Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is probably one of the most amazing rebirth stories in the history of game development, with the failure that was the original Final Fantasy XIV rebuilt from the ground up and turned in one of the best MMORPG of the market.
Looks like things are going fairly well and new frontiers are going to be explored soon, like the upcoming launch on Valve's digital download service Steam. In the meanwhile 100,000 new players join the game every month.
Today, during a pane at PAX East, Square Enix announced the release date of the next expansion Dawntrail, on top of the editions and more.
The MMORPG will arrive on Xbox consoles on 21st March following its open beta, with Square Enix releasing further details on the launch in a new Lodestone blog post.
Not only is Game Pass required to play the game in full, but FFXIV Coins will be required to make purchases - a new currency not used on PC or PlayStation.
What's even the point if they're doing everything possible to convince people NOT to play?
Bad idea. Kind of at the point its almost like a repeat of FFXI on the 360 with it requiring Gold to play.

Square Enix took a huge gamble trying to turn this game around, it looks like it's really paying off though.
Sweetness good for SE, not easy bringing a game back from the dead but they did.
This is really a fantastic game! If you like FF games or have some interest in MMORPGs, buy this immediately. It is very fun and enjoyable.
