Shuhei Yoshida Confirms PS3/PS4 Games Not Counted In 1st Party Exclusives In Development For PS4

Shuhei Yoshida Confirms PS3/PS4 games (Like Escape Plan, Flower & flOw) are not counted in the first party exclusives in development for PS4.

NukaCola3829d ago

Awesomeness. Means all yhose games are nextgen built from the ground up.

cleft53829d ago

I am really hyped to see what these games are now. I get the feeling Sony is going to kill it.

UltimateMaster3828d ago

All of them are disc base games for PS4 exclusively too. Sweet!

ZodTheRipper3829d ago

12 new IP's from first party studios? In the first year? Which announced ones are included in that number? I think it's only The Order: 1886, Drive Club & Knack ...that would be crazy.

PlayStation_43829d ago

Rime
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture
Helldivers.

These 3 too, all look awesome and are published by SCE

Raven7223829d ago (Edited 3829d ago )

It's not just first-party studios that are included in that number. It's any game that is being published by Sony Worldwide. So that means not only The Order, Driveclub, and Knack but also Resogun, Rime, Shadow of the Beast, and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. My question now is whether or not Doki-Doki Universe, Helldivers, and Hohokum count. Those are all PS3/PS4 games published by Sony. If they don't that means we still have 11 games yet to be announced for Year One. If they do count then we're waiting on 8 games.

ABeastNamedTariq3829d ago

@Raven

You kind of just answered your own question...

If it's on PS3 and 4, it doesn't count.

ShutUpDonny3829d ago

Infamous Second Son, too I think. It's first party, right ?

christrules00413829d ago (Edited 3829d ago )

Killzone Shadowfall and Infamous Second Son as well. If it's on ps3/ps4 then it doesn't count. Interestering to see what the other games are.

BKsecret3828d ago

THE GUARDIAN!
I hope so!!

ZodTheRipper3828d ago (Edited 3828d ago )

InFamous and Killzone are not new IP's guys. Naughty Dog is probably working on UC4 so that's also not included. Thanks for the others though, so the list looks like this

Confirmed:
1. The Order: 1868
2. Drive Club
3. Knack
4. Rime
5. Everybody's Gone to the Rapture
6. Helldivers
7. Shadow of the Beast?

Unconfirmed:
8. Sony Santa Monica new IP
9. Media Molecule new IP
10. Sony Bend Studio new IP
11. London Studio new IP
12. Quantic Dream new IP
Bonus: The Last Guardian (hopefully)

I like where this is going.

nveenio3828d ago

@zod18

I'm a little confused. This article says first party, but does that mean first-party "studios" or just first-party "publishings"? I would think there's a pretty significant difference there. If it means studios, then even Quantic Dream's next IP wouldn't count.

DOMination-3828d ago

The Order, Rime, EGTTR, Resogun also are not first party.

They should start investing in more quality exclusives for the Vita in 2014 and not only for the PS4. Does the Vita even have any quality exclusive for 2014 ? Tearaway is being released in November, and what about after that ?

... or maybe they are thinking that the Vita remote play will save the console. I was thinking of purchasing a Vita, then i tried to remember a decent exclusive for 2014, and none occurred to me. I might be mistaken ...

Rainstorm813828d ago

With the PS4 launch right around the corner I think is why they arent talking too much about the vita but with vita TV coming, I think they will spread their focus more evenly eventually...Once the PS4 is on the market that opens up all new readons to buy a Viya and Vita Tv on top of Vita games

majiebeast3829d ago (Edited 3829d ago )

Feels like we have only just seen the tip off the iceberg. Santa Monica game reveal is imminent and so is Naughty Dog.

Goku7813829d ago

Yes that day will come and catch everyone like a thief in the night like when the first God of war and TLOU came out.

My_precious3829d ago

i think they did their homework from WiiU's launch very carefully

Misaka_x_Touma3828d ago

Nintendo left their launch to Third Party to shine but they failed from the start of 2013. Sony they decided to step and bring more collaboration and published more.

