That's just for one console. How about for those of us that have 2 consoles in the same house?

Edit: You can use up to 2 systems concurrently: the system activated as your "primary" PS4™ system, and one other system.

mandf3834d ago

It says and I quote " one primary system and on concurent system." Same as this gen

Godchild10203834d ago (Edited 3834d ago )

I got that when I clicked the second tab. The one that says "Playing on other PS4 systems when you are not home."

AliTheSnake13834d ago (Edited 3834d ago )

"Games you purchase can be downloaded and played on any PS4™ system if you sign in to PSN℠. There is no limit on the number of systems you can use. * Only YOU can start games that you download."

GODDAMN IT. No more Sharing :(

mandf3834d ago (Edited 3834d ago )

It says and I quote " one primary system and on concurrent system." Same as this gen edit i was typing then you editted lol double post sorry that kind of night

KUV19773834d ago

It's actually not the same as this gen. On the second console only the owner of the digital content will be able to launch it. Other accounts can not start those games. However, on PS4 up to 4 accounts can be logged in simultaneously. Maybe this would be a work-around.

Game-Sharing in the way it was abused seems to be over. For households with multiple PS4s this may be inconvenient.

mandf3834d ago (Edited 3834d ago )

I do believe you are wrong. although maybe you are right edit your are wrong it is 2 system activations and the primary user does not have to sign in. It's all there in the faq

KUV19773834d ago (Edited 3834d ago )

"Games you purchase can be downloaded and played on any PS4™ system if you sign in to PSN℠. There is no limit on the number of systems you can use. * Only you can start games that you download."

The last sentence does not sound like another account can start a game like it is now on PS3. The owner does not have to be logged in on the primary console, but on other consoles only he can start a game he owns. So you can play the game on two systems, even at the same time, but on the console of a friend, the friend account can not start the game and earn trophies in it, unless the 4 concurrend signins can be used in a way that the owner-account is logged in and starts the game but another account can then go on and play it, which I don't believe.

The game-sharing was not an intended feature. It was meant so that you could play games when on another console. It was however abused in a way that a game was bought once and then 'owned' by first 5, later 2 people. This is not in the interest of publishers. I believe the new system tries to fix this.

yewles13834d ago (Edited 3834d ago )

@mandf

Incorrect, not what it says at all.

"You can use up to 2 systems 'CONCURRENTLY':"

"Only 'YOU' can start games that you download."

The original account needs to be activated and the game started by said original in order for others to play.

Mr_Writer853833d ago

@Yewles

You are muddling up the two statements.

The whole 'only YOU' thing is about playing the games on say a 3rd or 4th PS4.

The second is saying you have two PS4's that are a 'primary' console which says in the section before that it says you can play the game on any profile on the PS4.

KUV19773833d ago (Edited 3833d ago )

Now I get you. You suppose one can have multiple systems designated as being 'primary'. That would certainly fix the home-situation but I believe you can only have one primary console. It says 'your primary console' not 'your primary consoleS'. This way the app knows where to download your purchases to and the VITA knows to which console to connect. Shuhei Yoshida already confirmed that there is no pairing necessary between VITA and PS4. This would be much more difficult if you had multiple primary consoles. However I would not complain if that was the case. Let's wait and see. Maybe someone could ask Yoshida-San via twitter if multiple primary consoles are possible.

Well that's great to hear my brother lives in Canada and we buy digital and share so glad this feature works with ps4

KUV19773834d ago

Not necessarily: "Games you purchase can be downloaded and played on any PS4™ system if you sign in to PSN℠. There is no limit on the number of systems you can use. * Only you can start games that you download." Unless you also share an account, or simultaneous login will be sufficient (which it very well may be).

thehitman3834d ago (Edited 3834d ago )

Think that how it is already on ps3. Not really sure since the last time I actually tested it since they might have changed the policies but I use to share content w/ my friend who lived across the street from me all we had to do was keep his PSN account on my PS3 and vice versa for giving him stuff. I could dl anything he purchased and use it on my account like it was mine.

Probably only online games will be affected since you need to login w/ the psn account to play online but I think that even has changed w/ Sony adding multiple psn accounts for co-op playing online.

KUV19773834d ago (Edited 3834d ago )

Exactly, right now you just need to have his account on your console. The text, hoiwever, explicitly states, that only the owner of the content will be able to launch it. Maybe with the ability to aign 4 accounts in at a time, the owner-account can start it and the other account can earn trophies, but to me it sounds more like other accounts can not really do anything with the game, without the original owner being the active acount.

In regard to other systems:
"Games you purchase can be downloaded and played on any PS4™ system if you sign in to PSN℠. There is no limit on the number of systems you can use. * Only you can start games that you download."

stuna13834d ago

What I think the difference will be applied will be those with PS+, meaning that will be the determining factor as far as how restrictive digitally downloaded content can be shared. From my understanding I don't think PS+ can be shared over more than two consoles simultaneously, but digital content bought outside of PS+ can be shared unlimitedly if you own the game, and could probably be played on any PS4.

Note that this is just my assumption, and should in noway be taken as me stating a fact.

nevin13834d ago

lol, this stuff is crazy.

GentlemenRUs3834d ago (Edited 3834d ago )

Though can you use 2 Vita systems on one PS4 for remote share?

I was thinking on letting my younger brother link his Vita up to my PS4 so he can play the games from his Vita.

Darrius Cole3834d ago

What do you do if somebody steals you primary system?

SaffronCurse3834d ago

You can deactivate that system on Sony's account management website or you can call CS and ask them to deactivate it.

HugoDrax3834d ago

Yeap that's exactly what I did for my backwards compatible metal gear PS3 that was stolen from me...bastards!! Oh well they can keep it because in 3 weeks 11/15 I'll be upgrading lol

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny
