It's not just first-party studios that are included in that number. It's any game that is being published by Sony Worldwide. So that means not only The Order, Driveclub, and Knack but also Resogun, Rime, Shadow of the Beast, and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. My question now is whether or not Doki-Doki Universe, Helldivers, and Hohokum count. Those are all PS3/PS4 games published by Sony. If they don't that means we still have 11 games yet to be announced for Year One. If they do count then we're waiting on 8 games.

InFamous and Killzone are not new IP's guys. Naughty Dog is probably working on UC4 so that's also not included. Thanks for the others though, so the list looks like this

I'm a little confused. This article says first party, but does that mean first-party "studios" or just first-party "publishings"? I would think there's a pretty significant difference there. If it means studios, then even Quantic Dream's next IP wouldn't count.

With the PS4 launch right around the corner I think is why they arent talking too much about the vita but with vita TV coming, I think they will spread their focus more evenly eventually...Once the PS4 is on the market that opens up all new readons to buy a Viya and Vita Tv on top of Vita games

I've watched a lot of the Killzone interviews but in 1 interview they were asked if Sony forced them or how it works being a first party studio and if they thought doing a new IP. They said Sony doesn't force them so that gives them some room and they thought bring Killzone to the PS4 they could freshen up the series. Then they went onto say they do have a new IP but they weren't giving any details out. I tried finding the interview but there is too many of them to find which one it was. Otherwise I would've linked it.

The studio is owned by Sony, first of all, the people would have to up and quit an even than they would all still be under a non compete clause most likely so this new studio they would be making, in a state of stasis for at least a point of time of about a year or two. Before you even see anything unless Sony gets something out of it for letting the development team to break away early. Sort of like with jaffe. And his new studio.

Not only NDA's but also non compete's are also standard so its never just that simple.

I hope one of those 1st party exclusive is Dark Cloud 4, Legend of Dragoon 2 / remake, Wild Arms 6, Demon's Souls 2, or any JRPG that make me happy again just like PS1 & PS2 era.

Don't take me wrong though. I'm pretty happy with all JRPG in PS3. But it lacks some iconic title from the previous gen like Wild Arms, Suikoden, Breath of Fire, Front Mission, or Dark Cloud. So i hope Sony can revive some of their classic JRPG series again in PS4 ^^
