Top 10 Batman Stories We Want To See in the Next Arkham Game

CCC Says: "With the release of Batman: Arkham Origins, we thought it would be cool to explore some other, more famous Batman stories that could be woven into the fabric of the Arkham series. Batman has become the face of the DC brand of games. He is the only one to have seemingly escaped the doldrums of lackluster titles and has come to the forefront with some of the best third-person games to date. With excellent graphics, combat, and stories, these games deserve a great continuation of titles that fit the tradition that has been established by the series."

slightly grey haired tired batman please :)

GrimWykydtron3829d ago

i don't want to see another arkham game after origins... i don't want to see any batman games... it's time to change hero...

Deividas3829d ago

Do not compare Arkham Origins to the other two. WB sucks and if Rocksteady makes the next Batman game, it will be great.

Pintheshadows3829d ago

Origins is brilliant so i'm not exactly sure where you are coming from with this.

Deividas3829d ago

Its an okay game but brilliant is not the right word. Arkham City was brilliant. This one is generically boring. I have about 7 hours in so far and its not that good.

Pintheshadows3829d ago

Arkham City was brilliant and this improves upon it in so many areas and is therefore also brilliant but because it isn't Rocksteady it is getting criticised for the sake of it.

All of the criticisms levelled at it have actually been present in the Rocksteady games so what has changed?

Deividas3829d ago

The story sucks. The gameplay is great yea, thats because nothing in the gameplay has changed....I mean NOTHING! Its exactly the same. And thats great because Arkham City perfected the gameplay. So therefore all the works has been done in that area and WB only had to copy and paste the gameplay, so they needed to work on the story...and they dropped the ball. The whole story is terrible, it does not draw me in at all. The villain fights are eh and generic. The best part of the game is the gameplay....and they are not the ones who designed that gameplay, Rocksteady did. Thats why its not that good of a game.

Pintheshadows3829d ago (Edited 3829d ago )

We have a massive difference of opinion here because as far as I am concerned the boss fights are the best they have been. They are far from generic. I actually chuckled at that. Deathstroke alone is a fight right out of the comics.

And I find the story to be compelling, brilliantly written, and more loyal to its subject matter than either of the previous games and it brings the trilogy full circle. I also think the detective mode is actually worth it this time. It was the lamest aspect of the previous games. Here, WB has improved it massively.

The soundtrack is stunning, and the voice acting impeccable.

Not to mention the fact that there have been a myriad of tweaks to the combat. It is subtly different to the last two games especially as I played City just last week. I noticed and I liked the changes.

theprofessor3829d ago

i think it's brilliant the story and multiplier are brilliant... but there very serve glitches, i'm sure they'll be fixed pretty soon

Keep em batman games coming , can we do without the arkham name in it tho?

Let's go nuts on the wish list of things we wanna see in a "next-gen" batman game!

I wanna see a Gotham fully recreated where we can drive the batmobile , pilot the batjet , be able to enter most if not all building by either the front door , blasting a whole in a wall , ventilation , balcony and etc.

MisfitsInc3829d ago

i don't want to see anymore Batman games for a while, i think they should've ended with Arkham City.

The best Batman Arkham game still isn’t on PS5, and that’s a problem

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League is almost here, but I can't revisit the best Arkhamverse game on PS5 without sacrificing quality.

Not a fan of Orgins. Blame it on the absence of Conroy & Hamill. Blame it on the lack of atmosphere compared to Asylm. Hell blame it the devs thst dicked over Wii U owners like me that purchased the game only for support be dropped as a thank you to me. It's better than Knight but that's not saying much. I don't care for that entry either.

Rebel_Scum98d ago

tbh buying a game like that for WiiU should’ve been an obvious non-purchase when it existed on better hardware.

Cacabunga98d ago

Origins is amazing..
my favorite Batman is Batman and Robin on mega drive.. an HD REMASTER of that would still look glorious

ZeekQuattro98d ago

I got it launch. Kinda hard to go back. I'm supposed to know they were going to drop support months after the fact. 🤣

Exvalos98d ago

You sound like a salty fanboy, that it didn't come to your precious plastic of choice. It's not the developers fault Nintendo continues making underpowered hardware. It's our fault because we keep buying it. Yes I say (we) I'm part of the problem as well.

ZeekQuattro98d ago

I have a PS3 and a Wii U. How was I a salty fanboy? I bought the game on the system I wanted it for.

Rebel_Scum98d ago

Nah my comment has nothing to do with whether you’d know or not that they’d drop support.

Buying any AAA game of that era for a WiiU you should’ve known you’d be sacrificing graphics and load times.

LucasRuinedChildhood99d ago

It's solid but Origins is definitely not the best Arkham game.

LoveSpuds98d ago

Smacks of hyperbole to me, talk about clutching at straws to create some drama around PS5!!

generic-user-name98d ago

Titles like these are designed to get you to come in, go to their comment section and tell them how they're so wrong so they can boost their numbers.

Phoenix7698d ago

Even though its not the best arkham game in the series, its still an enjoyable game in its own right. What it do really well at though, was the crime investigations scenes. Which imo, were the best of the franchise.

goldwyncq98d ago

I don’t know about best game but it definitely has the best story and boss fights.

boing198d ago

Never played it and recently I've finally tried it via cloud on psn. It's not the best for sure, but it ain't bad either.

Batman: Arkham Origins - Open World Busy Work that Doesn't Hold Up 10 Years Later

Batman: Arkham Origins launched 10 years ago today, and sadly doesn't stand the test of time as well as its predecessors.

Petebloodyonion179d ago

I fail to grasp why this title is worse compared to Arkham City (according to the article) as the author didn't provide any argument to explain why aside from that it felt the bigger map compared to Arkham Asylum made the experience less tight.
More importantly, the author seems like he never played Arkham City since he described the game as linear (alongside Asylum).

The Unjustly Forgotten Batman: Arkham Origins Deserves A Resurgence

Despite certain flaws, Batman: Arkham Origins is a splendid entry in the legendary Arkham series and deserves better than being forsaken.

lellkay292d ago (Edited 292d ago )

It's the worst of the three in my opinion, but still really enjoyable. Definitely underated and gets far more crap that it deserves.

Should be included with the other Arkham games in the bundle.

Demetrius292d ago

I'm honestly enjoying it alot, my first time playing since I just decided to get a Xbox 360 slim for 65$, I cop some other gems too tho, I went into Arkham origins not expecting better than Arkham city but it does deliver plus the guy who voices batman did a good job aiming for the young Bruce impression
