First Confirmed Reports of Broken Xbox One's in the Wild

Last week, prior to the PS4 release, the larger gaming media pounced on every report of a PS4 problem like rabid animals. This week, with the Xbox One coming out tomorrow, reports of issues with the system are generally being ignored. But with the system technically already launched in parts of Europe, we’re starting to see issues pop up along with video proof.

ALSO lets not forget...we need to claim that this is the NEXT RROD in a pathetic attempt to see the other console go down in flames because it would somehow fill another pathetic rivalry void with in us all.

This was obviously going to happen. A lot of fanboys jumped on the PS4 failures, and a lot will probably jump on these failures. Unless we start seeing an RROD-level of failure, I think we can assume everything is okay. Plus, the console is huge so there should be enough ventilation.

Seriously? Lol fanboy website gets approved on here... This is a video of someone unable to download the update. It is NOT a broken Xbox One/DOA/BLOD unit like with PS4's. Not saying their won't be any broken units, but this is not one of them.

Also, for those unaware, Xbox Live is undergoing last minute maintenance/switch over right now, which could very well be the issue with whoever seems to have gotten their Xbox One already and is trying to download the update.

This is what I wrote 5 days ago when the PS4 hardware issues were being blown WAY out of proportion.

So the second video could easily be that the patch has been taken down until official launch? as for the first 1 well it cant be an issue with the power cable as it does attempt to power on.

1 half broke ps2 - this guy still works on occasion but hard to complain. it had a of life in it

2 broken xbox's - each lasted a solid 2 yearsbefore they comepletely stopped but both had disc read errors afetr only about a year

4 broken 360's - red rings. first time it happened was the day i picked up the original gears. annoying to say the least

1 broke ps3 - had since about 1 year after launch, decent life span but also wasnt used much. got a new room mate late last year, it broke in march. he used it a lot. makes me wonder if i had used it as my main system if it would have lasted as long

wii - still works but is wicked loud. not impressive life though since it prob has 50hrs total use in all the years ive had it.

every console i have dreamcast and lower, works like a charm still! including my NES, those will never die!

Anyway, the same I said on the PS4 articles is that there are bound to be broken consoles, because that`s how modern electronic devices are. You can`t check all of them before shipping and there will always be some that fail. It`s very unfortunate for the people suffering from those issues.

That said I don`t want to see any people who where going like "the PS4 has widespread issues and is broken" come here and say that this is only isolated while they pretended that for the PS4 that had a small amount of people suffering from issues was widespread but when the same happens to their console of choice it`s a non issue.

In reality the failure rate for ps4 suggests only a small percent of failures compared to how many were sold. Im assuming it may be similar for xbox one, but only time tells.. My PS4 has had no issues since I got it day one and I don't think the Xbox one will have a 50 percent failure rate like the 360.

Actually the article is wrong. The power supply is supposed to display either a white or orange light. It's when the power supply doesn't display any lights that there is an issue.

Anyways, him posting a video doesn't necessarily mean anything yet. For all we know he doesn't even have the thing hooked up to his TV.

Regardless, if it is a hardware issue, like the PS4, it is to be expected. I am sure we will see many more videos being posted after the midnight launch here in NA.

BOTH of these new machines are really cramming in some pretty hot hardware and not to mention extremely complicated and VERY compact architecture to boot, so one can expect some failures, amongst other issues, along the way. I believe that when one person have a problem with there respective hardware they shouldn't act as if everyone will be the same. Erm. The video is not showing a problem with the console. It's showing a problem with either the guy's network connection, or his ISP, or the XB Live service.

How do these articles get approved? Really does make N4G seem like its a fanboy haven. If there's a cool article about how awesome Sony is, it should be approved. Before I say this know that I'm not referring to the PS4 or it's games at all. A game can be rendered at 1080p and still look like crap. Take The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct for example which runs at 720p on the Xbox 360 I think. That game came out earlier this year and it looks like it was made in 2005.
