Xbox One Game Disc Dumped By Hackers

Videogamescene.com reports that Xbox hacker c4eva has apparently managed to dump the Xbox One version of Call of Duty: Ghosts. The game has not yet hit torrent sites or other pirate channels but we’re sure it won’t be long. Of course, there is still no way to play the game on a retail console.

cod games is to easy to get hack

alexkoepp3805d ago

Wonder how many times an un-playable copy of a XB1 game gets downloaded...

Baylex3805d ago (Edited 3805d ago )

I was thinking the same thing... And I wonder too, how many days it's going to take to hack the consoles...

tachy0n3805d ago (Edited 3805d ago )

but still PS4 and Xbox One are the best! :D

jjb19813805d ago (Edited 3805d ago )

Beeeee-atch! Let's support hackers and people who rip of devs! (Sarcastic) I can't believe the people who monitor this let scum like you post comments like this. Imagine going to work for your company for free, you f*cker!!!

SaturdayNightBeaver3805d ago (Edited 3805d ago )

hmm its pirated not hacked lol.

@jjb1981 dude id buy the game 5 times just to support a dev that made a great game. but in case like COD they should be the ones paying me money and supporting me for playing their BS..

Nocando3805d ago (Edited 3805d ago )

Heard that bit of flawed reasoning more times than I can stomach. If you go to a crappy resteraunt and choke down the food do you walk out on the bill? No, you just don't eat there again. Where do you people learn your values?

a_squirrel3804d ago

@Nocando
What.

Jebe didn't even say if it was okay or not. He just said, actually it's pirating not hacking, yea doofus.

DragonKnight3804d ago

Actually it's hacking and THEN pirating. You can't pirate software that doesn't exist anywhere on the net for you to pirate, you first need to dump the software through hacking the copy protection in order to pirate it.

Also, if you don't like CoD why are you playing it?

"I hate Call of Duty, it sucks so bad and is the same sh*t every year. I'm not paying for this garbage, I'm just going to download it and play it every day because it's so awesome that I can't not play it, I just don't want to pay for it because it sucks monkey balls."

That's literally how that "logic" sounds like.

Bonerboy3805d ago

One "Mission A-Corn-Plished" burger please.

ChrisW3805d ago

Ummm... It's not hard to get past a certain coding to access game files, if you have the know-how. However, figuring out how to get a pirated copy to work on the console will take quite some time.

I'm quite certain all next-gen consoles have some pretty serious measures to combat piracy.

Roccetarius3805d ago

The way both consoles are set up now, i'm pretty sure it won't take long for them to crack it.

Rockefellow3805d ago

Are you speaking from experience, or are you just offering up useless conjecture? In my opinion, I seriously doubt either platforms' security measures will be usurped in the near future; it took years for the PS3 to finally get infiltrated, and Microsoft assuredly beefed up their security in response to the rampant and simple 360 hacking.

ChrisW3805d ago

Well of course he has no factual basis to support is claim, and he points that out with, "I'm pretty sure..." However, to call his opinion useless would make yours just as useless. After all, you opined about hacking as well and you supported yours with, "I seriously doubt..."

Just to be fair, I used, "I'm quite certain..."

You see, we're all full of opinions.

Scatpants3805d ago (Edited 3805d ago )

They recently figured out a way to make an ODE for PS3 without requiring the drive key. I am guessing they will be able to implement something similar with the PS4 in a much quicker amout of time than it took for the PS3 unless they came up with some way to combat ODEs

andrewsqual3805d ago

@Rockefellow Not if being able to copy over full "Arcade" titles to a USB drive that has been configured for Xbox One is the same as on 360.
Don't forget that when Microsoft introduced the "Install full game to your console" feature in 2008, it was instantly hacked that you didn't need the disc for the game to work. They basically handed that one to the hackers. And Xbox One games install completely to the hard drive with the added "feature" of NOT needing to connect to the Internet at all which was a huge part of their original security plan. We will have to see what happens after it is out.

