The next Lord of the Rings game is called Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, and it's an open-world action game set between The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. Shadow of Mordor, developed by the folks at Monolith (Guardians of Middle-Earth), will be out for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4. Warner Bros. announced the game in a Game Informer cover reveal today, and the January edition of the magazine will have more details about the game. Hit the jump for the full rundown.
Joe 'Three Sheets' Neate (Executive Producer): "As I’m sure you can imagine, when it comes to Sea of Thieves my days are full of numbers. Development costs, active servers, days until the next update… Sometimes, though, a truly extraordinary number stands out – a number like 40 million, which I’m incredibly pleased to say is the number of pirates who’ve now set sail in Sea of Thieves!"
Garrr... more people to walk the plank and send to Davey Jones locker.
would have been funny to release this on talk like a pirate day.
Epic milestone!
After 6 years and 40 Million players, the people on N4G who called DOA on SoT must be feeling pretty stupid right now.
Especially considering that *right now* Sea of Thieves is leading Playstation Store´s pre-order charts ahead of the freaking Stellar Blade. O.o

Devstream 178 was filled with so many cool announcements for the game's community, and were able to ask a lot of questions about Warframe: 1999 and more!
From The Growing Stones and Valkyrie Interactive comes The Mildew Children on Xbox and PC. Ready for the fairy tales and horror it brings?
An open world Lord of the Rings game. I'm so hoping this turns out great. Just curious though. What events in an open world Lord of the Rings game can you put into it? There is nothing that comes to my mind.
Is it going to be the entire map from the films! This has potential to be incredible, so many races, so many stories, so much to explore!!!
There were only 3 good LotR game; Battle for Middle Earth 1-2 was good and the Return of the King game was somewhat good then nothing. For LotR to shine again in gaming, they should do a game like Skyrim/Withcer 2 or maybe one like dragon age 1.
Oh joy, it's another prequel with ''good'' intentions i'm sure. Seems like they're becoming the norm these days.
Please dont screw this up
