The argument that the Wii U has no games is no longer valid. There was a time when the Wii U just wasn’t compelling enough for gamers due to their lack of must have titles. This holiday season however, the big N has turned things around in a major way and the Wii U’s library is steadily growing with a number of must have titles for the system. With these newly released games along with a promising 2014, the Nintendo Wii U may be your best bet for this holiday season.

If you are gonna make that argument then PS3 is the best system. Just get a PS4. It's tha cheapest investment. Stop being concerned about now. Because you might spend $300 on a PS3 or WiiU but those won't be supported in 2 years from now.

The Wii U is a fantastic console. If you don't want to believe that, fine. But it has a ton of fun games. I've really enjoyed playing games with it and can't wait to play the new Mario on it.

If you haven't tried the Wii U yet, give it a shot before you bash it. You might be shocked at how good the console is.

i don't know about the general populace but i don't buy a substitute game console to compensate for lack of games on my console of choice. imo buying a game console is an investment for the future !

husomc, it isn't just a substitute game console. I've had so much fun with the console. I can't wait for a new Zelda game and Super Smash on it. I have put about 150 hours into Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Few games have gotten me to put that many hours into them. Lego City is a great game and Wonderful 101 is a fun game. It is, in my opinion, underrated. Like I said, don't judge the console without trying it out for yourself. You'll be surprised at what you find.

husomc, I'm not saying buy it in place of the PS4. Honestly, I bought both because I like what they both offer. I didn't buy the Wii U to replace the PS4 in any way. They both serve their purpose, and they both are pretty fun for me.

Freak, if they drop the gamepad, I don't see the appeal of the system anymore. The gamepad is awesome. There just wouldn't be anything setting it apart from the pack. And also, you are abandoning your initial customers. Most people (myself included) bought the console because of the gamepad. Are they really willing to give their hardcore fans, the only people really supporting them right now the middle finger?

I have a Wii U and I currently would not recommend it over another system. It has been out a year and barely has anything on it. You buy consoles for the games that is true but you also buy them for their future prospects. Maybe if they announce Zelda or Metroid will release in 2014. But then I would probably still say wait until x game comes out. Mario 3d world is great and all, but I really don't care for it as much as Galaxy or Galaxy 2.

dumb comment.. wii u is the best console this holiday by far.. what games on both xbone and ps4 match the games on wii u like.. mario u, luigi u, monster hunter, pikmin 3, zombie u, wind waker hd, mario 3d world, wonderful 101. Im not even going into the virtual console which has tons of games for wii and wii u. earthbound says hello. And its also 200$ less then the bone and 100 less then the POS4. did i mention the free online, or full backwards campatible thing? or being able to choose the controler you use? wii mote and chuk, pro controler, classic controler, or gamepad. what about the internet browser on wii u? did you know it wipes the floor with these super consoles? or how about it loads up quicker... not to bad for a weak underpowered console eh? Its the best system because it has been out longer and has some games - in the long run, its not a good investment at the moment :( it makes me sad to say this because i do want to get a wiiu its just im strapped for cash and i cant see myself buying one for a little while.

Doubt that . It's not even about the obviously just in infancy ps4/xb1 ... i just dont see it even beating the goods and juice the ps3/360 still got . But then again , i'm not the target for pure mario games nor a big zelda fan . I've mostly only enjoyed the spin offs such as Kart , tennis , smash bros etc . The Xbone and the PS4 will be getting early in 2014 The Witcher 3 and Dragon Age 3.
And maybe more games might inc from Japan.

But what about the wiiu on that matter?
There still no words about when we will see games such Fire Emblem, New Zelda or that beautiful FF clone will arive.

Actually, Dragon Age: Inquisition doesn't hit until Q3 2014 and The Witcher 3 is TBD 2014. Monster Hunter is out on Wii U, another Monster Hunter will is coming soon, the best version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution is on the Wii U, X should be dropping sometime next year, and Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem should hit sometime over the next year and a half.

Honestly,all the consoles are offering some great games for RPG fans.

The best console this holiday is...

PS3>X360>PS4>X1>W iiU

Both the PS3/X360 have massive libraries and are less expensive than the WiiU which is really a marginal increase in power over these last gen systems.

I keep seeing these articles pop up and they seemingly forget the WiiU's true competition.

You can't discount the new next gen consoles for only having a few months worth of releases while the WiiU has had it's titles for over a year. If we're playing that game, then the two last gen HD consoles are the better choice for the reasons described above.

I'm not saying the Wii U is necessarily the best console. But going by the above logic the Wii U would be best because it has access to the Wii's entire library due to backwards compatibility. Not to mention the entire Wii AND Wii U's virtual console libraries.

i'll just butt in , but your rebuttal seems based on the idea that the Wii's Library would even dwarf the ps3 or 360 Library . A initial postulate many , myself included would easily disagree with ... despite some astounding titles in varied genres .

It had the stigma , righfully so or not , of being considered gathering dust , more frequently and longer than the 360 or ps3 .

Haha, I'd agree with you there. The Wii's library is nothing compared to the 360's and PS3's. And even including Wii games I don't necessarily think the Wii U is the best.

But that's why I included the virtual console libraries on there. When taking those into account it's library is massive...Then again by that logic PC would have the biggest library out of everything.

It's too expensive... PS3 & 360 are both cheaper and with a much greater games catalogue.

That's why Wii U is selling so poorly, the people who are late to the party and would normally buy one are getting those instead.

Wii U isn't competing against PS4/Xbone even though it's priced as such.