Eamon3805d ago

"Microsoft assuredly beefed up their security in response to the rampant and simple 360 hacking"

A lot of conjecture thrown about. It is true that MS beefed up their security but it was cracked in no time.

Currently, you can still flash any Xbox 360 dvd drive as has been possible since many years ago. And play on Live without getting caught too.

silvacrest3805d ago

you might just be right, the x86 architecture, mostly off the self hardware could mean that both consoles are easier to hack simply because the hardware should be very familiar to the hackers

Naga3805d ago

Really, I think all of this hacking stuff is a little overblo-ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL

Eamon3805d ago

haha, Harbinger meme is too good.

MeteorPanda3805d ago

honestly l can't hate hacking... it's brought me games l wouldn't of ever gotten the chance to otherwise. specially on the ds and psp.

Khajiit863805d ago

Thats how I look at it. Ibuy so many games and want to play so many more but iamnot buying every single game I have bills n shyt

shivvy243805d ago

im that guy who trys before buy, I was considering getting Borderlands cause it looked cool so I torrented it first, I played a few hours and it wasn't my type of game so I got rid of it ! imagine if I bought it :/ ,, made the mistake with dead space so not doing that again

dmeador3804d ago

@Khajiit86 @MeteorPanda

Thieves always try to justify stealing, there are some interesting studies on it, you should look them up. Believe it or not everyone has "bills n shyt" doesn't mean you should steal games.

Khajiit863804d ago (Edited 3804d ago )

@dmeador

There is a study for everything but who cares about that. I most likely buy more games than you and encourage my friends to get a lot of good games as well. If I really like a game I will buy it. I have bought gta 5, fifa 14, nba 2k14, beyond, rayman legends, and battlefield 4 in just the last 2 months. So I do my part for the gaming world.

KillrateOmega3804d ago (Edited 3804d ago )

Stealing is stealing. There is no way to justify it. Those who do it are scum and those who support it are just as pathetic.

The excuse that you have 'bills n shyt' is not acceptable. If you really do have 'bills n shyt', then maybe you should spend less time stealing and gaming, and more time working.

@shivvy24

This is an equally unacceptable excuse. If you really wanted to sample the game before committing to a full purchase, then just rent the game.

Irishguy953804d ago (Edited 3804d ago )

When I rent a game I finish it. And then the devs have not benefited from me either. Only the company I rented from.

Meh anyway. Laws and stealing are just too narrow to look at the big picture alot of the time.

The only ones I want benefitting from my money are the ones who made the game. I don't care what the government thinks especially the wankers in my country.

What Piracy has led me into is - I buy way more games, I've been introduced to way more devs. For example, the Witcher 2? Pirated it. Then I bought the Enhanced edition. STALKER. Pirated. Eventually bought the first and second game. Killing Floor. Pirated. Bought. The list goes on. These devs, would never have gotten my money or my future support if I didn't get initially pirate them. Piracy for me has been

"Let me look for non mainstream games that are supposed to be good, I don't have the money to buy all these games, if I like them i'll definitely buy them in the future".

The circle always comes back around. Now that I have the money, these devs will forever be supported by me. And yes, I am a thieving criminal. I hope these devs don't care about that now though.

KillrateOmega3804d ago (Edited 3804d ago )

Ah, yes. The infamous 'pirate to try' excuse.

The real excuse here is that you wanted something and didn't have the money to pay for it, so you justify it by saying that you'll 'buy the game later'. However, you would be in the overwhelming minority if you bought a game after having acquired the full game via pirating.

But let's say you are in this minority, this still does not justify pirating. In this day and age there are so many ways to tell if you are going to like a game before you play it, that you don't 'need' to play it before you buy it. Obviously nothing will replace first-hand experience, but it isn't necessary. There are reviews, video reviews, Let's Plays, video guides, etc. The very day that a game is released, there is so much relevant information about it that to not be educated on it is a CHOICE.

You chose not to do the simple search necessary to determine whether or not you are going to enjoy the game.

Take a Retribution: Ride to Hell. You don't need to play it to know that it is a pile of steaming dog feces. There are reviews that will tell me this. Even better, I can simply search for a video and see it is for myself.

