It didn't perform poorly, Square Enid over estimated it's sales forcast. It sold 3.5 million during the quarter it launched, square, thought they were gonna sell 5 million...

I disagree. Tomb Raider is a successful series. This is the perfect chance to play it without having to go back to PS3 or Xbox 360.

Call me a cynic or call me wrong after it launches but if it isn't just the PC version with a few tweaks to the graphics settings and assets with some control gimmicks lobbed in I'll be surprised. Good excuse to try and sell the game again, we are seeing a lot of these sorta cross gen upgrades

While I'll agree this seems like a lackluster improvement over the current gen offerings, Tomb Raider was still a good reboot.

I really enjoyed the game. For what they are adding to the "next gen" versions though I'll pass as the previous gen versions were good enough visually to me and I've already got my entertainment out of it.

That said, for those hold outs out there this would still be a good game to pick up if you already have a PS4 or XB One and didn't get the previous gen versions.

considering I just now bought it for $15 Black Friday and am just finally playing it.... I'll stick to the PS3 version. It is nice to see added features, PS Vita play but I don't see a reason for dropping 60 more bones on this game again. It's solid so far so if i'm bored and it's $20 maybe I'll break down eventually.... Quite frankly disappointing. They should have focused on pushing out a new entry with this engine.

EASILY top 3 funnest game I played this year on ANY game. I loved Tomb Raider. But, I would have rather them throw in like this exclusive side story DLC ala Bioshock: Infinite or make some new puzzle bonus levels inside the game.

Either way, cool for people who buy the next gen systems and didn't get to play this gem.

It was a great game. Sales doesn't equal quality.

By Square's ridiculous "forecast" it underperformed. However the game sold millions and much better than other franchises under Square. This and Sleeping Dogs were fantastic and good for the industry.

Not everything has to be COD and GTA numbers wise.

I'll be honest tress fx looks weird in the game more than it seems natural. It flicks around and seems a bit distracting quite a lot. Not to mention when every other character you see in the game is noticeably less follically endowed there is rather a stark contrast.

I left it turned on but I'm not sure what it exactly adds, apart from sometimes having Lara appear as if she had the spawn of cousin itt sat on her head having random seizures

As much as I'd like that to happen I don't see Square even thinking of doing that for PC crowd.

I'll probably rent the definitive version when it comes out though just because I did enjoy TR but not buying a new version as PC could hold me over just fine all things considered. I still don't think its a bad thing they 'ported'/updated it for new consoles as could get a few more sales and it is actually a very good game.

yeah, i have a feeling about it aswell. they would never do anything nice for the PC crowd oven tho we have been here from the start and is still here.

well its a simple mod with Texmod like all the other tombraider games, they will be able to rip the data from the new game no matter what.
just wish they did something nice for a change without needing to mod the game ourselfs.

new textures and meshes for the Lara model. nothing more really. they say that they have better meshes and textures in the world aswell. but comparing to what? think they meant over the old gen version and not the PC version.

on a side note, the PC version is still on Sale this very moment with all the DLC on sale aswell at 80% off. thats 10 euros for the game and less than 5 euros for all the DLC.......
or you can just skip all the Online DLC since you wont be playing a Tomb Raider game to play online anyway.

Actually, its more than just 1080p. Her face as totally been remodeled, making her look more realistic. Everything looks different from the trailer they showed. You can tell its not just some port. I would say it looks better than the pc version because it has only the Tress thing, but better character models as well. I am aware of your sarcasm now, though. But its too late.

Great game, but with so much other stuff out there right now, I have no desire to revisit it just yet. Plus, the game ran a bit too long. Normally that's not an issue, but at a certain point that I thought the game was done and over, I realize I was only halfway through it and the 2nd half wasn't as well done as the 1st half.

As much as I'd put the PS4 over the XBox ONE.. I think the special features on the XBox ONE/Kinect is far better and more intuitive.

The PS4's "mood light" can only be glimpsed through the reflection on your TV/monitor.

That's just my opinion.

If I can upgrade for $10 using the PS4 upgrade policy, I will buy this. But the graphics don't appear to be that much of an improvement, though props to them for changing the hair and face (both of which look far better now). Otherwise, I won't buy this for years, until it's massively reduced on PS+. But I like the inclusion of the comics. Very nice.
