SPC Soapbox - 11/15/13 The PS4 Launch, Wii ScrU-ed & November 22nd

SuperPhillip Central writes, "It's been since July since we've last introduced the SPC Soapbox. It's time to bring it back, step on top of it, and unleash our opinions to the masses. This evening's edition features some interesting topics (well, they're interesting to us at least!). We'll talk about our apathy for the PlayStation 4's launch, our disbelief over Nintendo's (mis)handling of the Wii U, and how awesome November 22 is going to be for North Americans like us."

The article got one thing right.

SONY's launch event was awful. Commercials interrupted by talking to ppl in line.....yay.

The article also got one thing wrong. The PS4 is amazing.

I'm sure the Xbox One will be great too, but the PS4 is breaking records for a good reason. Its that good. I'm off to enjoy it again :P

There are a few reasons why this launch wasn't as eventful as the PS3 launch

1) Consumers are getting smarter and buying online, avoiding the cold weather and saving some gas.

2) No one got shot this time.

3) Media outlets obsessed over the PS4 being 600 bucks and rolled with that story for a long time.

4) Sony made very few PS3s at launch. People LITERALLY got violent in order to get one.

This article is retarted. Wii u only sold 50k?? It sold 80k just last week , sales have picked up quite a bit. And yes people are buying third party games the attach rate would be the same as the last gen consoles.

If you're going to call something "retarded" you should learn how to spell it. There's some kind of irony here...

The 50,000 regards the NPD (U.S. sales) of last month.

Lol sorry professor Phil I didn't know my spelling was such a big deal.

cellur1113806d ago

Apparently he doesn't understand irony either.

kwandar3806d ago

I'm not sure where people are getting the attach rate from.

12 games here, 10 of which our downloads. Does the attach rate included downloaded games?

wonderfulmonkeyman3806d ago (Edited 3806d ago )

Dunno, but I don't see why it wouldn't. Unless they're pack-in games.

kwandar3806d ago

Because the companies providing the stats only have retail info? The only way downloads would be known, is if Nintendo was providing.

What, I thought this was dead after Shawn Layden left Sony. I would definitely pick this up if it's true. I have such great memories of playing the MediEvil games on PS1 and I played the PS4 remake. Such a great and underrated series.

Rainbow Cotton Interview: Lead Programmer Sheds Light on the Dreamcast Remake

VGChartz's Evan Norris: "If you haven't played Rainbow Cotton before, you're not alone. A Dreamcast exclusive released only in Japan, it's not exactly a household name. Looking to change that, and bring the sixth-gen game back into the spotlight, is German studio KRITZELKRATZ 3000, which — with the backing of publisher ININ and original developer SUCCESS — has remade the 3D shoot-'em-up from the ground up. Featuring several modern quality-of-life upgrades, plus HD graphics and a brand new local co-op mode, it promises to merge the past and present when it launches digitally on consoles and PC on May 9.

Ahead of the game's release, I chatted with Andreas Scholl, technical director at KRITZELKRATZ 3000 and lead programmer for Rainbow Cotton, about what fans can expect from the remake."