You can throw out whatever faulty excuse you can think of for you contributing to ****ing over hard-working men and women, but when it comes down to it: people pirate games, because they don't want to pay for them.

All Call of Duty Games Ranked from Worst to Best

BLG writes: "Call of Duty has to be the most recognizable franchise on the planet. They didn’t get that way by only making a handful of games.

COD has a long and storied career. Launching as a PC WW2 first-person shooter, Call of Duty has gone through numerous makeovers and been on just about every system. The series has gone through some serious highs and tragic lows. I’ll be looking at each Call of Duty game, the good the bad, and the ugly."

Vanguard better be at the fkn bottom. Can’t believe ppl haven’t eviscerated that game with all its lacking

Minimoth792d ago

Yeah, it's close to the bottom. There are a couple of worse ones. Infinite Warfare definitely deserves its place.

KyRo792d ago

There's a number a lot worse than Vangaurd. It's also a lot better than that car crash Treyarch released before it.

XbladeTeddy792d ago

World at War is my favourite. Didn't know the N-Gage had a Call of Duty.

MadLad792d ago

Same for me.
I was never huge into Call of Duty, but I sunk a lot of time into WaW.
Both the campaign and the multiplayer are on point. Wouldn't mind a remaster.

I quit on CoD for a long while. Though I'm the odd man out that actually really enjoyed the campaign for WWII, being I got it through Humble monthly way back when.

TheLigX792d ago

I really enjoyed the Infinite campaign. Multiplayer... not so much.

Yppupdam792d ago

I agree, The Infinite campaign feels more like it's own thing that they slapped the CoD name on. If it stood on it's own, (sans the CoD name) I think it could have been it's own scifi franchise. And a damn good looking game, to boot. I never bothered to play the multiplayer.

victorMaje792d ago

MW 2019 apart from the desastrous file sizes is way better than AW.

MadLad791d ago

That was one I grabbed for Playstation because it pretty much just came out during the Redbox purge of videogames, and I got it for dirt cheap.

It was great coming home to an update every night, and watching one game eat up almost half my console's memory.

Amplitude792d ago (Edited 792d ago )

Will get disagrees but Infinite Warfare campaign was really good. Decent story, set pieces were amazing and if it didn't have the CoD game on it I'm sure people would have been more into it. Advanced Warfare was alright too. Titanfall 2 was just 1000 times better than both but I enjoyed them for their campaigns. I literally barely gaf about the story I'm in it for the set pieces and 5 hours of being stoned watching cool nonsense happen if I'm in the mood to play a CoD campaign. If I'm looking for a deep plot I'm gonna go somewhere else.
Ghosts was the worst story-wise though lol that cliffhanger ending was so bs.

Also MW 2019 was sick and is one of the best CoD games in yeeeears not sure why it's so low on this dude's list. Campaign was great, multiplayer was great and Warzone was fun for a while. Over it now but shrugs.

Beat the Vanguard campaign too but I can't even remember a single thing about it other than that it felt like it was 45 minutes long. Might be the most forgettable thing I've ever played lol just fully erased from my brain

Wore implementation I've ever seen,.. guess it just does not work all that great on every engine

MarkyMark891753d ago (Edited 1753d ago )

Agree, but this gives me hope that one day Ray Tracing can be a software based feature and not require some type of proprietary hardware to achieve. Software will always outpace Hardware so it could happen, but I feel like its going to take a lot more time to achieve the same level that RTX has already shown glimpses of so far. Really just waiting for Cyberpunk to see if RTX is actually something viable. I think if anybody can truly showcase RTX Features it would be Projekt Red.

zeal0us1753d ago

Too bad it doesn't make Mankind Divided a better game.

starchild1753d ago

It doesn't need to, the game was already fantastic, imo.

zeal0us1753d ago

Human Revolution was a better game and not to mention longer.

isarai1753d ago

Reshade is not raytracing, its a screen space post processing effect. Thats like calling SSAO "global illumination"
