Lycett Warns About Upcoming ASRT DLC

“I know there will be controversy around this one”

The good news is that Sega and Sumo Digital have another bit of DLC lined up for the PC version of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, now a year after its original release. The bad news is that all indications are it will only be for PC, and even the game’s EP Steve Lycett has admitted in various venues what’s coming may upset Sonic and Sega fans in want of something more ideal.

A few weeks back, a new package presumably containing the DLC was uploaded to Steam servers for vetting. In a post on the Sega forums yesterday, Lycett there’s nothing to report on the console front yet:

Anyone wanting console news is going to be disappointed though, not through any lack of trying however.

In a second, separate post on the Steam community forums, Lycett attempted to hint at what’s coming:

You see, I know there will be controversy around this one, I fully expect it. What’s going to be amazing though is something else I have planned that is rather secret. That’s going to be a full on popcorn moment but you might have a small wait.

I’ll probably get into trouble, but it’ll be worth it :)

We’ll know for sure in due time. If you want to get in on the PC action, now is a good time; as part of a larger Steam sale, ASR Transformed is 50 percent off on the service.

Simon from Yogscast is DLC. PC exclusive. For charity. Great! We dont get any character that could sell really well (miku and ryo)in order to raise tons of money for charity, instead we get... SOME BRITISH GUY! Whether the Yogscast is a entertaining youtube channel(s) i have no clue, i dont watch them. But seriously SEGA, this is getting really out of hand.
I guaran-f@#1^g-tee this will just upset people and not raise nearlly as much money as they think it will.

I know the Sonic fanbase (mostly the "Make SA3 o nawt <3 N E moar" people) for the most part is extremely whiny and annoying. But really i would probably be saying this exact same thing for any other game where the console releases were getting absolutely nothing in terms of extra content, while the PC version gets tons of exclusive characters that are all marketing based.

Absolute crap. I love this game and my friends and I play the crap out of it. The fact that Sega or Sumo are not releasing new tracks or even characters is mind boggling. WTF!

These types of games are an absolute must for updated and new tracks.

Shame on you Sega.

Why Are Steam's Recommendations Dogpoop?

Blindfolding myself and clicking a Steam page at random would serve me better recommendations than Steam’s algorithm

Hmm, not sure I agree with that. The recommendations I get are usually pretty good, but then again I have pretty large library of games on Steam and hundreds of them in my wish list, along with lots of curators I follow for it to build recommendations off of. On occasion it will throw me a random FIFA game or something I've never bought or shown interest in, but mostly its decent IMO.

If Pseudoregalia is one of the best I'd hate to see what the worst look like.
