Hands-On with Xbox One Launch Titles - Game-Smack Ireland

This past week I had hands-on with some of Xbox One’s launch titles and decided to make a small, albeit, 23 minute video talking about each of the titles and impressions on how they look and feel. There’s gameplay of each game to go with it, but sure it works just as well to listen to it while doing something else.

Nice little preview of the games.
And the new trigger feedback sounds great.

Really enjoyed listening to his impressions. They seem to be almost exactly in line with my expectations, which is reassuring.

Glad to hear he really loves DR3. That's one of the games I'm most looking forward to. The other one I'm excited for is BF3, which he said was beautiful, but the demo was only a 6v6 or something small like that.

Also glad to hear he enjoyed RYSE.

great, can't wait for Thursday night. Excellent preview. I actually purchased an extra controller ahead of time and just love it. It feels great, Ryse first for me then a bit of forza and KI. launch looks great for xb1.

I picked up an extra controller the yesterday. It's amazingly comfortable. I just traded in my PS3 today for 90% extra trade credit at GameStop. Traded in GTA V as well. They gave me $220 in credit. I had my XB1 paid for already with the extra controller and BF4. What the hell am I supposed to spend $220 on? I only want Ryse and BF4 and I got Killer Instinct with my Xbox Live Day One Card. I really need to see some reviews.
MS release the embargoes already.

On a side note, developers need to take advantage of the Impulse Triggers because the touchpad on the PS4 controllers is pretty sweet and it works really well.

NBA 2k14, even if you don't like sports games, it's the closest thing either of these consoles have to a killer app.

I'm getting Forza, Need for Speed, Killer Instinct, Ryse, and Dead Rising 3. Then slowly I'll look for downloadable titles over the next month or so.

Also I think the xbox live card only comes with the shadow jago character not the full game. I'm getting the $40 version.

I can't wait... I'm done with the PS4 launch games that I wanted to play...

On to X1!

mhunterjr3810d ago

Already done? Damn, you didn't waste any time!

Gamer6663809d ago

I have already played most of the indie games on PC/X360 so I don't need to replay them on PS4... I also buy all multi-platform games on Xbox because I like the achievement system and XBL service more than trophies/PSN (Personal taste not fanboyism).

So, on day one I bought KZ, Knack, and Resogun. Resogun is awesome and I spent about 12 hours Saturday at it, KZ wasn't as good as previous iterations but I clocked about 10 hours Friday (campaign and some multi-player), and Knack... I made myself play through the Knack campaign but it was a painful 14 hour experience Sunday (Not a bad game, but should've been a digital only game and half the size).

Psyched and ready for X1 now... I am going to focus on DR3, Forza 5, Ryse, KI3, Lococycle, and Zoo Tycoon... Plus the multi-platform games, BF4, COD Ghosts, and NFS Rivals.

What Happened To The Dead Rising Series?

Over the last week, Jake has been going back to the Dead Rising 2 Off The Record remaster and has been an absolute blast. When he was 15 he first got his Xbox 360 and Dead Rising with it, it was unlike any other experience. It made him wonder though, what happened to the Dead Rising series.

Interesting timing. This retrospective was released just a few days ago: https://youtu.be/Et-cKSrWuc...

Darksonic221358d ago

Ah no, I just felt like writing it as I started playing the game again and wanted to offer up my opinions 😁

InklingGirl1358d ago

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the title.

MadLad1358d ago

Complacency and new teams who didn't understand what made the series special.

Darksonic221358d ago

Seems like there was just a ton of infighting aswell and so many more issues. Honestly sadly Dead Rising 5 before it was cancelled sounded nothing like dead rising, nothing learnt from. Dr4 at all.

ColdSin1358d ago

DR4 should have not been made anyways. DR3 closed everything nicely.

Check out the vid i posted above.

MadLad1358d ago

They're a solid channel. I always click on their vids, unless it's a series/game I simply have no interest in.

RamRod881358d ago

They took away the depth and charm of the game that made it fun and interesting, and made it into a generic zombie killing game.

DeadManMMX1358d ago

This was the series the got me to buy an Xbox 360. The first one was so good. It still had horror elements. As it went on it became kind of a parody. Never forget getting Zombie Genecider achievement and then restarting the game to get the Mega Buster. That thing was monstrous against enemies.

Gamerking821358d ago

But you never know it might be RISING again someday .

haha yes it may....good one.

The Decade's Bizarre and Quirky Gaming News

VGChartz's Patrick Day-Childs: "2020 is upon us! The past decade has had some downs, like the influx of monetisation within full games, Blizzard's community backlash and EA winning the worst company in America award twice, but also some ups, like the leaps in understanding gaming from more mainstream companies to wholesome news like gamers helping preserve a controller signed by someone’s deceased mum.

The decade has also been the highlight of some… bizarre news, and I decided collect together some of the more obscure and quirky stories to make you giggle or question what the hell happened this decade."