Golden_Mud3829d ago

Is it real what the rumors are saying ? the rumors are saying Naughty Dogs want to go multiplatform , if true that would be not really that great for Sony but it will be great for gamers all around the world

My_precious3829d ago (Edited 3829d ago )

ND is sony's, the former of this studio is long gone now, so if they want to go 3rd party they have to quit and form their own studio

is not the same as Bungie where they can buy themsevle from MS

Golden_Mud3829d ago

I never said that's not the case , I just read an article saying the CEO talked to the Bill Gates something like that but yeah , now like always I lose all my bubbles for no reason ? cause just I asked about something

ABeastNamedTariq3829d ago

Lol, what?

Naughty Dog is owned by Sony.

What rumors are you referring to?

G20WLY3829d ago

Lmao, this has gotta be the 'work' of MisterX!

PR_FROM_OHIO3829d ago

Naught Dog does not want to go mutiplatform lol plus they can't bc Naughty Dog is owned by Sony so that will never happen

Axonometri3829d ago

ND makes the games they do with financial support is Sony. Sure they would want to broaden the consumer base. Question is, can they do it without Sony.

Ron_Danger3829d ago (Edited 3829d ago )

I bubbled down both you and Ihassounah and I hope others do too. It's these types of misinformed comments that snowball into flame articles or blogs.

Sony owns Naughty Dog.

Destiny is being developed by Bungie who is a 3rd party developer which is why Destiny is a multi platform title. Just like how Insomniac Games developed the multi platform title Fuse.

MoonWheel3829d ago

Sony own Naughty Dog so no Naughty Dog are staying with Sony.

Axonometri3829d ago

That is why Destiny is multi-platform? It is not impossible.

Imagine a ND game on PC.
Still how dependent are they on Sony?

Baka-akaB3829d ago (Edited 3829d ago )

Bungie is currently independant , that's why destiny is happening that's all .

Someonerandom3828d ago

@Axonometri,
This post of yours shows how misinformed you are.
ND is owned by Sony, Bungie is owned by no one.

sourav933829d ago

Naughty Dog is owned by Sony....

MightyNoX3829d ago

This comment deserves the obligatory "Go home, you're drunk." meme

Ron_Danger3829d ago

Worst type of troll comment. Making up a rumor and then trying to spread it around like it's a fact. So pathetic.

Bubble down

Someonerandom3828d ago

@IHassounah,
I bubbled you down just for posting a link leading to a fanboy website.
And yes, that article is troll, whether you like it or not...

obliterator3829d ago (Edited 3829d ago )

Lmao. Rumors are Microsoft is developing exclusive games for ps4

christrules00413828d ago

I've watched a lot of the Killzone interviews but in 1 interview they were asked if Sony forced them or how it works being a first party studio and if they thought doing a new IP. They said Sony doesn't force them so that gives them some room and they thought bring Killzone to the PS4 they could freshen up the series. Then they went onto say they do have a new IP but they weren't giving any details out. I tried finding the interview but there is too many of them to find which one it was. Otherwise I would've linked it.

SoulSercher6203828d ago

Take a hike troll. Bubble down. I hope you lose all your bubbles.

solidjun53828d ago

seriously I hope the mods bubble you down for spreading FUD. If anything, they would mark your whole account as spam.

Hicken3828d ago

So you comment about some completely ridiculous rumor(as ridiculous as Turn 10 going multiplat), and your source is an Xbox website?

Overwatch 2 ximming penalties start going out next season

Blizzard is finally talking about how they are combating the ximming issue on Overwatch 2. Starting in Season 11, if a console player is detected to be using a mouse and keyboard on a console version of Overwatch 2, they will be banned from playing Competitive for a week. While they will still be able to play Quick Play, if they are still found to be ximming, they will then be placed in PC Quick Play matches and lose access to the aim assist tools that console players get.
