off on the top of the skyscraper and I sit there for like 5 minutes while they hover around me and I clear out all the police choppers. Once clear, they pick me up again, we continue to cause absolute hell for another 5 minutes before they explode sending me barraling down to the street. SOMEHOW (I don't know HOW!) I survived, ended up boarding a train, hopping off in a tunnel and escaping the 5 star wanted level.

NOW TELL ME THIS GAME DOESN'T NEED A FNCKING SHARE FEATURE..... I could have re-watched that a million times already.

Audiggity3776d ago

0 agrees? Really? Does anyone on N4G even play GTAV?

I got your back Zombie... sounds f*%%ing gnarly.

frostypants3776d ago (Edited 3776d ago )

Prepare yourself for "meh". If you liked GTA III, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, and GTA IV...you'll like GTA V. Because it's the same damn game as all of those. Don't expect anything innovative or game changing. Ignore the hype. Checkout the discrepancy between critic scores and user scores on metacritic.

Audiggity3776d ago

What are you talking about? The same damn game? Are you mixing up CoD for GTA? Soul Caliber for GTA? Dynasty Warriors? Madden? Fifa? Tiger Woods? Battlefield?

Recycled nonsense certainly exists... but if you are myopic enough to think it exists in the GTA series... you need to get your brain checked.

RumbleFish3776d ago

To be honest the right answer to this release tactics is to wait for the PC version to be really cheap with all DLC.

I love GTA and have bought all of them and some of them twice, but this tactic to let PC gamers wait just so sell the crap out of it on consoles is a nasty one. Tactics like these disgust me and are an insult to PC gamers.

lets_go_gunners3777d ago

It's coming these articles aren't needed. What you should be inquiring about is RDR, why haven't you gotten that game on your machines yet.

Xristo3777d ago (Edited 3777d ago )

When RDR was being being built, PC gaming was pretty low on the revenue chart. Steam (digital in general) was just starting to pick up and there was no guarantee that R* would make money from a hard/digital copy. These games take forever to make (5 years for GTAV). So it makes sense to me why R* never made a PC version. Could they just make a port? I'm sure they could. But I have no clue how hard THAT even is. Not a game developer here. :P

frostypants3776d ago (Edited 3776d ago )

Hate to break this to you, but traditional PC gaming is still pretty low on the revenue chart, once you factor out social games and F2P stuff.

Xristo3776d ago (Edited 3776d ago )

Since most digital sales companies (i.e Valve, GMG, GOG, Gamersgate) do not publish their revenue, where do you get your data? 60+ million Steam users alone suggests possible big revenue. There is more evidence supporting a "guess" (since that is all one can do) against your claim than for it.

CrossingEden3777d ago

Coulda sworn we got these types of articles on red dead redemption too. We all know that turned out.

Beastforlifenoob3777d ago

I honestly mean no offense but what are with these people who are obessively not wanting GTA V to come to PC, enjoy it on your Ps360 and let the PC players enjoy it too, why do you want PC players to not be able to enjoy the same game you enjoyed

Mr_Butata3776d ago

It's not a matter of not wanting. I couldn't care less if GTA came out on PC, WiiU, Android,iOS... Seriously, people dont care (at least i dont).

But, people seem like they are daydreaming on this subject. They have all this crazy theories that backup the title coming to PC. Until they make a announcement, theres no reason why people should be thinking that the game is realy coming out.

Or maybe wait... 2 of the 3 characters of the GTA main story is Trevor (P)hilips and Franklin (C)linton... The first leters of their last name are P and C! ITS OFFICIAL: GTA IS COMING OUT ON PC!!! :D

RumbleFish3776d ago

Everyone disagreeing with Beastforlifenoob has my pitty.

I will never buy a R* game again when they don't bring their games to PC though I have a PS4.

We have power! The power of our wallet. We should use this power.

Mr_Butata3775d ago

RumbleFish, what are you talking about? The game Sold TREMENDOUSLY WELL on "ancient" consoles... It broke all time records. Do you realy think you can hurt em much by not buying any more games?

You are delusional.

ZombieKiller3776d ago

Keep in mind although both R* games, RDR doesn't have NEARLY as big of an install base as the mighty GTA.

GTA is awesome!

ExitToExisT3777d ago

Seriously it's like the 5th time this site and that 'author' made exactly same article.
Please stop approving this garbage.

On topic: I believe the PC version will announced in January.

Rockefellow3777d ago

This really shouldn't be in the "News" category, since it's just a load of useless conjecture we've heard thousands of times before.

Grand Theft Auto V PC Optimized: Best Graphics Settings in 2024

Grand Theft Auto V was released on PC on the 14th of April 2015. That means the game will be nine years old in four days, and it’s still among the most-played titles on Steam. With a 24-hour peak of 145K players, it’s as popular as Baldur’s Gate 3, Apex: Legends, and Destiny 2.

Ex-Rockstar Dev Finally Explains Why Small Planes Randomly Crashed in GTA San Andreas

Former Rockstar Games Technical Director Obbe Vermeij has finally revealed why some planes would randomly crash in GTA: San Andreas.

Profchaos13d ago

This fly by feature was on the cutting room floor due to the random plane crashes and it's one of those things I'm so thankful made it into the final version as these random fly by and crashes make the world seem more alive on the extremely limited PS2 hardware you needed everything you could possibly get in a open world to convey that feeling.

And accross hundreds of hours of gameplay I probably died around 3 times as a result of these fly by failures but I loved every time it happened

isarai13d ago (Edited 13d ago )

It made the world feel more human, and honestly kinda insane that even today with all these open world games, almost no one can capture that like R* even when compared to their ps2 games

Skuletor11d ago

Lol, I remember those. I vaguely remember dying from one crashing into my car once too.
